    Howdy Master Seyran !
    That has got to be one of your best Steel-Strong knives ! It has a very high “ring” to it when you punched the starter holes in it ! It’s an awesome little Damascus kitchen “paring knife”, almost like the one that Steven Seagal threw at the kitchen target board in the movie Under Siege ! Well done ! I’m with the other viewers, that would like to see a bit more of your blade sharping technique !!

    I can’t figure out how you always come out with a perfect billet and never have any inclusions when you have all that space between the metal when you are forging it

    • @masterknives555
      @masterknives555  23 часа назад +2

      Thank you for noticing the precision in my work! The key to achieving a solid billet without inclusions is proper preparation, intense heat, and good technique. The white powder you often see (borax) helps flux the metal, preventing oxidation and assisting in creating a clean weld. Careful hammering and consistent heat throughout the forging process help close any gaps. It’s a combination of experience, patience, and a little bit of experimentation. 🔨🔥

    That came out beautiful!
    I just LOVE that you try all kinds of weird objects that I've never seen before.... I've seen chain, but not the shiny type you used... and to put it on that wheel, that was really cool... And then the other day you used NAIL CLIPPERS!!! HAHAAA!!! I really enjoy watching you work... and you camera person is quite good too, very nice stylized shots... like using the mirror... good stuff....
    And the shape of this knife was quite different.... I want to say that it looked a little 'chubby' lol short but thick... but the handle does look like it would be good for cutting hard or thick things if the person has big hands.... I really think it looked good tho :) GREAT WORK!!!
    - I've been wonder where you are located... I've never heard you talk, and the little bit of singing/humming doesn't help me much... I'm going to take a guess that you are located in South Eastern Europe... actually... a country just popped into my head out of nowhere and I heard a voice say Azerbaijan I don't know why tho.... I was really gonna guess Moldova, but for no reason.. I just picked a country I know nothing about..... but looking at the words on the paper you were cutting I wanted to say Turkey but but I have no idea what Turkish words look like LOL ....
    I'm gonna go to sleep now... I ramble when I get tired lol - Were any of my guesses correct? That would be crazy if so!!! :) See ya soon!

      As for your guesses-yes, you nailed it! I’m based in Azerbaijan. Amazing intuition! 🌍 Thank you for watching and for your thoughtful comments. Sleep well, and I look forward to having you back for more knife-making adventures! 🔨🔥✂️

    If I had equiptment as such I'd be trying ta make this knife I had back in the day it was like a dagger or boot knife but at the tip of tbe blade it was split down the middle almost half way then the rest of the knife had this idk if it's a furrow or what it's called but it was on both sides of the blade called a blood pool small ditch down the center of the blade the knife was called a wasp but I've tried looking that up doesn't even correspond to what I remember now Gil hibbon made one similar but I can't think the name of it now

    • @masterknives555
      @masterknives555  23 часа назад +1

      That sounds like a fascinating and unique blade! The split-tip design you described, combined with the "blood pool" (commonly referred to as a fuller), would definitely make for an eye-catching knife. It might be challenging to find the exact design from memory, especially if it was a custom or rare piece.
      The name “Wasp” might refer to the knife’s sleek and aggressive appearance, but if Gil Hibben made something similar, it’s worth exploring his collection for inspiration. If I ever get the opportunity, that sounds like an incredible project to attempt-combining creativity with functionality. Thank you for sharing such an intriguing idea! 🔪🔥

      I think the point is that in metallurgy you have strength, toughness, elasticity among other factors and these things factor into the blade's ability to resist shattering, rolling, corroding, and hold it's edge all the things that make a blade "strong" also factor into the difficulty of sharpening. Steel composition ie it's trace elements, and heat treatment factor greatly as well as the shape of the blade and it's bevel geometry.

      You’re absolutely right, my friend-I should always prioritize safety, including wearing safety glasses. Thank you for the reminder, and I’ll make sure to take better precautions moving forward. Your concern means a lot! 🙏🔨

    если ты начал прислушиваться к критике - это хорошо, если само собой получилось - лучше так чем никак:
    рисунок дамаска интересней чем в предыдущих твоих видео. если ты такой рисунок предвидел - хорошо, если он сам такой получился - считай что тебе повезло хоть в чем то.
    .
    рукоять ножа УЖАСНА. прилегание к хвостовику ножа - ужасно, сколы и щепа накладок рукояти - ужас. ЧЕЛ, смени материал для рукояти, воспользуйся березой например.
    .
    есть + в моем общении с тобой - ты кажется делаешь выводы. этот нож лучше предыдущих, что я критиковал... он НЕ идеальный, но он лучше предыдущих, что я у тебя видел.
    итог: я такой шедевр не куплю!
    но ты прогрессируешь. это прекрасно.

      Спасибо за честный и детальный отзыв! Очень ценю, что вы заметили прогресс в работе - это мотивирует продолжать совершенствоваться. 🙏
      Что касается рукояти, я полностью согласен, есть куда стремиться. Ваш совет про березу - отличный, я обязательно попробую использовать этот материал для будущих ножей.
      Рисунок дамаска в этом ноже действительно получился удачным, и я рад, что он привлек внимание. Иногда эксперименты дают неожиданные результаты, но всегда стараюсь учиться на каждом проекте.
      Спасибо за критику и поддержку - такие комментарии помогают развиваться! 🔨🔥

    A lot of cinematic shots, a little too much. That knife must be 70% inclusions with all the chain voids.

    • @masterknives555
      @masterknives555  2 дня назад +1

      Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate your thoughts on the cinematic approach-it’s always a balance between showcasing the process and the craft itself. Regarding the chain voids, a lot of careful forge welding goes into minimizing inclusions, but I’ll definitely consider showing more of those critical steps in the future to address any doubts. Your input helps me improve! 🔨🔥

    About 30% of the vid was fabulous, lots of skills shown...the rest of the vid...teach your camera person how to put the action in the center, having a hammer infront of the action, or showing sparks??? or focusing on a glove...??? Try to keep it on the mans hands, that's the skill (not the video comp...there's no ticket to Jackson Hole. FWIW.
