Just saw Tom in concert two months ago. He is 80 now and still sounds exactly like he did in the 60s. His show was fantastic and it was sold out. He talked about taking care of his voice and not abusing it. He is a gem. Thanks for your great reaction. 👏👏🇨🇦
Young man, quit saying you are stupid in so many reactions I have listened to you do. You are learning, and you strive to learn, no matter the subject. That’s not stupid. That’s smart.
@@lisal6121 Yes, i agree. But being ignorant isn't bad, ignorance is just a lack of knowledge. Stupidity, on the other hand is having knowledge, but refusing to use/accept it. We're all born ignorant & innocent to the world outside the womb. As the saying goes, there's no such thing as a "stupid" question. A question is just that - an inquiry, seeking information that you don't currently have. And yes, no shame in asking. The shame lies with those who pretend to know it all or take their little bit of knowledge & blow it out of proportion, so as to look like the expert on everything. I have a few of those in my family! Always so entertaining...🤣
Sir Tom Jones has a huge catalogue of work, he was great friends with Elvis and they'd sing together after their shows in Las Vegas, Sir Tom became the oldest person to have a number one album a couple of years ago age 80, there is also a female counterpart Dame Shirley Bassey she'll be 86 in January still working and from Wales albeit a different part from her long-term friend Sir Tom, between them they've sold out venues across the world since the early 1960's and sold around 400million records between them
Yes, "It's Not Unusual" is a very short song. In his 1968 appearance on "The Ed Sullivan Show", Tom Jones performed his song on his set, but there was still some extra time left before the commercial break. Ed Sullivan asked Jones to perform one more song, and he said "Yes", and performed an even quicker version of "It's Not Unusual" to close out the segment of the show.
I was born in 1956 grew up through all this stuff the TV the concerts all that stuff 70s 60s 80s used to watch his stuff with my folks on TV Ed Sullivan night Sunday night's Channel 2 unbelievable
If you want to hear Tom at his best and will tear your heart out you definitely have to watch the video of I’ll Never Fall In Love Again !!! Will blow your mind ❤
Back in the day I did a lot of shows as the stage and tours and stuff like that I did one show with Tom Jones he's a sweat and dude the ladies love him
Some people were able to hold their breathe longer than this song lasted! Yes, it wasa huge hit. Especially after footage of his dance antics hit TV. I’m sure old Ed Sullivan, who I watched every week as a kid, had Tom Jones reined in pretty tightly. Sending this out 3 times may have been an audience response test for him getting his own TV show. I don’t remember if both shows were on the same network or not. Great reaction video, young man! Thank you.
Sir Tom still has an amazing voice today. On the UK voice he still sings during intervals between singers. The Welsh are well-known for being amazing singers
Def famous for this song..❤❤❤ back in the day our parents used to jokingly say.. " u know Tom got some"black," in him. Back in the 60s we loved some Tom & the Rightous Brothers.❤❤❤❤❤
His first big hit. ALFONSO RIBEIRO PLAYED Carlton on Fresh Prince of Bel Air and did the Carlton dance to this song. Tom Jones hair in naturally curly, he and Elvis were good friends. That's how singers dressed for tv in the 60's. Women went wild when he performed. That booming voice and tight pants were fire. Note the Elvis side burns, still going strong at 80.
In the 50s and 60s, and into the 70s, most songs were under 3 minutes because radio stations would not play songs longer than that. Once FM radio became popular in the 70s, longer songs were being played. Music composing changed in the 2000s and became more homogenous w fewer instruments. I read an article that studied how key changes in a song, a musical note change in a song which used to be popular and by their nature have to be deliberately written, have completely disappeared in the 2000s. I guess nobody wants to pay music composers anymore. That's a real shame!
I wish you would stop saying that you’re stupid. Anyone who wants to do research and educate themselves is very smart. Always keep learning. I appreciate you and your reactions
Tom has naturally curly hair. I am not sure what that style would have been called back then. I was only five and I was in love with Tom Jones and Elvis Presley.
I remember my oldest sister and my mom ( mother of six) both had terrible crushes on Tom Jones let's face it he had a fantastic voice, although I'm not so sure that his tight pants didn't make the women swoon just that much more! I mean a handkerchief with his sweat on it was golden,in league with Elvis!! OMG to get a kiss from Sir Tom Jones? I should have been so lucky! I believe my dad was exactly pleased with the reaction from my mom.
You should see his more recent cover with The Cardigans of “Burning Down the House” by the Talking Heads- it’s just as groovy as his cover of Prince’s “Kiss” with The Art of Noise!
My first viewing of your channel was, "Delilah" on Sullivan show. There is another vid, possibly the one we are about to watch, that he sang, It's not Unusual, followed by Danny Boy and then the Delilah that you saw. Those 3 were back to back in that episode.
To singers watching any of Tom Jones' performances, look how wide he opens his mouth, getting as much volume from his diaphragm and throat as possible.
This was the song that catapulted Tom. It was his first hit and went to Number One in the UK. Here’s Tom on ‘The Fresh Prince’ as Carlton’s Godfather and they both riff on ‘It’s Not Unusual:’ ruclips.net/video/RaBDE_8DLag/видео.html
You say the women loved him. Well, as a young teenager, I used to watch the Tom Jones Show, and the women, during the beginning of the show as he was singing, would throw their lingerie up on the stage at him. I think you might be correct! 🤣
In the first video: What kind of haircut? A typical cut for the day with sideburns. His hair is so thick and curly that it looks puffy. But I guarantee you Glen Campbell had the same haircut with sideburns ( & also had his own tv show now that I think of it!)❤ I enjoy your reactions! I liked the 2nd performance in b&w best!❤
Most of these older clips you see were shot on film and then broadcast over the air. So the original master is much better than more recent recordings on SD video.
You've reacted to Tom Jones when he was in his 20's.....here's one from his 80's. It's a tribute to his wife of 50+ years that passed away a couple of years ago. He still has the ability to project his vocals....he's still smooth....he still gets you to "feel" what he's singing. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/_KhORNfgGJs/видео.html
You want to really listen to horns, try reacting to this track of Tower of Power a band that is in existence over 50 years and still going on strong. The track is called Boys of the Bay, you would not regret it, it is a Funk/R&B band.
Please stop saying you're stupid! I have noticed you've said it in a few of your other videos, and it's not true. You are articulate and do a good job researching the songs and expressing yourself. Tom Jones is incredible. I think you should check out him on the Voice singing 'Cry To Me'. He was 81 years old and still sounds great. ruclips.net/video/aYC5qwekT-g/видео.html
YES! FAB REVIEW! THis is whenI was little- when people had REAL talent NO COMPUTER ALTERED MUSIC, FAKE MUSIC, Altered voices- NO WAY- you HAD TO HAVE REAL TALENT!!!! !Kim & Larry
To add to your Tom Jones journey, here is a video with Tom and another Welsh singer Englebert Humperdink ruclips.net/video/2o8r7upK2Ug/видео.html , has Tom singing a couple covers of other songs, and Tome and Englebert singing each others songs.

ok.. you need to react to this song one more time..... when Tom told the story behind the song and was enticed to do it ( The Voice UK )... ruclips.net/video/FIJpPJPrqw8/видео.html
He was lip syncing in the black and white Sullivan show. There was a mic above him picking up snaps and claps, but he wouldn't be singing live without a hand mic.
Again bro, you miss out by closing your eyes and turning away. I know I'm very different from most of the world's people, but when I watch a video, I try to see everything I can in it. I don't understand the turning away and not seeing the whole performance. Shalom!

Sir Tom Jones turned 82 last June!
Young man, quit saying you are stupid in so many reactions I have listened to you do. You are learning, and you strive to learn, no matter the subject. That’s not stupid. That’s smart.
Always ask a question if you don’t know something. It’s worse to pretend that you know what someone is saying and stay ignorant. No shame to ask.

OOOOOOH!!!! CHILLS! LOVE SIR TOM! KIm!
My favorite tune by Tom by far .... just wish it was longer.
You are not stupid … you are a lot of fun ! I enjoy your channel ! Keep doing what you are doing 👍🏻

Ed Sullivan had a great band. Everyone wanted to work with them back in the day
That’s Tom Jones’ band, not Ed Sullivans’.
The Welsh Elvis. And he's still going!
COOOL suitt Tom has on!!!! WE LOVE your enthusiasm for Tom Jones and the classic cooo vintage music! SUPER! Kim & Larry!
Back in the day I did a lot of shows as the stage and tours and stuff like that I did one show with Tom Jones he's a sweat and dude the ladies love him

FYI .... Tom and Elvis were the best of friends.
Please check out "Green, green grass of home". I've always considered it to be part 2 to "Delilah". 😁
The aftermath for Tom being so "stabby" 🔪🤺🩸😵

Good observation. They did use overhead boom microphones.
I wish you would stop saying that you’re stupid. Anyone who wants to do research and educate themselves is very smart. Always keep learning. I appreciate you and your reactions
He is awesome! Love your reaction!
Rumor had it way back when…. That Tom was convinced that he was part black because of his hair. He did do a dna and that wasn’t true
Tom has naturally curly hair. I am not sure what that style would have been called back then. I was only five and I was in love with Tom Jones and Elvis Presley.
I was hoping you would do the Carlton dance!
Yeah he's the man! 👏😉

My mom had a HUGE crush on Tom Jones. It was the hip action I think, and that is so disturbing to me. Hahaha

That band leader had a lot of pep in his step too....
I always believed that Tom Jones has naturally curly hair.
☮️💙💙💙🔥don’t put yourself down Bub, love your reactions!

I LOVE HOW MUCH YOU LOVE TOM JONES. PLEASE REACTOR TO HIS VERSION OF PRINCE';S SONG KISS
Suggestion: "Luciano Pavarotti & Tom Jones - Delilah" (Live).
This song is on the prince of Bel-Airs the song Carlton sings all the time
You say the women loved him. Well, as a young teenager, I used to watch the Tom Jones Show, and the women, during the beginning of the show as he was singing, would throw their lingerie up on the stage at him. I think you might be correct! 🤣
Yes, back in the day when there were actually instruments played. Who would have thought.
Please react to his "I'll Never Fall In Love Again (1967)". It has to be one of his best ever!

Another great song of Janis's is "Get It While You Can." I think you'll like it!
"Sexbomb" by Tom..please..🥰
Gotcha Grace!

Hey bro., I found a video you'd like to see/hear of Tom Jones.
Called, "Third Rate Romance". He does a dance move that you'll flip out on.
Tom was the UK's Elvis.
His hair is real curly so when he has to have it short like that to make it look nice

There are several videos of Tom singing with Jennifer Hudson. Here’s one of them ruclips.net/video/RHX1eGISjMk/видео.html
He was lip syncing in the black and white Sullivan show. There was a mic above him picking up snaps and claps, but he wouldn't be singing live without a hand mic.
We didn't really have names for haircuts back then. Though men did start getting perms so they could try and style their hair like Tom Jones.
