Refreshing to hear someone play this piece without the need to hurry! No distracting technical wizardry (even though he's clearly capable), but just pure expression. Love it.

By far the best rendition of this piece. He should have won the 1st prize.

I know, right?? To be honest I like Avdeeva a lot, Ingolf is incredible and of course Daniil is one of the best pianists right now, but something about this young man's playing is just magical, not only that he is a great pianist but imo his playing is unique, I got to the point where I could distinguish him from other just by hearing, he brings a lot of amazing colours, voicings and effects that are very unique and fresh, my favorite pianist currently!

I mean this performance is certainly quite unorthodox as far as tempo is concerned, I can see the appeal. Have you tried listening to Lhevinne's rendition of this piece? It is my favorite.

combination yes I did, Lhevinne's is incredibly accurate but I prefer this, gives a breathlessness you don't normaly hear in this etude, 1:05 for example is utterly magical, and btw, the tempo is spot on

늘 마우리치오 폴리니의 연주만 들었는데 이 곡에 한해 있어서 이분의 연주가 훨씬 더 아름답네요. 왼손의 아름다움..
