- Ara: History Untold is a game that will have you start with a very basic world and eventually progress through time to new ages as you upgrade farms, make new friends, and decide how to deal with your enemies. Admittedly, this Ara History Untold gameplay was a lot to digest, but we wound up getting some assistance during our demo. Still, we hope you enjoy getting a peek at our first foray as we point and click through this strategy title.

I am going to go ahead and apologize for this gameplay in advance. I did my best but I was learning!
It was more the lack of letting the viewers know what the heck was going on..

Im dreading the hundreds of hours that this game will steal from my life
I’m really looking forward to this game but I’m still skeptical before saying it’s a “Civ Killer.” So many games have tried and failed before, but Ara: History Untold looks like an evolution of the series that’s been long overdue.
Cov has killed itself with it’s ridiculous civ7 mechanics announced. Swapping civs mid game!!

People are always trying to see negativity everywhere. I'm just happy that several games now propose different things of my favourite genre. And I'm very happy to see the Civ franchise not hesitating to try new things and shake things up, no need for a clone of the previous installments.

If you're a 4x fan and haven't tried it yet, play Old World. Best game in the genre imo.
Tried it on a pc that handled BG3 at 45fps

@@SonnyEverywhere There are gameplay videos from it. Civ 7 introduced some radical changes which not everyone likes.
So this is the IGN gameplay that we know and loath.
Where are the real known leaders. Alexander, napoleon, Julius Caesar etc
The game went out of its way to erase historical male figures.
How is sappho a greek leader?
becuz they are not women
Some nations will have more than one leader, especially those where one of the picks is an oddball. Greece's second leader IS Alexander indeed. And Rome will be lead by Julius too. So from your list only Napoleon is lacking.
The men in this list are people who created or unified a state. Meanwhile, the women are the wife of some third rated king or a soldier (except Elizabeth). They are not on the same level.
Alexander and Caesar are in the game, just not in this demo

Civ 5 + europe universalis or Victoria. So more focused on economy les in combat

It's a demo, the game has more male than female leaders.
And it's a game, so they can do whatever they want and put more female leaders than the historical proportion.

Ara has HORRIBLE marketing, so even if this turns out to be a better game, it won't be anywhere as popular to scare Firaxis.
You’re underestimating the brand name that is Civ. Most people don’t even know this game exists in comparison
No, the civ developers and sea developers actually did co operate when developing their games, so not afraid!

- game looks altight graphic wise but not as good as civ 7
-people only talk about this because they dont like change
-it wont be as popular as civ dif (only relase on one platform)
- it will probadly be good but think civ will be better long term
Why an AI narrator?
humans are expensive. gamers often complain when no narration is in game. also, perhaps because they are attempting localization in many languages.

Because historically, woman have been in positions of power? It was somewhat rare, but they definitely existed and representing them isn't an issue unless you just hate woman or something.
Because many women have been in power of grand empires and civilizations. Wu Zetian is an example, she was the founder of the Zhou dynasty
Long story short, deep down you love dominant men telling you what to do.
There have been a lot civilisations in which women were allowed to be in basically any function and thus were found in any function.
Men forcefully being in charge is more so a Western, West-Asian thing originally with exceptions here and there.

This actually what any civ fan was expecting. What they released instead is like a civ 6 DLC
Ya know what...I only really watched the 7 minute trailer on steam and about 10 minutes into this and already my feeling is I'd rather play this than Civ 7 and so Ive decided to go on a hunch and preorder this. Sorry Civ 7. I think you killed the franchise for me when you decided to become Humankind 2.0

Poland was the biggest state. Your Rus belonged to Mongols.

@@Xanthas998 we had Viking leaders in Civ 6 and 5, def in Civ 6. Not a single Kyivan Rus' leader in any of the games ... It's crazy, because it used to be a major power in the region and rather significant historically for many modern nations, yet we don't have it, but have 100 random warlords in Civ 6.

This was a sample version
There’s going to be like 40 leaders on release. The only one that won’t be from that list is the Ottomans. But they may have DLC after launch with them, but they haven’t confirmed anything yet.
Historical Persia wasn't Muslim for millennia (a vast majority of its history as a civilisation). It only became Muslim well after its decline.
