her eyes were so incredibly essential to the Lady Jessica’s performance in my opinion I’m glad we still got to see her be so expressive
She was good. The films are awful. No surprise considering the director. He is the most overrated director ever. Not one quality film.

Jessica's transformation into Reverend Mother was enigmatic in part 2... i loved her last costume. It rivals Charlotte Rampling's matron costume.
God, Charlotte Rampling's veil was SO GODDAMN COOL. One of my favorite shots of the first film is just a close up of her gaze at Paul through the veil.
@@romilrhCharlotte Rampling’s gaze is the stuff of legends 😊

I respect her for telling the truth about her ego. But she did an amazing job in that role and was quite a great performance by her. It was very believable and didnt feel forced.
I think she is talking more about the ego of the caracter

Yeah I'd much have this explanation than the various excuses they came up with master chief almost never having his helmet in the halo series
She should watch "V for vendetta", Hugo was captivating without EVER seeing his face.
Apparently she told Denis what she would accept and what she wouldn't by using the Voice.
Rebecca: “I'm not wearing a veil, Denis (Voice Reverb)”.
Denis (under the Voice's influence): “You're not wearing a veil, Denis”.

She has such a big personality. It’s really fun hearing her talk
She is great as Lady Jessica. “You will see the beauty and the horror.” Her expression in that moment is so chilling.
She also played Rose the Hat in Doctor Sleep, so she can go _dark._
Oh man I got chills reading that line again just now.
Scariest moment in the film.
Yeah she was one of the better part of the movie.
I feel like she was an incredible Jessica. And I really love these movies for what they accomplished, but I do more that a lot of the interesting Jessica scenes didn't make the cut. It's mostly dialogue with her and Yueh, her and Gurney, and her and Thufir, but they are honestly some of my favorite parts of the books.
I expect I'll watch these movies again and again for years to come, but I'm still young and I hope we get a full-fledged no holds barred adoption. Something with cinnamontography and pacing on par with the movie, but more of the intrigue of the books. Even though they too cut out a lot, the earlier seasons of game of thrones did prove that people are willing to sit through intrigue (as long as they got their HBO mandated sex scenes)
I think out of everybody, she deserves the Oscar Nomination the most for her mesmerizing performance in the film. She was terrifying and manipulative and I loved every second of that portrayal, I mean everybody was great but she and Butler for me were the main standouts!
She’s not wrong. Her facial expressions really improved the movie. Although she could act through a paper bag, I’m glad they excluded some of the face coverings.
"She couldn't act (her way out of) a paper bag" is what you say when you think her acting is bad, not good.
@@jason_v12345 ... that's why the comment is saying that she COULD act her way out of one. It's the opposite meaning of COULDN'T and they are using it correctly.
You misread their comment, thinking they meant it as an insult, when it was actually high praise.
@@jason_v12345Seems like people nowadays are just very willing to skim through something, and be so sure of what they read that they post a response without thinking about it. It's insane, it feels like gaslighting.
@@TBCman99 But if "can't act your way out of a paper bag" means "can't act," then "can act your way out of a paper bag" just means "can act." The "paper bags" cancel out. So it's not such high praise.
@@jason_v12345 maybe you need to take the paper bag off as you seem to have trouble reading
I would have to agree. I’m glad they didn’t put the veil on. She was able to emote such emotion just by her eyes. This is one talented woman
Agreed. Especially since so much of the books happens within the heads of each character, it’s nice to see those thoughts expressed through other means when presented cinematically 👍
i'm glad they listened to her as well and gave her agency as an actor - you can really tell that everyone cast in the film was genuinely invested into playing their characters well, but i feel like Rebecca Ferguson absolutely dominated with her performance!
actors are paid props, nothing more
she has a veil in the throne room at the end of part 2 im pretty sure
In the plus side at least they didn’t shave her head.
The lack of face veil really differentiated her among the crows in a similar way to the blue band Chani wears. Also Rebecca Ferguson has such a great personality lol!
"among the crows" WoW
I love how honest and authentic she is. I hate it when ppl pretend they have NO ego... it's like... dude of course you want to be seen doing your work especially at that level. I'd feel the same way, if ur just gonna cover me up, why tf am I here? Let's just do VO shit in a booth and I'll go on vacation lol but rly, Ferguson's performance in anything she does is beautiful and intense and raw and we'd all probably be annoyed if we didn't get to see her as much as possible. ❤
In her case, yes this is true. But for the dude playing Master Chief in the Halo tv series should have checked his ego and understood who the character is.
reminds me of that scene in "once upon a time in hollywood"
She's being prideful WITHOUT trying to put down other people. That's what makes this different.
Edit: I also agree with the other reply comparing Halo. You should respect the source material if you want to respect the fans.
To hv a veil and still the camera can see your face , just do what Jodha Akbar ,a Bollywood movie based on romance of Hindu princess and Mugal King , did for Jodha/Hindu princess (Ashwariya Rai , the actress name who played her) . Have her veil made of net.
Even though net veil is inaccurate for the time period but for the actress they changed it.

There is a part in "Inglorious Bastards" where Christoph Waltz pulls this beautiful, subtle transition from "polite" to "monster" in a matter of a second. Rebecca Ferguson has that moment in Dune 2 when she's pacing the sietch. Absolutely froze me in my seat and set all the "danger" bells off in my lizard brain. Phenomenal actress.
She's so beautiful ❤
Lady Jessica is probably my favourite character from the first Dune book and Rebecca’s portrayal in the movies (especially part 2) was absolutely badass
I'm so glad she did something about that. She is such a massive catalyst for Paul becoming who he is. Hiding her face would have been the wrong way to go. Also, from a narrative standpoint, she is the face of the Bene Geserit for Paul.
I loved her performance. Such a great actress. I really feel she gave a lot of depth to the character.
I love how she made that sound of diminishing ego 😂
Yeah it’s weirdly satisfying
She slayed it in part two. One of the best performances by far
True. Absolute bad ass with the face tattoos and drip
Gotta agree. I hated her performance in part 1, but she killed it in p.2.
She was probably my favorite character in both films. She's an amazing actress.
Jessica: "I'm not wearing a veil."
Denis: "But you need to be mysteriou--"
Jessica, using the voice: *"N O V E I L"*
Denis: "Ok costume team burn all her veils!"
I read this and saw it in my mind as a real scene in the movie
Very good! XD
Jessica : "Do you really think I need a veil to look mysterious ?"
She killed her role as Jessica, her facial expressions made it so much better...
Dune 2 is now one of the top 20 rated films of all time.

Okay, we'll take note
She looks absolutely beautiful in that film scene.
Beauty and all that but her role demands we see her face and expression. The film wouldn’t have it has hard has it did if we could see her face. Her eyes were piercing haunting and cold. She was perfect in the role

Lady Jessica... Love that character and Ferguson portrayed her perfectly!
She is an amazing actress, and good looking
She was great in different ways in both films. I love when she gets a chance to show her breadth... 👍
This woman is one of the best actresses to come to prominence in the last 20 years: she steals every scene she’s in. And not an ounce of ego. Love her.
She literally said she had an ego...
I think the same. Doesn't matter if the movie is bad or good , she Will be fun to watch.

Thanks for that Rebbeca, hiding this woman's face would be a mistake, she is very expressive and also beautiful to watch, but I understand the director, when Paul comes into the"building" and she is waiting there all covered, is a great great scene, powerful.
She should’ve finished the book so she would’ve been forewarned 😂
Well in the book she gets a 3-year time skip and a demon-kid as a mini-me buddy. I'd be disappointed too.
She was terrifying as Lady Jessica in part 2.
the final look I thought was fantastic, we could still see her performance in every scene
She might get the academy award for best supporting actress
Calm down. This is like the first movie that got people to watch. There's a lot to come.
Honestly, although she was great, I’m not sure she had enough screen time
I hope they campaign this, she does deserve the recognition of her work..
@@adarshmishra9685what? I’m not sure what you’re trying to say here but you’re also wrong on both points. Part one nearly 5x its budget and villeneuve is making one more movie adapting messiah. And none of that has anything to do with her getting nominated or winning an academy award for this film specifically. So what, exactly, are you trying to say
Nah, Shai-Hulud will win. The Academy are obsessed with recognising the contribution of indigenous actors right now.
She is awesome for sharing that she was able to stand up for what she wanted
She is so authentic and is not afraid to say what she thinks.....even if the Director gets his way! So cute!

Having the veil off was such a great idea! She's beautiful!
I can't remember her first line she said to Paul when she was telling him to drink the poison, but she said two lines to him in Freman. Something like "you will see. The beauty an the horror".
Gave me chills when I first saw/heard that.
the only thing Villeneuve changed is Alia not being born in Part 2. i don't remember much the story from the book, but i think in other on-screen adaptations it is explained that The Water of Life also speeds up embryo development other than giving it early consciousness. (Part 1 and Part 2 is actually one book.)
also Raban.
Well that means the second film occurs over three months and not 6-8, as is clearly shown.... That's even worse than what they ended up with! 8 months isn't even enough to free a planet in possession of a crime syndicate for centuries. The book had it extended over three years. So now you're telling me it didn't even take 6-8 months, it took... 3-4? 😂😂😂😂
This film is such trash, and people are praising it to high heaven, but even simple logic can't be bothered to stick around for it.

Her eyes... She's looking at the camera! Can I just put this one on repeat for a while. 😍
She really is lovely.
she is AMAZING in these two DUNE features❤❤❤❤❤
I still don’t understand how she was only paid 600k compared to her other co stars who earned millions.
Because she's not a big name. Those who earned millions are far bigger names, have been nominated for and won major awards like Oscars and Emmy's, and have been in multiple successful projects. That's normally how it works. The problem is when a male actor and female actor are both big names, but the man is given significantly more than the woman.
I’m so happy she admitted to having an ego about it. That makes me think she has LESS ego than most ironically.
