As a newer Pokemon fan and fan of the channel, thank you sincerely for including your own captions! Any sort of fandom content with made up names, conlangs, or even foreign real languages makes for incredibly inaccessible videos for Deaf people like me when creators rely on YT’s auto captions (even straightforward English gets HORRIBLY butchered and makes it a task to find any accessible videos on _any_ topic) and most of my Pokemon experience so far has just been _look at the cool pictures..._ I feel like I actually learn things from you guys. Thank you for your interest in keeping your work more inclusive!
Hey, Matt here. I got this comment during a cappella rehearsal so I couldn't respond right away. I'm really glad people appreciate the closed captions. It's a real shame they're not more widespread on RUclips, because a lot of people do scripted videos. If you have a script, you can literally just copy and paste it and RUclips will sync up the captions for you. Aside from adding in all the tangents Elias and I go on in post, that's all we have to do. It's really easy to do, so I wish more creators took advantage
@@MEPlaysGamesI think that a lot of people just assume no one will ever really _need_ them, so even the small amount of effort doesn’t seem worth it. People seem to find it VERY easy to forget (or ignore) that disabled people exist in their everyday world. I’m an incomplete quadriplegic and I rely on a wheelchair, and even living in a fairly walkable city, accessibility just doesn’t exist here. Even stores on flat ground tend to have big bulky displays that crowd and clutter the entrance, making it impossible to get in, and places without steps and ledges are very far between so losing even one can mean losing my access to an entire service/product/whatever altogether. I’m bold enough to sit there and ask someone to move whatever isn’t bolted down so I can get in, but the next time I come back, everything is back in the same place. They probably assume that this was the only time they’d ever encounter a disabled person, so permanent changes aren’t necessary. Similarly I frequent the business meetings for my AA and NA home groups a lot with my aide and we’ve brought up the fact that there only 1-2 wheelchair accessible meetings _throughout the entire week,_ in a city where you can easily go on the Meeting Finder apps and find 50+ meetings total per day. Why are they renting these church lofts that are 3+ stories up, school basements, etc. 7 days a week instead of giving some more meetings to the accessible spaces that they’re clearly already aware exist? At one meeting we were literally told “no one really needs that” so they like sticking to spaces with a reputation for hosting already. Maybe there are so few disabled people in our programs because there’s no way for them to attend? It’s just endlessly frustrating and people will very quick to pity you, but not to make any actual effort to fix it. Even if it’s not a lot of work, you guys clearly have a lot of heart for your audience, and that means a whole lot more to me. Inputting the script may be easy enough but it seems like the willingness to acknowledge the disabled community at all _isn’t_ for most people. As small a task as it is, it makes a huge difference for me, and certainly others. I really hope your rehearsal went well! If you guys have a Kofi or tip jar of any sort, I’d love to buy you all some coffees for after the show!
Yeah the reason I do captions is twofold. One, it makes the videos more accessible, which is just an objectively good thing. They're more enjoyable for people who need the subtitles, which in turn means more viewers for me and Elias. It's a win win for everybody. And the other reason is that I talk really fast, so a lot of people find the need to turn them on to find out what on earth I just said. It's in our best interest to do closed captions for all sorts of reasons. I've genuinely thought about making a video about how to caption your videos, cuz the auto caption tool seems like something a lot of RUclipsrs gloss over or are just completely unaware of. I haven't figured out the best way to go about doing that though. I hear you on people forgetting/ignoring disabled people though. I live in New York City, and the subway here is really not great if you need elevators. There are 472 stations, and only about 140 are accessible. I'm not sure what the ratio is like in other cities, but the fact that some people just can't use 70% of the stations is rough. Most of the stations were built before ADA compliance became mandatory, but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people have to take more convoluted routes because they need an elevator. The city is working to add elevators and such to all of the stations, but that process is going to take decades. It really is a shame that disabled people are an afterthought in a lot of people's minds, so I'm glad I can at least do my part and make these videos nicer to watch. No pressure to send us money of course, but I think the best way to do that would be via Super Thanks here on RUclips. Somewhere under the video there should be a Thanks button that lets you leave a comment alongside a tip. That's the closest thing we have to a tip jar at the moment. Have a great night man :)
The reason for Hi Jump Kick's glitched crash damage in Gen 1 is that the game checks the damage the move dealt - which on a miss is 0, increased to the minimum of 1 - instead of what it would've dealt if it hit.
Not to mention the Coin Case glitch in Gold and Silver which you can manipulate to get any Pokemon your heart desires. For instance, you could turn a Pidgey caught on Route 1 into a Lugia with this glitch! It's pretty awesome. The glitch even works in the Virtual Console versions, and as long they are at a legal level and have a legal moveset, they can go through Pokemon Bank no problem, meaning you can transfer them to gen 7 and up! It was fixed in Crystal, though.
can I go into some constructive criticism? like, really constructive, im drunk tho, helping the algorith or smth, just lmk, ion wanna dirt up your channel 😭
You are better than the you of the past as long as you strive to improve yourself. Wallowing in despair about who you once were will not change the fact that you’ve changed, so become a better version of yourself with each passing day. While you may not be better than everyone, you are still important. Also, no.
I programmed all of these into the game on purpose

Actually, Silvally could learn all three Pledge moves, but it could only be taught Grass Pledge due to a coding error.
Now because of Elias, we need Iron Deluge to be a move. Same thing as it’s Ion variant, but the moves become Steel-type instead.
he forgot the thing with castform in gen 4 where if acid rain is up, castform eternally loops between the 3 forms until the end of time
Same with Cherrim.
6:44 Yeah, that feels like you're invoking a jinx.
Sorry, Elias. You're doomed to take pinky toe crash damage on your next High Jump Kick.
I swear that the 1/256 glitch only comes up when I'm in a bad situation playing gen 1 😭🙏
if a pokemon with the levitate ability or is a flying type uses dig, how does earthquake still not affect it?
It takes 0:00 for Sableye to appear in a MEPlaysGames video about broken glitches in Pokémon.
8:38 i see they tried removing rng for ion deluge here 😂

Yay another meplaysgames!
🗣️RIVAL FIVAL🔥🔥🔥
Underrated RUclips channel!!!
Oh come on not going to mention pokemon stadium's 1/65536 chance to miss a 100% accurate move?
can I go into some constructive criticism? like, really constructive, im drunk tho, helping the algorith or smth, just lmk, ion wanna dirt up your channel 😭
Matt i can beatbox :D
Gen 1 fun.
Hi

No.
No.
