One of the best Christian Rock Bands? There's No question about it! They're the best Christian Rock Band! And for me, they're the best Band of all time!
I agree they are a fantastic band. I personally like the middle of their journey the best, but for any true skillet fans who have followed all their music their first albums were majorly religious like Jesus Jesus my holy annointed Jesus lol. Not stuff u could head bang to. My favorites were the era of rebirthing and comatose and the album or two that followed. The new stuff is amazing for sure, but I think they went a little main stream more rock less Christian rock... Less skillet. I've been a die hard fan for years but sadly I think the fame got to them a little. One of my all time favorite bands that I don't think has changed much is breaking Benjamin the music still has a breaking Ben feel to it. Both great bands but just my opinion. Ashes remain is a great Christian rock band too if u haven't heard them check them out.
I had the pleasure of seeing Skillet at Winter Jam 2018 in Cleveland, Ohio. I had never even heard of them before that show (I'm pretty strictly a country music guy), but I fell in love with their sound immediately!!!

This is a beautiful song, and so relatable to me. I spent all of 2022 in Rehab for addiction. I struggled for years and prayed for Jesus to deliver me, and he did. My relationship with Jesus has never been so strong, once I surrendered and "Asked For Help" it changed forever! I released my first Christian Music Video in Four years Stylez Major "The Only One" already over 40k views with no label support! The devil wanted to finish me with my addiction but christ fought for my soul, for that I owe him everything. Please like this comment to help spread the message god put on my heart.

Makes 2 of us. I myself waited, and then unequivocally she sang at the encore of the song and both the song, John Cooper, Jen Ledger and the rest of Skillet were absolutely remarkable.
The way Skillet uses their own faith to channel positivity into the world, and find a way to do it that keeps it accessible to anyone, even those who don't share that faith, is really damn inspiring. I didn't know they were a "christian rock band" for a looong time. I just knew their music was absolutely fire, touched on topics that I related to deeply, and usually left me feeling like I have just a little more fight in me. There is no preaching, no pushing, no "my way ist the best/only way to salvation", which sadly comes up way too often and is my cue to nope out of that situation. I am not religious and probably never will be, but I have a few friends who are. One of them always leaves me with the same feeling of being just a little bit stronger than before. She says it's ok that I don't believe, bc she will continue to pass on the strength her faith gives her to me and anyone else who needs it. That is what this feels like to me, and I love to see it. I wish this kind of faith was more common than the pushy, obnoxiously preachy kind.

This song hits hard and I love the lyrics. The line "I was made for than this" is an anthem onto its own. Amazing. The first release and this one really take me back to the band's sounds on the albums; Comatose and Awake. That is when I first discovered Skillet and loved watching their musical career. I won't say the music has come back to that sound, it's evolved that sound and given us some great songs. If the music performs as well as it looks like it could, Revolution could be the biggest album yet. Thank you so much to the band for continuing their journey and giving the fans their all in these albums. For those who are saying they want to see Skillet live, I hope and pray that you get to the opportunity. The only thing I would offer is see them when they headline, not share a tour or open. Their headline shows are so much more pure, higher energy, and the band has more time to share their personal messages (if you know Skillet, they are Christian, but they share messages of hope that reach across to non-believers as well). If you can't see them headline, you won't be disappointed in their shorter shows, so definitely get them on your list.

Seen them twice at House of Blues and at the Palladium at Carowinds. Amazing shows both times. Absolutely worth it.
