Thank you for your hard work and dedication. You inspired me to customize your psp! And I'm currently creating a custom PSP with a 3D-printed case and added useful features-an ambitious project. After all the mods, I will write a PSP compatibility program with larger SD cards (starting from 128 GB). This will allow everyone to enjoy games on larger and faster storage devices, providing faster loading times and smoother gameplay. I bricked my psp in 2014, still have it and I want to bring it back, but I can’t find a Pandora battery where would I best find it or what would be the best way to recover it would you know? Got it up and running using a Pandora battery that I built thanks to this fine community. ❤️
Before anything else, what model of PSP do you have? As far as I know, if you have a 3000 you can't use the pandora method, though if you have a 1000 or an earlier 2000 model, then you can use the pandora battery method
Look up "baryon sweeper for psp" you can make one yourself you just need a battery(it can be a 3rd party one) and a USB TTL converter. You also need an original memory stick that has magic gate(a 2gb will do). Lusidgames made a video on how to make one
You could try to find an old legit battery or try to make one from a legit battery pcb: www.aliexpress.com/i/3256803397547425.html?gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt Buy one of these, attach any aftermarket battery cell to it, and program it to be a pandora using a second psp
Hey where are you located? I recently ran into a similar issue and was able to create a Pandora battery on my own (without opening it up) by using a software to make it on another PSP 1000 yada yada it's a long story. But my point is, I know the struggle and I'd be more than happy to do it for you if you were somehow able to ship it to me. Only if you are okay with it though, I know it's hard to trust someone off of a RUclips comment lol.
The process is very similar, an I was even thinking of doing a combined video and show the differences, but decided it would be best to have a dedicated video for each model. - WiFi antenna you may not have to deal with newer models its removed. - The Jelly is not a ribbon cable, and the trim you have to unscrew and remove the motherboard before being able to remove it. - And there is the added Microphone ribbon Other than that, its extremely similar lol

Been really enjoying your PSP stuff the last couple of months, very informative so thanks. Let me know if you're ever thinking of doing a video on encoding movies for the PSP. I have a custom Handbrake profile and figured out how to render excellent quality stuff with instructions for a resolution of 720x576 in the correct PSP aspect ratio of 30:17 for 21:9/16:9/4:3 content. Makes a massive difference quality wise vs 480x272 due to Chroma Subsampling. Basically end up with a correct image of 30:17 at a resolution of 1016x576 stretched on the PSP's display and a size of about 1gb per 2 hour movie.
O you bet, I 100% plan to do a dedicated video about it, interesting fact I noticed when I was tuning it for maximum quality, everything was fine on my slim models, but when it came to my 1000 model it actually is negatively affected, at least with my settings, feel free to hop on discord and we can explore this further when the time comes

3:40 I realised after stripping my fair share of screws , there's a screw type similar to philips called JIS (Japan Industry Standard) which looks like a Philips but using a philips will strip it slowly overtime, a JIS screwdriver is the one to use there and a JIS will also work on a Philips screw. Now the PS Vita and the 3DS use JIS screws, although guides like ifixit say its philips but ive seen some people on reddit mention it's actually JIS and using those screwdrivers eliminate or reduce the chance if stripping screws. I have not verified that info myself but it might be worth exploring, and it would make sense if these devices use JIS as it's more superior and comes from Japan like the devices.

I could probably include it into a beginners moding guide, I plan to have a basic video showing basic soldering and what not, to prepare people for the next series of mods. I was watching this video when i shell swaped my psp2000. I just have issues with the select button, it seems like it is being pressed all the time. Also when in game when exiting a game via home button, The option to exit game opens up but cant make the section to quit the game. What do i do to fix it. Many thanks!
Hi I tried playing a game in my PSP 2000. Nothing happening. I opened tray and pressed the trigger I don’t see the laser come on or move . Nothing. Do you have an idea what’s wrong ?
Well, this is what I call a detailed guide... Obviously this isn't your first rodeo. May I ask you for an opinion? Listen, I have a hobby of repairing and collecting psp, and I have several psp 1000 that I have never been able to fix because of two defects in particular: The first is what I call "phantom UMD syndrome", that is when the umd reader continues to move the lens as if it were trying to read a UMD even when it is not inserted, the laser continues to move in one direction making horrible noises because it is as if the motor went beyond its normal limit. I tried with multiple drives that are definitely working (on other consoles) and also to replace or even completely remove the switch that detects the presence of the disk, but nothing changed. The second problem never solved is the "phantom drift" that is when regardless of the analog module installed or even when it is not present at all, the console detects crazy inputs in all directions. I tried to disassemble and clean everything, I replaced both the analog module and the conductive rubber a thousand times but I never understood the reason for this problem. Do you have any advice on this? Even just some resource I could draw from to understand... I've been searching the internet and reddit for years, which so far has seemed like the best resource, but with no luck. Sorry if I was too forward but it's not easy to find someone who knows the technical functioning of PSPs today.
Ey, no worries : ) - The phantom umd thing, I'm honestly not, however there are people that do collect and sell these on the PSP Homebrew discord ( i have yet to encounter this issue ) - If the stick is removed from what I know, it will usually default to going top left, but if its going all over the place, that probably means some static electricity or something shorting thats causing them to go to random places while being disconnected. From what I have read, if you got dirty contacts, it will cause this problem, also bad aftermarket shell swaps can cause improper connection and cause it to drift. Both issues sound very similar, do they usually happen on the same unit? Maybe its some dying capacitor, maybe its a grounding issue. I wish i had a defective one to look into, maybe one day, even my rusted psp restoration didnt have these problems lol.
@@TotalKommando Thanks for replying. The problem occurs on different consoles, I literally have a drawer full of them 😁, I also thought of something shorting out somewhere, I thought of the metal frame that goes under the LCD panel, but I even did the test several times of booting motherboards without the case and everything else with no luck. I thought that somehow it depended on me, on some bad habits of mine, since it almost seems like I'm the only one who suffers from these problems, but I can't understand what I could be doing wrong, maybe because I don't use anti-static bracelets? but I've never seen anyone else do it in the millions of tutorials I've seen, and yet...
