In the Iron Man PlayStation 2 Game, while escaping the cave and killing enemies with your flamethrower, this song plays. I always wondered why they never used this song once in any Iron Man movie
Man that is disappointing they could have used this scene when he came out of that cave and started burning the camp and his weapons they got their, its suits very well in this video.
What’s crazy is for years I thought they did, with such a clear memory of it too. About two years ago looked into it, to show a friend how badass the scene was with the song. I like how they did this scene. Even though the bullets aren't penetating his armor, they're still pushing him around, knocking him over, and likely causing him pain. Their kinetic energy is still transferring into him.

I think either way fits. The scene without it plays to the seriousness and overall tone of the entire movie, from start to finish. Taken out of context however, I can certainly see the song fitting, and I can certainly guess that they likely did actually have a cut with it in there but decided that it was better to keep it out and save the "I am Iron Man" for the end of the movie.
I'm sure they thought of using the song for this moment. It's badass but I'm kind of glad they didn't, it kept the serious and somewhat grounded tone they went for. Also for the time this was a pretty serious and somewhat dark moment. Emerging from a cave and burning terrorists alive is a far cry from the Marvel we have today. I'm glad I can see this version but I'm also glad we got the more serious one.
Would have decreased the tension, but it’s so badass that idrc definitely agreed, it was good that they kept you wondering if it was going to be included until the credits though

Even though that armour is mostly solid iron those bullets would still hurt like hell especially on the helmet cause there’s no padding between the helmet and Tony’s head
I'm sure Favreau had his reasons for not including this song during this scene. However, I'll never understand why Berlin's Take My Breath Away wasn't used here.
