Only change I'd make would be adding 2-4" acoustic foam on your extra panels/lid to soak in some of the reflections. The only bad thing about drum shields is that you're not actually getting rid of any sound, unless you have foam, as you're just re-directing it back towards the drummer (or the wall depending on how enclosed it is). :)

Totally agree. I will have to post an updated video - since this video, we have added a back that has cut down on the sound tremendously. It seems like a project that we keep tweaking. :) Thanks for your feedback! I have since added foam panels which has helped a ton.

If you can let us know when you make that back piece, because I’m still currently trying to figure that part out. Great Video, Honestly.

if you want to reduce more sound you have to put more acoustic panels on the side where the snare drum is because thats 70db on its own, you can cut it down quiet a bit

Aren’t you still getting a lot of leakage into the vocal mic’s at 74-75 dB?

I think it's hard to call this a cheap drum enclosure. Yes, the additions were pretty cheap, but you already had the 5 panel Clearsonic shield which runs about $580 on Sweetwater. So that plus the additional Clearsonic Panel ($120) puts you at $700, plus all the lumber, carpet and such would run you another couple hundred bucks. So you'd probably be closer to $1000. Yes, compared to the Clearsonic ISO Pack B, it's saving you about $900, but your price only reflects what you spent on the addition, and not the entire enclosure.

Josh Edwards Right, he stated that he used a lot of things he already had at the church. Of course the price would be higher for someone who doesn’t have the tools.

Michael Flores of course. The title of the video is just misleading. It’s cheap if you already have $850 worth of the equipment that makes up 95% of the enclosure.

Nice video. Thanks for making it. Our church will be moving into our permanent building by the first of the year, with that we will finally be getting a drummer. Can you share exactly which mics you used to mic the drum set?

I wonder if someone would take my advice and actually put the acoustic panels on the outside aswell as the inside on the bottom

It's not just sound deadening it's also better sound quality, so put mics on it and u can turn it down.

@@albertcole8590 so in other words your drums don't naturally sound good? Sorry for the response but if you would notice very few situations ( live bands, clubs, stadiums, big band, coffee houses...etc...) use these barriers. I've played all these different situations, and worship bands, and have never used them. (55 years) Buddy Rich would be turning in his grave seeing this.
