As much as Apollo is trying be nice. Have to remember. Apollo slept with Aphrodity while she was MARRIED to Hephaestus. He CAUGHT them and Apollo ran. But Aeris was not so lucky. While the God of War did get a lot of action with her. Hephaestus caught the two of them. Wrapped them in unbreakable chains and dragged them before the court. Right in front of Zeus and demanded a divorce. Yeah. Zeus couldn't really say no. Even if he was the one who forced the marriage in the first place. Really, he didn't want the marriage. Only agreed to it for other reasons. Still, for as grumpy as the man is. And "ugly". He is a sweetheart. If you don't stab him in the back.

Everything has changed wildly around history including him being described as looking like the night in the Iliad. The Greek (and the Roman) empires were extremely big and went all the way from Italy to Africa, it is actually a part of mythology (and colonialism history) that the Greek gods eventually fled to Egypt (later classical Typhon retellings ). It's also very likely that the Greek gods came to be due to the influence of other cultures in the zone. so honestly it is kind of stupid to get so pissed about a mythological being's skin color
