Great info, as always, Roy. Thanks for taking us along on the journey, and teaching in such a wonderful way. Making tools has been a bit of a anxious moment for me, but you're videos are certainly helping me get to them.
Great pro tips in this one. Looking for the hidden gold lololol. Just wow that's a fantastic hammer!!👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 🙏 Gid bless and keep you Crawford out ⚒️🧙♂️
@@ChristCenteredIronworks Not really all that critical as long as I'm just making tools for my personal use, but it's always good to strive for cleaner forgings.
I am liking the new format (kinda). I do watch other blacksmith videos with no speaking without issue, but I am having to get used to it on this channel. Have you considered adding a bit of text to the videos? It was fairly apparent (at least to me) that you were using coil spring, but it might be helpful for others. I know it's MORE editing (but I don't know how much more), but depending on how easy it is to do (with whatever software you use), it could be something to consider.
I have worked with a few lengths or car spring but never thought to anneal them before working the metal. How would my efforts or resulta differ with that additional step?
Roy, was watching John from blackbear forge and he had a piece of sucker rod on his table that reminded me of a slide hammer, so, I thought maybe a slide hammer with different forged tips might be a suitable candidate for a striker replacement when working alone. What are your thoughts on this?
Hey man i thought of you a minute ago love ur show have you ever seen that show the path of fire theres something there that your show needs that aids in the learning process but i cant put my finger on it lol 😏😏😏

Nothing to them just got to pull the trigger and get them done :-) glad these videos have helped out
Great video Roy. I need to try making some specialty chisels and chasing chisels. Thanks for the inspiration.
Very welcome and definitely give it a go !

Mr Crawford always a gentleman and scholar! God bless you sir
What is the advantage of using the Wooden Mallet, or Hammer on steel? I enjoy your videos! Love the Name Too!!
Not leaving hammer marks.
Why have I never thought of a mallet for straightening coil spring?
It really helps with keeping things straight and clean from hammer marks :-)

Got to love making your own tool 2 suit your needs. That will be one sexy Hammer by the time you're done with it
It most definitely will :-) I will be continuing my update posts on it over on Instagram.
@@ChristCenteredIronworks I look forward to seeing progress amazing work you do no doubt about it
