My battery is failing on my w204 C180 K from the signs you've mentioned, but it's still okay I guess. If I go more than 3 days without starting the car it won't start.
It will still turn on when in the 2nd turn sequence, but won't start. I still plan on changing it soon, before it becomes inconvenience.

Khumo - You can always buy a voltmeter to make sure it is actually the battery. But based on the symptoms you've described, it's certainly a bad battery.

@@8020Media I actually took it to a shop to test it. They said it was still okay to use, but a replacement was recommended and not necessary. I'm still gonna get tdhat voltmeter though. It's a very useful tool

Khumo - Great! Thanks for sharing your experience. For the cost, it's great to keep in the garage!

one more, start the car with multimeter check the voltage on battery terminals, if its not near 14v means alternator is bad.

Long story short. Car died. I have lights. Wants to crank but doesn't. Jump just fine. Had battery tested. Meter says 648 (not sure if that's good or not. Battery says 640-800) but they said the battery is good. Cranked just fine then too. Got home. Not alternator but range is between jumping between 12-13. Seems a little low according to video. Cranked again just fine. I'm so confused. Going to let it sit overnight and try again in the morning. Sounds like battery but I guess a starter can fail at any time.

@@8020Media it was the battery. Finally read bad in the "zone" parking lot.

Tried to crank my van yesterday afternoon. Wouldn’t turn over and no ac or radio. The night before I sat at my son’s practice in van cranked with AC on for a couple hours…do you think that killed the battery?

Yes that will definitely do it, Ive flatlined my fair share of batteries by doing that. The alternator charges the battery but if the engine isn't on the battery is the only source of power for the car, at least that is the case for older cars (think pre 2015 give or take). So your issue most likely is a drained battery, you might not need to buy a new one call your nearest auto parts store (advanced auto parts, autozone, etc.) and ask them if they test and charge betteries, majority of them do for free. The issue would be transportation to and from the store because the best way to charge a battery is overnight on a trickle/slow charger.

@@bdj1335 my van was cranked, it was idling with AC on. But just sitting for a couple hours, not moving and I drove it home after the practice. Just wouldn’t turn over the next day. I haven’t tried jumping it off yet. Hopefully it will crank with a jump so I can take it to an auto shop and test the battery.

@@8020Media well, I had my alternator replaced 3 months ago. So I was pretty sure it was the battery. Took it to Advance Auto Parts on Saturday and their little machine said it was the alternator, so of course I took it to my mechanic. He said it was the battery. Replaced the battery yesterday and seems to be running fine…just wondering why Advance said it was the alternator. ??? Praying it is ok and the battery will be the only problem.
