Great video and content. Coincidentally, I received my new CW C60 Elite 1000 after many weeks of research. After wearing my new C60 Elite 1000 for nearly 30 days, it is…by far…my favorite watch I’ve ever owned. Superb quality, feel, and the chronometer is unbelievably accurate (losing ~ .5 second per day when compared to atomic clock). And it will not be the last Christopher Ward that I’ll own.

Beautiful watch. That case shape is gorgeous and shapely, conforming to the wrist. The see thru sapphire back, show casing that fantastic movement is a very nice feature to this watch. I am a firm believer, that price is not an object, when the product warrants it, and this Christopher Ward is well worth the purchase price. Really enjoyed the review. Thanks for sharing.
I could not decide between the white and black dial C60 Trident Pro 300. So I wound up getting both of them in 42 mm, and still can't decide which is my favourite. Ordered both of them with CW. bracelets, which are terrific, featuring both quick-release and quick-adjusment. The black one comes sailing and kayaking, either on the bracelet or a black/orange CW nylon/rubber hybrid strap. Lately, however, the white one is sporting a black CW vintage oak leather strap with white stitching, which really sets this watch off for dry land occasions.
Oops, make that a black/red hybid nylon/rubber strap, for the black Trident Pro 300. I have a black/orange one as well, but this is a better colour match for my "orca black" Aquitane GMT. The latter is my all-time favourite CW watch.
@@craigkam689 I have a 7 inch wrist and my Trident Pro's are all 42 mm. I also have a CW Aquitane GMT which is 41 mm and other watches in 40 mm. I prefer the 42 mm size in a diver watch, both for visibility an ease of operating the bezel. I find the 40 mm size a bit small in a tool watch.

Hey James. I found your channel and have really been enjoying your reviews! A few weeks ago a Watchfinder & Co video for the new Christopher Ward The 12 came up on my RUclips feed and I instantly fell in love. My wife has ordered it for me for our 10th wedding anniversary. While looking through their watches I came across the C60 Trident Pro 300 and thought it looked like a really nice watch with really good specs. I searched for videos which led me here. I’ve also been Looking at the Ginault Silent Service. I watched your video on the OR2 and was wondering which of the 2 watches you prefer? I know you love the C60 but how do feel the 2 watches compare? Thank you in advance for your reply.
Hello. Thank you so much for subscribing. I appreciate your support. It is a really good question about CW vs Ginault. Both are made, finished and feel fantastic. I have been blown away by both. I do think the CW has a lot more interesting (wow factor) details. I also feel that CW would be a better long term purchase as it comes from a bigger company and may be easier to resell if you want to.
I guess my problem is that the Sub is my favourite watch but due to Rolex and their AD’s business practices it will be next to impossible for me to get my hands on one. Also the cost is absolutely ridiculous. The Silent Service has the Sub case shape but enough other changes that it isn’t a copy. I don’t have issues with homages. I think it’s an amazing looking watch. I actually like the look of it more than the real deal. The Trident is an amazing looking watch as well. The light catcher case looks so comfy and just looks awesome. The dial and bezel look amazing as well. The hands(especially the second hand), the indices and the 6 o’clock date window are just about perfect. The bracelet with the on the fly adjust in combination with the case shape will be so comfortable. I guess at the end of the day it comes down to the company. CW is a way larger company that I expect to be around for way longer than Ginault. I feel more confident in getting warranty or service with CW.
That is a hard question. They are both amazing. I feel the black is a better everyday watch we’re as the white is a bit more of a dressy version. But really they are both great
They are great looking watches, mine broke within three months and I still need to send it back, mine simply stopped one day. I am not a fan of the Selitta movements based on the 2824.
As far as I’m aware it is the water resistance and the things required to make it more water resistant. 300m vs 600m. The thickness of the watch is about 1.5mm thicker. Plus it seems that the old logo is still present on the 600. Thanks for WATCHing
I have a 17cm wrist and the 40 is perfect for me. But it depends on what you like on wrist. I think the 42 would also fit. But I prefer the look of the 40
@@WATCHingJames On its way ; ) I will have a couple of Rolex's, and a couple of Omegas on hand to compare to. The clasp on one of the Omegas does not close properly, so hopefully it has that beat lol.
Yep what a fantastic watch indeed, priced well below what it could be that’s for sure, so much to love about it and so little to gripe, I adore my C63 Sealander and I might just get myself one of these one day too
Hey james, just curious to know if your opinion on this model still.holds true in 2024 as ive been debating on a black/white trident for a few months. Would be keen to hear if you'd recommend this model or if another has come round and impressed you over the last few months
It is still the best watch I have come across. But it still needs to be the right one for you. I ended up selling it to help buy a previous generation C65 from Christopher Ward. I still think the C60 is a better watch. But the C65 fits my collection better.
Both are great. I bought the black as it felt like the obvious choice. But when I borrowed the white I did question my decision. That is probably not helpful at all. Hahaha sorry. Go with the one you prefer, fits your collection and you would wear more often.
The one that you reviewed seems to have less taper to the clasp than the 42mm I bought. The 40mm is 20mm lug width, and guessing tappers to about 16mm, with about an 18mm clasp? I'm thinking the 42mm (and possibly 38mm) uses the same clasp and 16mm screwed links, with just different links getting bigger towards the end links/case. Its a shame that they cut corners on the bracelet, because it means the 42mm does not look as good as the 40mm dimensionally IMO : (
@@WATCHingJames Your video helped me a lot, thanks. The 40mm looked much better IMO and its probably the one most will buy. Take care and enjoy your watches ; )
James, this is truly a fantastic watch. I got the white dial 40mm version in March and have the same feeling as you. I do think the bezel action is far superior to Seiko. If someone offered me a real Submariner in trade (obviously ridiculous) for my Pro 300 I would only accept to then sell it and buy several CW watches. I like this watch more than Rolex or Omega divers. Hopefully CW doesn't see this and raise prices more than they just did.
I haven't handeled one myself and i havent seen one here in Israel either. I have been interested in cw in the past but always thought they're overpriced. No disrespect James im just curious. Do you really think its a good value for money? At this price range there are incredible swiss/jdms out there. If you do i might have to get a closer look at cw.. Thank you for the review, if i might add the watch in itself is awesome!
Only skipped through this one but I think you've mentioned your wrist-size in another CW-video ... 6.75 inches, IIRC? If so... I might just be able to pull off the 40mm on my similarly sized wrist (17cm). Re CW: I only own two Steinharts, a San Martin Tudor GMT Pepsi homage and the 39mm CW Sealander ... and out of those, the CW does stand out WRT quality and finishing. It's pretty close between Steinhart and CW, but I think the CW is more highly finished - and I prefer the case-shape and the way it sits on wrist. Still: It doesn't come with an elaboré grade SW200 (Steinharts do) and it wasn't as tightly regulated. I've owned seven Steinharts altogether, and they all had way better regulation out of the box than my Sealander.
@@WATCHingJames Good to know because I'm very close to selling my C63 and getting that Trident 300. Just wasn't sure if I'd need the 38 or if the 40mm would work for me (male end-links and all that). Thanks for the info! :)
It is the best watch I have owned but there are a a few reasons why I sold it. Nothing against the watch. I am already on my search for another CW. Which is one of the reasons I sold mine. Only so many watches I can own.
Hahaha wow not only good but very good!! How much did Christopher Ward payed you?!!!!! You should compare it with Longines hydro conquest and see how it will stand!!!!
I wish. CW if you are reading this feel free to send me some free watches. I have the hydroconquest as well. Both are fantastic. But I have to say. The CW is a bit better. Not to say I like it more. But it just has a number of things that really push it ahead. Better clasp, no polish on the bracelet and date at the 6.
Yesterday I ordered a C60 in black, it will match the glasses. I'm confused because my white diver is missing from my collection. In my opinion, black is the paradigm of the collection and has better readability of the C60 Trident, while white has a sophisticated character. Thank you for your help and great video.
@@WATCHingJames I have also been eyeing the Ginault Silent Service. What is your thoughts on that one vs the Trident as it relates to value and brand status?
I’ve had hands on with a Ginaut but not that model. They are exceptional quality. And I actually like the look of the new model. But I think the argument is sting for the CW. As good quality, A bigger brand and a lot more wow factor. (Details)
@@WATCHingJames I agree. I think for a potential $1k plus purchase I am leaning CW. I signed up for their magazine and promos hoping they will send out a $125 coupon (which apparently they do from time to time). Thanks for responding! -from Austin TEXAS
Are all of you employed by CW? This presentation is a laughable in its effort to sell a relatively unknown, uninteresting, uninnovative watch that sells for about 10 times its worth and suffering quality issues. Superlative bunched upon superlatives - quite nauseatiing. The hysterically worshipping comments makes me doubt their provenience - why are there no negative ones? Buy a Longines, Certina or Tissot. Just one question: How much did CW pay you for this sermon?
I own a black faced 38mm, the build quality at that price point is unmatched. It’s an absolute strap monster too! Fantastic review!

Hello, I can't decide whether to get the black or the white one, which is more elegant?
That is a hard question. They are both amazing.
I feel the black is a better everyday watch we’re as the white is a bit more of a dressy version.
But really they are both great
Thanks, very much!!! What your wrist? 🥰
17cm. This 40mm is perfect for my wrist size.
I want one, in 42mm. Just can't yet decide on white or black dial.
Both are fantastic. It is a hard choice
They are great looking watches, mine broke within three months and I still need to send it back, mine simply stopped one day. I am not a fan of the Selitta movements based on the 2824.
That’s very disappointing to hear. I’m sure they will fix it for you
@@WATCHingJames I am sure that they will.
What’s the difference between the C60 pro 300 and 600?
As far as I’m aware it is the water resistance and the things required to make it more water resistant.
300m vs 600m.
The thickness of the watch is about 1.5mm thicker.
Plus it seems that the old logo is still present on the 600.
Thanks for WATCHing
I’d like to buy it, but I’m unsure about the sizing. My wrist is 18 cm, so should I choose 40 or 42? I think that the fit you have is perfect.
I have a 17cm wrist and the 40 is perfect for me.
But it depends on what you like on wrist.
I think the 42 would also fit. But I prefer the look of the 40
Two Things. I would like a curved crystal anf less numbers on the bezel.
That would also look great. Thanks for WATCHing
Nicer than a Rolex!!
I will confirm that tomorrow when mine arrives.
I would love to hear your thoughts when it does.
@@WATCHingJames On its way ; )
I will have a couple of Rolex's, and a couple of Omegas on hand to compare to.
The clasp on one of the Omegas does not close properly, so hopefully it has that beat lol.
Yep what a fantastic watch indeed, priced well below what it could be that’s for sure, so much to love about it and so little to gripe, I adore my C63 Sealander and I might just get myself one of these one day too
I’ve been looking at there other offerings.
But trying hard not to buy anything at the moment.
I might have missed this in your video, but what is your wrist size. Looks great on you and trying to decide between 40mm or 42mm
17cm
Hey james, just curious to know if your opinion on this model still.holds true in 2024 as ive been debating on a black/white trident for a few months. Would be keen to hear if you'd recommend this model or if another has come round and impressed you over the last few months
It is still the best watch I have come across.
But it still needs to be the right one for you.
I ended up selling it to help buy a previous generation C65 from Christopher Ward.
I still think the C60 is a better watch. But the C65 fits my collection better.
@@WATCHingJames amazing to hear. Now to try and decide on black or white dials! As you compared them, do you have anything to note on either?
Both are great. I bought the black as it felt like the obvious choice.
But when I borrowed the white I did question my decision.
That is probably not helpful at all. Hahaha sorry.
Go with the one you prefer, fits your collection and you would wear more often.
Quick correction. Elabore movement is actually the lowest standard of selilta quality movements. They have 2 standards above this.
Thank you. That’s good to know.
Thanks for WATCHing
Nah they have a standard, then Elabore, then top grade, then chronometer. It's 2 of 4.
Its a shame that they cut corners on the bracelet, because it means the 42mm does not look as good as the 40mm dimensionally IMO : (
I’ve only seen the 40mm version and had not considered that issue with the bracelet.
Thanks for WATCHing
@@WATCHingJames Your video helped me a lot, thanks.
The 40mm looked much better IMO and its probably the one most will buy.
Take care and enjoy your watches ; )
Is it better than Certina DS action diver 38 mm?
I’ve not had hands on with a Certina yet.
The DS does look good.
@@WATCHingJames I have 43 mm Certina and I was looking for a change to smaller one. CW looks good to me. Never seen it in person.
great watch. what is your wrist size ? cheers
It is a fantastic watch. My wrist is 17cm
I have had that same exact thought. Thanks for WATCHing
I really do. It is really really good.
I’ve handled a lot of watches in this price category.
Nothing compares.
Well at least in my opinion.
Absolutely worth the money.
Does the $1490 price include all taxes and duty for Australian deliveries?
They have free delivery but Australia imposes the 10% GST.
Anything over $1000 imported into Australia has GST added unfortunately.
@@WATCHingJames thanks James, appreciate that!
Yes. We have the same size wrists.
I love Steinhart too. I have owned two of theirs.
Thanks for WATCHing
@@WATCHingJames Good to know because I'm very close to selling my C63 and getting that Trident 300. Just wasn't sure if I'd need the 38 or if the 40mm would work for me (male end-links and all that). Thanks for the info! :)
Which one did you go with? Same size wrist and im torn at the moment@@1SaG
i would only want the casback to be steel with trident logo
That would look great too.
What is your wrist size?
17cm
Yes! CW is absolutely brilliant. Before I 'went little ' I owned three - just amazing watches.
I’m really impressed with it.
Very nice
It certainly is
A shame you no longer have this.
It is the best watch I have owned but there are a a few reasons why I sold it.
Nothing against the watch.
I am already on my search for another CW.
Which is one of the reasons I sold mine.
Only so many watches I can own.
@@WATCHingJames all good.
Is it me or is the clasp on the bracelet kind of too large/long??
I think on the smaller versions it could be seen as a bit large. But in the 40 and especially the 42 I feel it’s the right size.
Ouch, -7spd dial up? That's pretty awful. I've ordered a c63 36mm, hopefully, it performs better than that.
Thanks for WATCHing
Hahaha wow not only good but very good!! How much did Christopher Ward payed you?!!!!! You should compare it with Longines hydro conquest and see how it will stand!!!!
I wish. CW if you are reading this feel free to send me some free watches.
I have the hydroconquest as well. Both are fantastic. But I have to say. The CW is a bit better.
Not to say I like it more. But it just has a number of things that really push it ahead.
Better clasp, no polish on the bracelet and date at the 6.
Black or white?
A very hard question because they both look great.
@@WATCHingJamesIs the readability of a white watch good?
Very good. They really are both incredible. It comes down to personal taste and how the watch will fit into your collection.
Yesterday I ordered a C60 in black, it will match the glasses. I'm confused because my white diver is missing from my collection. In my opinion, black is the paradigm of the collection and has better readability of the C60 Trident, while white has a sophisticated character. Thank you for your help and great video.
The bracelet is nice, but still shy of the quality of current production Rolex.
I’m so impressed with it. Thanks for WATCHing
👍
👍
Don't like the thin bezel , not a divers bezel at all too sporty looking watch it's realy somewhere in between being a diver and dressy watch
Thanks for WATCHing
Better bracelet than a Rolex? Are you serious?
Thanks for WATCHing
How much more black could that dial be? The answer is none...none more black!
Thanks for WATCHing
Who is the elusive and misunderstood Christopher Ward?
Hahahahahhahaha. I don’t know but he is taking a lot of my money.
I just bought my second CW
Looking at the 42 blue on the bracelet. The ‘want’ is strong with this one. Your video is not helping me save money 😅
Hahahaha. I would say sorry but with this watch it is hard not to say buy it.
It is just that good.
Thanks for WATCHing
@@jasonchatham4170any luck with a coupon yet? I just signed up recently also.
Hahahahahahaha. I wish.
I’ve owned two CWs. Both I bought second hand.
Thanks for WATCHing
I don't like any of them watches
Thanks for WATCHing
An art brand with completely overpriced watches... meh... i would never buy this scrap...
Thanks for WATCHing
Don't be a jackwagon...a fool speaks before listening. Someone who appreciates horology would know better than to comment such a thing.
Overpriced? Don't think you know much about watches mate.
@@WH-hi5ew Go and buy the overpriced crap and shut up 🤣👍
