I actually dont think the automatic light up for climbing is immersion breaking. My head cannot is that the focus is working in the background without Aloy activating a pulse, so it constantly shows all climbable surfaces. If we had this device in real life, I bet we all would have this function on lol
My PS4 controller is 4 years old and I'm worried pressing R3 every 10 second for pulse can lead to drifting or any other controller malfunction 😂 So this feature is helping a lot
But Aloy is an expert climber, she would have no need for the Focus to highlight holds up a rocky face, she would work out a route up the rock herself easily. At first I was missing some things using a minimal HUD display and not having the focus auto highlight climbing holds/herbs and resources off the ground but in a few hours of playing I'm fine with it now and I think it actually improves the gaming experience. Requires me to be more aware of what is all around me so I'm focussing a lot on the whole environment. And not having loads of luminous markers on the screen keeps it all looking cleaner
@@rd-ec1nm i actually use dynamic HUD so the game doesnt show me all them markers on collectables in game. However for climbing I still use the highlighted focus since to me it’s far easier to know what direction I can go. In lore wise have you actually tried to climb an up steep mountain! Visual aid like the focus device would be life saving as it shows not just where to climb but if the surface of the rocks can support one’s weight and hight! It’s a cool in game option I like it.
@@rd-ec1nm me too. The game already kinda hold your hand in climbing but with out the yellow highlight it would be damn near impossible to see climbable things. So I’m in the middle, I don’t Ming’s just clicking the stick to see where to climb and grab.
for me, I like the easy loot option. i also like that if you run out of berries and you have some in your inventory. just hold up on the d-pad and it will refill.
i didnt notice that easy loot now i can legit focus on just melee combat instead of wasting half the fight trying to salvage things and it makes even more sense when im stealth i hate i get a clean stealth kill and all the special parts just blow away it makes no sense being i did a precise clean kill those should be undamaged
Yeah they made it way more convenient to get health berries... it felt like in the first you'd spend forever getting health... and within seconds it is gone
And just a heads up alot of times if you shoot the part ya need off of the machine then kill it you can collect the one ya shot off and another from looting the body!!
@@wafflefrys4free you still get the loot on the body if you shot it off and looted it? Now that really is like cheating if you get double the amount of loot then
Easy loot: if you want to get easy loot without feeling like it’s cheating or too easy, set both “damage to Aloy” and “enemy health” to “hard” or “very hard”. This offsets not needing to snipe specific parts by increasing the price to pay for “easy” loot by making you work for it (and will cost more ammo and health resources for the battle) and now because enemies have more health and do more damage, stealth combat stays relevant. You’re welcome!
I'm surprised there's so much stuff to do in this game. I mean there was a lot in the first game but once you get out of the starting area it's easy to get overwhelmed with just how much stuff on the map there is. Me being a completionist and seeing all the question marks is gonna take up enough of my time as it is 😅
I don’t get when people say that. This game is gunna be out another 2-3 years or more so take your time and enjoy it. There’s no rush to complete 100 just take your time and enjoy the art.
I love it but I can’t bear a question mark on a map so I end up doing things presumably out of intended order as I don’t want to move onto the next section of map til first is clear. And if I assume the level rating of a task is an indicator of the order I’m at level 32 say with stuff varying from 19 upwards! I am trying to be better and of course there is still stuff I haven’t been able to complete cos you don’t get the right gear til you complete certain missions! Mind you ultimately I guess I don’t care cos I’m loving it all - apart from strike which frankly bamboozled my brain lol!
Fr bro... It will take forever to complete literally everything in the game lol🤣🤣 Especially the Question marks on the map... I felt so overwhelmed when I first saw the huge map lol
I found changing the weapon wheel slow down time to slower and then bringing it up when an enemy is winding up for an attack to be very useful, since you can still move and dodge with the wheel still up.
Yup thankfully found that out on my 2nd day of playing while in The Daunt it's such a lifesaver! You can do a similar action with smoke bombs and traps too. Potions will bring up a full mini menu which is also nice
Totally agree about Easy Loot. It takes away from the “hunting and gathering” aspect of the game. Half the fun of combat is trying to strip the right parts while not destroying others, to get max parts per fight.
You still have to "hunt and gather" with Easy Loot. You just don't have to prolong already tough fights by having to focus on shooting a very small section of the machine, while staying alive.
See I would make a point that it actually takes away half the fun from a fight having to worry about stripping the right components, etc. I like the idea of stripping components because it means an enemy can't use a certain attack, etc, but ultimately I want to be able to fuck up some machines how I see fit and not worry about the technicalities. Anything short of that is less fun. Perspectives. Glad the option is available so people can play how they want (I've been saying this shit for years).
@@catmoonkenobi My perspective is probably skewed from playing a LOT Monster Hunter. I see the upside of easy loot, I just enjoy the additional challenge.
@@dikardvondoom3574 Absolutely. Neither of us can be wrong about what we know is more fun for ourselves. Games should just feature more options like this so people can tailor the experience how they see fit - almost like this is just the tip of the iceberg. It's never hurt someone's experience playing a single-player on the hardest difficulty to have another player have it set to the easiest.
Easy loot is something I need turned on after playing for so many hours. The combat is way more frustrating in this game. In concentration mode, the enemies twitch like its still real time. And when you finally knock off a component, the enemies are so spastic they kick the dropped parts outside of the map
I never spent so much customising gameplay, HUD, and options until this game...it's sucking into my gaming time and even then I get distracted from the main story because of the overwhelming side quests, skills, weapons and everything else! 😅
That Easy loot will save us a lot of time when farming Fireclaws, those things are really annoying, and to trigger the chain reaction to get the sac webbing is hard.
Small tip is to change the order in how your focus works to have the focus scan be press R3 and Pulse be holding R3 all the way down so for us who played Zero Dawn who are used to the Scan beeing on R3 don't have to relearn keybindings and esp since u use the scan 100x more often then u use the pulse.
scroungers and scavengers will have more processed blocks if you let the scavenge other machines first, i have seen some with 20 or 30 from feeding them
I don't know if there's a correlation or not but I've found I can get more processed metal blocks after they've had a chance to munch on the scrap piles or dead machines a bit.
1:58 You just saved me a lot of time. That is more easy as fighting all the maschines just to get one part off. Or event hose which I should not destroy. Like that crocodile thing...
My OCD is thanking you more than you know right now🙏🏻 Lord knows I spend more time triple checking to make sure I didn't miss something, than I do just playing 😄
I already have thousands of berries in the stash. So if I remember to restock when I'm there I'm set, if not I already pick up every medicinal berry I come across. Either way, I'll never run out of berries 😅
to the northwest of scalding spear there is a giant fossil-like structure of what looks like a giant ancient machine. It's marked by a shelter between two sunwing sites. if you fly to the top of it, toward its southern tip, your flying mount can pick up a kind of "shock energy cell." you can have your flying mount drop this cell near any machine and it does incredible shock damage to a huge radius area. This "shock energy cell" infinitely respawns so you can do this as much as you want just depending on how far you want to take your flying mount from the area. I haven't finished the game so I don't know if this is supposed to be for a later mission or something but im at level 50 and have been doing this occasionally since unlocking the flying mount.
Oh my god, the immediate loading screen change is so helpful. I'm halfway through and definitely don't need tips. It's good to know you can take it off.
I have found auto sprint to be quite buggy when having to do any intensive jumping or climbing areas. It will frequently miss the contextual long jumps or not jump at all so I will fall down to the ground to water and have to redo a ton of climbing again and the only way to proceed is to turn off auto run temporarily.
I wish I didn’t know about it cause I love the fact that you HAVE to strategize during your fight to shoot off components…. And I’m afraid now I’m gonna turn it on when I struggle and out of all These it feels like cheating
Well I didn't know about easy loot and I'm going to use it. It's sometimes frustrating to try to shoot the parts you need and missing them. I knew quite a few of those tricks but not all of them.
Same! Like I’m aiming my bow at the part then the machine moves last minute and I miss. Or I’m aiming directly at the part and the bow decides to miss so annoying…
Quick tip to all those who seem to struggle with stalkers, bro just shoot it with an electrical arrow. One arrow is literally all it takes and that bitch is stunned for like 10 to 15 seconds if you don't break a piece of its gear off. Stalkers are a breeze for me and I'm playing on the HARDEST difficulty.
The idea of the parts breaking if you don't hit them instead of when you do hit them is just completely backwards. Easy Loot setting for the better logic.
The biggest tip i can give personally is if you need a quick way to take a machine down, hse the bracr shot ability. It gives some of the highest damage in the game if you can hit multiple weak points, even more with vaor surges.
As usual I enjoy all your clips, I'll be back for all tips when I get me a PS5 if I can find one and as usual continue to support and watch all videos I see you put out 👍🏾👍🏾
Wow you can buy things from vendors. And you can find scrounger components by killing scroungers. And you can read the Settings screens and change things. These are some deep "secrets"!
When running up to a ledge you can dodge roll right before you get there and Aloy will do a front flip and land on her feet and continue sprinting. Not sure if it’s a mechanics glitch or an intended feature.
Stuff like the easy loot are things that come into play for people with less time who maybe don't want to fight a dozen dreadwings to harvest teeth. Or the wild difficulty of the arena.
so im not sure you mentioned it in another video, but I didnt realise for the longest time the berries in your inventory count towards your healing, so when youre 0/14 you can hold up and it refills if you have medicinal berries! wish I knew that sooner!
about loading faster. If you press square to Resume Activity in PS5's game loader, it will load last save. Which lets you go from menu to Aloy in 5 seconds.
been playing for more than 48hrs and still just after meeting GAIA in THE BASE, haven't finish Demeter, Aether and Poseidon yet, and all I do is hunt machine parts for my weapon upgrades and weapon trades while playing on very hard, so that processed metal block farming and then just buy those heavy machines part on the contract vendors is very tempting.
What also comes pretty handy in terms of "time-wasting" is that you can turn the pick-up motion off, so she can just run through the wood and collect it without kneeling down every time. This, of course, doesn't work with looting machines, just plants and separate machine parts.
Huge MUST is max out the FOV. The standard FOV is ridiculously tiny, and even with the FOV set to max, you will still constantly get stuck on obstacles because the camera is so close to Aloy that you can't see any of the environment around her until you collide with it. The FOV is for some reason tucked away in the graphics settings. Another couple of graphics settings I'd strongly recommend changing is turning off all types of blur effects, including depth of field. These ironically slow your framerate despite making the world less clear. The depth of field effect also just looks really bad, with things that are supposed to be out of focus looking partly blurred, but somehow having perfectly sharp edges, unlike real life where things out of focus have blurred edges. My biggest issue with it however is how it prevents you from looking at all the gorgeous looking environments in the game during cutscenes, and instead force you to look at the characters' faces, which just highlights their imperfection. I swear the game looks 100x better with all the blur effects turned off, and I have started taking so many more screenshots of the beautiful things I see in this game after doing so.
OH MY GODS, I need custom difficulty for looting. I'm near the end of the game, and am now just trying to get the parts necessary to upgrade some of my gear, and the number of times I have to kill something when I just need one part and it isn't coming off, OR I get the part off and it doesn't contain the item I need because even with the part shot off it is a 16% drop. Thanks so much!
I went into this expecting to learn something, COMPLETELY forgetting that the first thing I do in every game is look at every single settings option.😅 Also, when you turn on the “Always glowy climb”, remember, it does disappear in photo mode. And I incorporated the quick weapon swap into my gameplay IMMEDIATELY because WOW those are useful for element-stacking.
Same Questionable 'reasoning' that truly Killed off the ultraweaver into it's nerfed state from back then. [Shrugged at that complaint *(**04:58**)* ] everyone. better take that advantage for granted before guerrilla probably tries to remove that feature too. [Chuckled a bit]
A lot of talk going on about how amazing the game is on the PS5 but not enough attention and commendation is going on for how good it is on Pro. Game looks great, feels good. For an older generation they really took the time and care unlike some other games *cough cough*. I never really liked the first game for it felt too empty and boring but this one I'm engaging with the side quests more than the main quest just to extend the joy of exploring the world. Apart from a few bugs and pop in issues I think they've made a solid sequel compatible with the old gen consoles.
Did not know about easy loot!!! I prefer this than hoping to hit the weak spot for loot because some machines are too fast to hit their weak spots. I never liked the way they changed that or limiting the warbow to 2 arrows instead of 3. BOOO!!! I ment sharpshot bow not warbow.
I like that you have to hit a certain spot to get loot or if you just want to kill them you can. They are too fast to hit but that’s good because you need more skill other than using your strongest weapon to kill everything.
@@dexterharris3121 Sure but playing on hard at low level I’m just trying to survive right now lol I can’t worry about accuracy. So far my resources are pretty low most of the time.
If you use Gyro Aiming (Motion Control) and get proficient at it, hitting specific parts is tremendously easier and gameplay is more satisfying. Its a mechanic that mimicks the intuitive control you get with a mouse on PC. Just takes time to get use to but Ive been using it on other games for a few months. Its definitely superior than stick aiming and if you were willing to spend the time to practice it, it can be worth it. Im playing on Very Hard (no custom formats) and have been cruising quite fine with it. Just much easier to "flick" on to enemies.
You don't have to go back to shelter to refill your berries, just hold up on the d-pad and it'll get them immediately from your stash and use 1 if you need it as well.

Your early release tips videos have helped me get a great start on several open world games over the years, so thank you.
for me, I like the easy loot option. i also like that if you run out of berries and you have some in your inventory. just hold up on the d-pad and it will refill.
I also appreciate the easy loot option, though I still find myself shooting off machine parts first for fun.
i didnt notice that easy loot now i can legit focus on just melee combat instead of wasting half the fight trying to salvage things and it makes even more sense when im stealth i hate i get a clean stealth kill and all the special parts just blow away it makes no sense being i did a precise clean kill those should be undamaged
Me being a completionist and seeing all the question marks is gonna take up enough of my time as it is 😅
I love it!
I don’t get when people say that. This game is gunna be out another 2-3 years or more so take your time and enjoy it. There’s no rush to complete 100 just take your time and enjoy the art.
Agreed, I'm almost 35 hours in and I'm barely halfway through the story from doing so many side quests and exploring :)
Felt to slow too me I did try it tho. Sometimes I just wanted to refill arrows hunting and stuff it was to slow.
Agree
You can also refill your berries when out in the wild by holding the up button
really im lvl 23 and didn't know this :(
@@its_thatweirdguy9637 it literally tells you in game every time you're out of heals
Makes just no sense that you kill a machine and all special loot is gone lol
You are an absolute champion for this vid. Thanks. Loving the quick swap. Saved me so much time plus the quick load.
You can also turn of the animation for picking up things like berries and sticks, this way you can run and pick without a break and way faster
Easy loot is something I need turned on after playing for so many hours. The combat is way more frustrating in this game. In concentration mode, the enemies twitch like its still real time. And when you finally knock off a component, the enemies are so spastic they kick the dropped parts outside of the map
Lol
I never spent so much customising gameplay, HUD, and options until this game...it's sucking into my gaming time and even then I get distracted from the main story because of the overwhelming side quests, skills, weapons and everything else! 😅
WTF weapon element combinations suck
Some cool tips in here, i really like the custom difficulty thing, although I don't know if I'll use the easy loot thing as I like how it is already
That Easy loot will save us a lot of time when farming Fireclaws, those things are really annoying, and to trigger the chain reaction to get the sac webbing is hard.
easy loot no avaliable anymore after some latest patch(
@@ИгорьШ-л5х da hell you are talking about. yes it is available
As someone with no patience and even less free time to play, easy loot is a godsend, thanks for the tips man
Small tip is to change the order in how your focus works to have the focus scan be press R3 and Pulse be holding R3 all the way down so for us who played Zero Dawn who are used to the Scan beeing on R3 don't have to relearn keybindings and esp since u use the scan 100x more often then u use the pulse.
scroungers and scavengers will have more processed blocks if you let the scavenge other machines first, i have seen some with 20 or 30 from feeding them
I don't know if there's a correlation or not but I've found I can get more processed metal blocks after they've had a chance to munch on the scrap piles or dead machines a bit.
1:58 You just saved me a lot of time. That is more easy as fighting all the maschines just to get one part off. Or event hose which I should not destroy. Like that crocodile thing...
You can set interaction points to always be visible which means you dont need to spam your focus to find items or stuff around that you might miss
My OCD is thanking you more than you know right now🙏🏻
Lord knows I spend more time triple checking to make sure I didn't miss something, than I do just playing 😄
The easy loot is amazing
I wish I didn’t know about it cause I love the fact that you HAVE to strategize during your fight to shoot off components…. And I’m afraid now I’m gonna turn it on when I struggle and out of all
These it feels like cheating
@@stevesand8845 Then don't use it
Bro love this. It's so informative I really appreciate everything you've posted
Omg! The fast travel within it the hint is something I was “really? I need to push X all the time?” Deserve a like and so many good tips
I love that Thunderjaw armor for Aloy.
That fancy purple outfit is nice as well.
What I want to see returned is the Lure Call, as that's the most useful skill for those who do stealth game.
Right!
*whistle...
Peek*
*Death
Yeah makes no sense they took that out. I resort to throwing rocks right next to me instead lol
I'm guessing they took it out because it made stealth way too easy.
How do people cope without this video. So many people must have struggled to play the game before your video came along!
Good tips I started your channel back doing old horizon and I’ve been waiting for this content

How the game just came out
@@masonhunt4941 i beat dyinglight 2 in 31 hrs straight when it came out so I mean I could've done it with this game but I was sick
The idea of the parts breaking if you don't hit them instead of when you do hit them is just completely backwards. Easy Loot setting for the better logic.
Great videos, I'm early game and i like that you're not spoiling a lot or giving us tips that make you jump way ahead.
The biggest tip i can give personally is if you need a quick way to take a machine down, hse the bracr shot ability. It gives some of the highest damage in the game if you can hit multiple weak points, even more with vaor surges.
As usual I enjoy all your clips, I'll be back for all tips when I get me a PS5 if I can find one and as usual continue to support and watch all videos I see you put out 👍🏾👍🏾
Great vid Man! Helped a lot 😁
Great hints and tips! I've been having a great time playing Horizon Forbidden West.
Wow you can buy things from vendors. And you can find scrounger components by killing scroungers. And you can read the Settings screens and change things.
These are some deep "secrets"!
Nice .... Knew about quick weapon swap, but had no idea it works for ammo. Thanks raptor.
When running up to a ledge you can dodge roll right before you get there and Aloy will do a front flip and land on her feet and continue sprinting. Not sure if it’s a mechanics glitch or an intended feature.
That video is super nice and very interested , completely different content from many youtubers , i like that. Thank you
Stuff like the easy loot are things that come into play for people with less time who maybe don't want to fight a dozen dreadwings to harvest teeth. Or the wild difficulty of the arena.
You can also set the item markers to just stay on all the time. Breaks immersion but very useful if you like to loot everything you see
Great tips bro. Much appreciated as always!
Addicted to this game and your videos ❤️
The settings tip is really good. Thanks man!
so im not sure you mentioned it in another video, but I didnt realise for the longest time the berries in your inventory count towards your healing, so when youre 0/14 you can hold up and it refills if you have medicinal berries! wish I knew that sooner!
about loading faster.
If you press square to Resume Activity in PS5's game loader, it will load last save. Which lets you go from menu to Aloy in 5 seconds.
been playing for more than 48hrs and still just after meeting GAIA in THE BASE, haven't finish Demeter, Aether and Poseidon yet, and all I do is hunt machine parts for my weapon upgrades and weapon trades while playing on very hard,
so that processed metal block farming and then just buy those heavy machines part on the contract vendors is very tempting.
I found holding down the up on the dpad replenishes the berries in your stock. That was my wow moment >
That's only from what you have on hand. Doesn't take from stash.
What also comes pretty handy in terms of "time-wasting" is that you can turn the pick-up motion off, so she can just run through the wood and collect it without kneeling down every time. This, of course, doesn't work with looting machines, just plants and separate machine parts.
Yes, this saved me so much time when I was informed of it
Great tip the wide maw tusks were a pain in the ass to get.
easy loot is not really a cheat tbh, i cba to shoot off certain parts to get something. There is already so many shit you need
I really like the Nora Valliant armour, took me ages to get those Deathwing fangs!
If for anything else the teleport tip deserved my Like!
I don't know if you have tried it but jump into a tornado at scalding spear with your shieldwing, stay in it as long as you can. Fun ride!
Can you do a video explaining more how we can use the resonator ability
Don’t know if you covered it or not but you can use the pullcaster on chest that are out of your reach. They never tell you that but it works.
Keep feeding me this HFW content my guy
Dude great video!
Easy loot mode still requires you to shoot off special components to disable certain attacks. So the incentive is still there to use strategy
Wow I didn't know about quick weapon selection! Thank you so much Jor! 👍
I went into this expecting to learn something, COMPLETELY forgetting that the first thing I do in every game is look at every single settings option.😅
Also, when you turn on the “Always glowy climb”, remember, it does disappear in photo mode.
And I incorporated the quick weapon swap into my gameplay IMMEDIATELY because WOW those are useful for element-stacking.
Clamberjaws also make metal blocks while just roaming around. Stalk out one of their sites and let them have it for a while.
Guerrilla made a crazy job about custom options for this game.
Same Questionable 'reasoning' that truly Killed off the ultraweaver into it's nerfed state from back then. [Shrugged at that complaint *(**04:58**)* ]
everyone. better take that advantage for granted before guerrilla probably tries to remove that feature too.
Wow!!! So the game is even more awesome and user friendly and we know that the ps5 is even faster than we thought lol FANTASTIC!!!
Awesome didn’t know about the saving time Ioading screen
Your a good person showing people abaut this game its very help alot this vid needs to get 6k like or 7k likes

I know i’m late but in ng + god of war do we get the Same rewards as the hardest difficulty in the easiest one
@@dCa991 lol I feel you the game is mad fun if you invest time into being good at killing them
If you use Gyro Aiming (Motion Control) and get proficient at it, hitting specific parts is tremendously easier and gameplay is more satisfying.
@@BJgobbleDix Doesnt make any sense you kill a machine and all the valuable parts are gone lol
You are the best man 🖤 Thanks.
I don't mind shooting the parts off, but I may turn it on to grind my gear. I think the grind is more in this game.
You don't have to go back to shelter to refill your berries, just hold up on the d-pad and it'll get them immediately from your stash and use 1 if you need it as well.
That’s from your inventory not stash you run out of the inventory berries eventually as well
