Absolutely awesome tutorial tips Arktix. I merrily play through this game totally oblivious to some of these tips, but now you’ve made combat gameplay so much easier. A big thank you Arktix. Take care mate!
I've been following your channel from some time now. You've put a lot of effort in all of your videos, and are always very engaged with the community. I want to start ZD remastered as soon as I'm done with my 3rd run of FW. Your tips will be very useful. Thanks Arktix
Even with all my playtime, it's nice to remind myself about these tips as I'm mostly have been playing HFW, but been getting back to HZD too. Thanks Arktix
congrats on 100k Arktrix! You're definitely my favourite Horizon RUclipsr out there because your vids are packed with info and tips that helped loads with my hzd and forbbiden west playthroughs.
When i first bought HZD in 2018 I knew I'd like the game overall but I really need to be in the mood for stealth/stealth like games. I was sucked into the Looooore! of the game and kept trying to get better at combat...but didn't succeed to well. I found your videos and things took a major turn for the better. I fully completed HZD to 100% completion at least 4 times. Forbidden west I only have a few achievements to get, life just got in the way. Your videos have been a major help over the years.
Thanks. I thought I was the only one who had played HZD for hundreds of hours but didn’t know these tips. Thanks Artrix. Every time I play it I think this is my last time through. Looks like I’ll have to play it again.
Great video! That was wild seeing the ropecaster tear components off like that. It would be great to have a video detailing what parts are worth tearing off in ZD, for resources or disabling attacks etc. I feel the game doesn’t shed nearly as much light on this as Forbidden West.
Thanks! In general, I would say weapons are the most important thing to tear off in HZD. You don’t need to worry about key upgrade resources like in HFW, so it’s really just the weapons that matter to disable them.
I just as soon use my arrows for damage and component removal... but appreciate the technique tips... Arctix, love your videos and learned about Bluesky from you first! thank you for posting on it
Thx Arktix i learned so much of your videos. There is on tip i never see in Horizon tip video.s. maybe you can put it in of your videos. i know for sure you know this but a lot of people dont. it is very useful in the hunting grounds white the ravager take over chalenges and to clear smaller machines fast and quite. its when you run slide and at the last moment use the stealth take down or overide them. keep up to good work greetings from the Netherlands 🤗
Thank you! I appreciate your support 🙏😄 And yup you can slide into a machine and either override or critical hit them at the last moment even if they’ve just detected you.
I remember watching some speedrunners go over the "optimal" way to coil every weapon in HZD, and the optimum coiling for the Adept Icerail was with three Pristine and one 60%+ Handling. He showed how fast it could fire, and how much damage it did, and it was nuts. I really want to work my way up to their loadout, but the whole thing needs _eighteen_ Pristine coils. Since you only get one per playthrough, that's a whole lot of time. I only made it to my sixth playthrough before HFW came out for PC this last March. I'll come back to it, though, now that the Remastered version is out. It looks so much prettier!
Thanks for the explanation about fire coils. It's what I assumed - different damage modifiers multiply to each other. Good to know. However, at the current state I use fire arrows mainly to get rid of Glinthawks, and my tactic relies on them falling down when they're burning. Maybe I'll use it more on NG+ to get Platinum (after Lego Adventures, that comes first). For collectibles, using the focus is also very helpful, imho, as the location is highlighted when you're getting closer.
10:14 You can actually pre-notch multiple ammo types on the same weapon. You just need to swap to another weapon in between switching ammo types. Ex: 1. Hunter bow > triple notch hardpoint arrows 2. Sharpshot bow > triple notch precision arrows 3. Unfortunately, I don't think that works. I've tested it and it's never worked for me, but if you have a clip that shows it I'd be very interested to see it!
Ah, well I do add a slight color vibrancy boost because I’ve noticed RUclips seems to compress the colors when it processes the video, so the videos end up looking worse than my original footage if I don’t do this. I doubt many other people are doing this, so that’s probably why my footage look a little different. I’m trying to get it to look closer to what I see on screen when I play.
Thanks! My biggest general tips: 1) Choose a popular enough game/franchise/genre. If there isn't a big enough audience, all your work will be for nothing; 2) Figure out what people want within the community you're targeting that they currently aren't getting/getting enough of. Make that. Hopefully it aligns with your strengths and interests. If not, maybe consider a different game/genre; 3) Focus on creating high value content that will be useful to people for many months or, ideally, multiple years; 4) Put effort into building a community: reply to comments; start, invite people to, and be active on your Discord server; post regularly to keep your core community engaged. Hope you find those tips helpful. If you have specific questions, feel free to join my Discord server and @ me and I'll try to get back to you (see what I did there? 😉)
How playable is mounted combat in HZDR? I mean, acceleration button works as start/stop for sprint, now. If, for whatever reason, mount slows down, first push makes it stop first and only the second one makes it go forward. Usually with great delay.

@@ArktixOfficialNice! Thinking about investing in it early. Am not sure about Critical Hit +, as from what I've read the damage increase is very low. Do you think it's worth investing the 2 skill pts into it early?
Any expert info on using a ropecaster and not getting the machine into the fully tied down state. It seems you can damage the machine quite a bit while they are in that state. The state seems to last a good time. Of course they can still attack you but just with more limited mobility. I've seen a couple of different RUclipsr's videos doing this technique. I (literally) just finished my NG+ remaster playthrough and I did not test, but it seems like it might be real.
Good point. Yeah maybe I should have mentioned that. Yes, a partial tiedown does restrict their movement a bit and you're able to damage them without degrading the buildup, but they can very easily break the ropes, so I personally don't find it particularly useful to intentionally use partial tiedowns. But it's good knowledge to keep in the back pocket for when you end up in a situation where you've got a partial tiedown and can't get a full one. For example, if you're out of ropes. I suppose it's also another way to apply tear to components if you can manage to land the rope on components while the machine is moving around a lot.
@@ArktixOfficial I just tried something and I think this really works, and works well it seems. I went to visit the Hunters Three at Daytower and was coming down the hill. I saw the Stormbird flying kinda funny. Some Carja dues picked a fight. Okay, I'll crash the party. I only put one or two ropes on him and pounded the bejeebers out of him before the ropes broke and I needed a re-rope. Fully roped, my memory is that the ropes break once you pound hard. They just don't instantly get up so you have some time. Really more of a one on one type thing probably. This one RUclipsr I watched, 42 hour video, took on Redmaw with a green ropecaster, basic starter hunter bow and a blue sharpshot. Most of the time they only used one rope at a time...from a green ropecaster. I am just surprised how long they hold up and restrict. I don't think it was because of plinking with weak weapons. Later in the game with better, fully coiled, weapons the same techniques were used to same effect.
I’ve done a lot of both because I originally played HZD on PC and it hundreds of hours in on KBM. Then I switched to controller for HFW when it launched on PlayStation and put a ton of hours in that way. I like the haptics on the DualSense and I think the games are well optimized for controller, but ultimately I think I want to make KBM mouse my main input because I suspect the Online Project will have a competitive mode (in addition to non-competitive single-player mode) and I’m going to want to be able to aim more precisely with a mouse.

Question. Does having TOO much Tear on a Ropecaster cause the Ropes to prematurely break off from Tearing off the plating it was attached to? Do they always maintain the full tie-down time regardless of Tear?
The tear only gets applied when the rope breaks from what I can tell. So, no, I don't think having a lot of tear on a ropecaster would cause the ropes to break prematurely.
They will maintain full tie-down duration once a machine is in that state, but before full tie-down, the ropes apply tear per sec and so they can pull off components & detach ropes if you have high tear & are taking too long to tie a machine down. But once tied-down the tear-per-sec for the ropes ends.
@Enema27 OH wow... If that's true then that definitely changes things! It would mean that too high a Tear stat could hinder your ability to tie down a machine if the plates keep being quickly torn off instead...
@@skins4thewin Potentially yeah, if a player was heavily prioritising tear coils instead of handling then it would make tie-downs more of a hassle to achieve.
Didn't you say, that you have a sharpshot bow full of damage coils and another one full of tear coils? When tear arrows are unaffected, do you only do this for the salvage arrows?
Is there even a reason to boost an Armor's Elemental Resistance past 100? Is there any extra damage reduction for doing so? It's super easy to do on the Armors that specialize in a specific Elemental resistance.
Gente no me aparece para comparar los objetos especiales de la edición de colección (arcos, trajes .etc) al comenzar el juego si pude comprarlos pero lo deje pasar ahora no aparece la opción de objetos especiales porfavor ayuda
I saw videos when someone hit some small machines like chargers in leg one time and they collapsed but they dont want to collapse in my game lol. Is it broken or what 😂
What you never really explain though is why would I want to knockdown? What is the benefit of a knockdown? Is it just that it’s temporarily out of action?
It's a way you can temporarily immobilize machines like shock and tying them down with a ropecaster. Any time a machine is immobilized, it's easier to deal damage to them and, of course, they can't fight back.
Only in NG+, as the NG+ adept weapons have 4 coil slots. So you could have 1 Untested Coil (+51% damage, +35% fire), two +50% Fire coils that have +25% damage as a secondary stat, & one +50% damage coil that has +17% fire as a tertiary stat.

Any of Aloy's ally has alloy or none of Aloy's ally has alloy?
What you never really explain though is why would I want to knockdown? What is the benefit of a knockdown? Is it just that it’s temporarily out of action?
It's a way you can temporarily immobilize machines like shock and tying them down with a ropecaster. Any time a machine is immobilized, it's easier to deal damage to them and, of course, they can't fight back.
Just hit them with the eyes
I’m kind of disappointed they didn’t add any features from Forbidden West because I thought the sequel improved on basically everything
It’s a re-master not a remake
It's a remaster after all
Auto sprint and no pick up animations did make it in…
On UH the shield weaver is useless

Oh I’ve got something special cookin’ for Hogwarts Legacy. Just wait a few weeks 😉
Lol is it even possible to Coil a weapon with +150% Burn & +150% Damage?
Seems impossible...
