Undertale: a game about either sparing everyone and being able to date a skeleton or killing everyone in your path and being able to hear funny bone man’s song.
And with one of the most cringiest fanbases to ever ruin such a great game with great music. What they do to the characters is horrible and I hope it doesn't happen again with OMORI. As soon as you start making silly alternate universes, the fandom is immediately doomed.

as a terraria fan, I can confirm lol
You forget the part where Zelda invented that stereotype of game.
(Of course taking it from a hundreds-of-years-old stereotype of fantasy stories lol)
And zelda doesn't even follow the trope all too often, like in the most recent game SPOILER ALERT she sacrifices herself to turn into a dragon in order to heal the master sword. In botw you arent saving her as much as shes saving you from a demon being unleashed. In skyward sword she sacrifices herself to be stuck in the past, in Twilight princess she has to sacrifice her kingdom as it's the only choice she has.
Now ofc there are games like minish cap that follow the trope to a T but for the most part Zelda as a character is more than just a princess to save.

Genshin impact: Basically BOTW but it's waifus, husbandos, boy scouts and helicopters and you spend every penny on them or you suffer from F2P
I swear I started playing genshin impact because it was similar to botw but I didn't have it. I got the switch and botw on Christmas and I completely ditched genshin impact after that
