I think silicone's the way if you really want protection, but scratches add to the charm, it means its been used and played with. Needs the glass screen tho
First of all, your videos about PSP are great!!... but I should mention that there is a type of protector for the PSP Street, but it is made of rubber, it looks ugly, but it protects the console well :P
10:25 That lip is to snap the cover protection on it, just like the psp ones. They are removable, but looks like where you got these cases from, they didnt include them.
That's what i thought, weird design, they prob thought it was annoying and pointless as well and removed it lol Imagine having to figure out what to do with 2 extra plastic pieces everytime you want to use it
Awesome video again dude. I just added the PSP 1000 protector shell to my amazon basket. Will this be a nice fit for the psp crystal shell replacement from your other video if you wouldnt mind testing for me please lol.
I did test it in the video : ) I tested an OG, 50/50, & full aftermarket crystal shell for the 1000 It will be a tighter fit with aftermarket shells ( at least with my matt blue ) there are some really cheap ones floating around now
@@TotalKommando Awesome thanks dude. I commented after watching the first section and didnt realise you tested the non oem shells at the end. Thanks buddy. I will keep you posted as to how well the psp improvements go lol. From barely working to fully pimped is the end goal lol. Your videos are an endless source of inspiration.
What about someone who plays and only puts it back in it's case? I have a shell for my 3DS but it's only ever IN the case or in my hands. I assume no issues?
I decided early on that I don't like to use protective cases for my handhelds since I'm very careful with them (with cellphone is another story), I also don't like the added height that goes from my hands to the buttons, even if the buttons are easy to press. But thanks. Maybe you should do one with carrying cases or grip cases, cheers
Yea usually they are really bad, they can damage your device and feel wrong. I found these to be not bad as long as the user is ok with damage only if their console is not in a perfect condition Have you tested the PSP ones before? On a switch this can be annoying for sure, but I found the button height to be ok on the PSP
I agree with your when it comes to mint condition collector pieces but these things shouldn't really even be leaving your house. If you use your Handhelds in public spaces or outside, a couple scratches is preferable to broken plastic from it getting knocked out of your hands or dropping it on concrete. If all i did was sit in an office and then drive home and sit in my house I'd probably never bother with cases or screen protectors for my handhelds. Just accidentally putting my keys in my pocket with my PSP one time completely ruined the screen.
Yea the mint ones should stay at home Always gotta have one ready for on the road battle and one babied at home Even if you use these crystal ones at home, they will eventually cause some damage I agree, give me a handheld thats scuffed up, but with a perfect screen and i will be happy Thankfully now a days we go those glass lenses, and if you watched my video about it, i took a hammer and a bunch of sharp pointy objects to it It held up pretty well lol
PS5 CTF theme drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-Xz1KWESrUXDprR8Gv6XP4QeMD8Hysbb?usp=sharing There’s two of same themes. “Normal” and “Expanded”. Normal Is the one you want to install
Silicon cases are fine as long as you dont have like sand like particles under it, they are usually lose fit, I got one of the earlier made ones and i dont like how it feels in the hand
I was thinking perhaps one could spray the inside with some sort of rubberized material but it will cause extra problems. Either way it will never be perfect because all the added thickness will get in the way of it closing correctly
I triee and stopper when i found the edges being offset, i might be able to force it but that would just end up heavily damaging it without a gurantee it can close, plus will need to do a bunch of mods for things like the charging port cutout and and speakers
@@TotalKommando got it, I'm going to re-shell a psp 3000 myself thinking the mhp3rd shell would fit in the 1000. I remember there was a silicone based shell back in the day, I haven't seen them in a while
@@TotalKommando Thank you I appreciate the reply. I was trying to ask what device to check mAh of a battery to make sure it's correct, planning on changing out some old/spicy batteries with new ones.
I had one for my PSP 1K. It broke. I might have been to rough with it. I would 1000% agree: a soft pouch for the win. Funturbo has a pretty good one on their Amazon store. Kommando, what can I do about stick drift on my psp? I've had to replace the analog stick so many times and they all eventually start drifting. Help a PSP brother out: What's your solution?
The stick drift thing is something I gotta cover in depth in its own video, there are multiple things that can cause it. Start with software, try a plugin called JoySens to expand the deadzone Hardware wise, its poor contact or no contact, where it uses the stupid jelly. Try scrubbing and cleaning the contacts on the motherboard
@@TotalKommando I figured it would take some disassembly and 90% isopropyl alcohol to fix. I hate opening the thing, I'm always afraid I'm gonna screw things up. Don't know why! I've done it a million times over, but I get anxious about it

oo ark 4 video can't wait
only reason i bought one was because i loved the way it looked on my psps
Yep, same, they suck but on a white PSP it looks gorgeous
Been binge watching your videos for last day, was surprised you didn’t have millions of subs! Your videos are so high quality
Thanks : )
I think silicone's the way if you really want protection, but scratches add to the charm, it means its been used and played with. Needs the glass screen tho
I got a silicon one from back in the day, and it feels very jank lol
Maybe you could get a matte casing if someone really cares about scratches. If you can find one, of course. Don't know how available those are.
no. silicone cases are dogshit and eventually deform. i went through at least a dozen in the past decade. the clear cases last.
I also think ur making these videos to dunk on us with ur collection, love ur stuff ! Waiting for the battery mod!
this videos about psp modifications are great, appreciate the good work
been using vita as my main for gaming loveee your psp/vita vids bro nice !!!
"If you're watching family guy"
It's like you know everything about the PSP, some how you even know what I watch!
haha
These videos are amazing, probably my favorite channel

Finally, I’ve been waiting for this one
Amazing content . Really appreciate the quality and effort
Great video.
A PSP game console player from China.
I'd say no because buttons become harder to press
Usually is the case for other consoles, but with these ones I found to be pretty good, have you tested the one for the PSP

Thanks, but you know its not crystal xd
I have one of those silicon cases for my slim model but it sucks lol
Wow very good video I’m impressed lol really I’m legit going to buy one of these thanks for the help I just sub !😊
Please keep making psp content 🙏🏼

Well there is a solution for it, get a sticker skin, either printed or transparent and you're good to go
With crystal case for psp that glossy finish can protect the paint from chipping.
It can start the chipping actually, check the updated downsides chapter

what do you think about silicone cases? I'm not sure if they also damage the console
Silicon cases are fine as long as you dont have like sand like particles under it, they are usually lose fit, I got one of the earlier made ones and i dont like how it feels in the hand
Would there be any padding that could be added inside the shells to reduce the amount of scratches the psp/psvita will get?

Either way it will never be perfect because all the added thickness will get in the way of it closing correctly
