I get much more feel on my putts and can just trust my line knowing the face technology is going too help it roll smother. I love this putter. Absolutely nailed it. The silver on the higher 3d printed models I'm not a fan of however. It's just too distracting and shines in the sun. The matte black is definitely the way too go. I just recently bought the Cobra Agera in the only place in SE Tennessee you can buy such things and try before you buy, Golf World, Chattanooga, Tennessee. I went in with three older putters to trade, but left them in the car in case I didn't find anything. And full disclosure, the putting green area inside the Golf World is jaded just a hair...you will putt better there, just like their simulators are set at 110%, so you hit your clubs further. Everyone knows it, and buys accordingly.
    I started putting with any putter I could find on the rack that was not a blade. Like you, Rick, I am not a blade putter person. I went through Ping, Taylormades, Scotty Camerons, a few used off brand trade-ins they had there, even tried a rare Bettenardi that was about a half-mallet. Then I spotted the Cobra rack, kind of off to the side. In it was about ten putters of the type you showed, and one of the Agera Palm Spring Series models, which was much more expensive. Started with the Pal Spring Agera right off, and I just knew right away, and the roll proved it, this thing can be extremely forgiving. I sunk a LOT of putts in the next five minutes. And I really wanted the Palm Tree one, since I am retired US Navy, and their colors are the same, Royal Blue and Gold.
    By the way, later they told me the Agera putters have started flying off the shelf, and the Palm Spring model, they only get one or two every couple months, and they go fast. Mine had been in the store only a few short days.
    I was in a simple collared shirt and jeans, and I asked the guy how much, and he looked at me and said they are "kind of expensive"...(Just what I wanted him to do). I said "How much?" He looked it up, $449 US for the Palm Tree Agera. (To put this in context, my recent purchase of a Cobra LTD King was $499, but my score cards show 40% of my strokes as putts - You do the math!) I asked if he took trades...He said yes, cautiously...I went to my car and brought in my old Evnroll E7 CS, an Odyssey Tank Cruiser, and a rare Nike Drone 2.0 set up like Dechambeau putts, with an armlock grip. To say he was a bit surprised was something I enjoyed.
    He looked them all up, and said he would give me $200 in trade, almost to the dollar what I had in them. Done deal..Three putters and $250 later, I owned the Palm Spring Agera...
    I love the Agera. Brought it home, sinking everything on my carpet and putter return unit...Can't wait to get out with my buddies and show it off. OUTSTANDING on mishits. Just like you on those 60 footers, It may not go in, but the dreaded three-putt is off the table with the Agera. Highly recommended!

    Rick, I just watched your video from 3 years ago about your Volvik Golf Balls review and I think you should do a challenge with Pete or one of your buddy. You assign each ball color to a different club (example: red/driver, blue/SW, green/5iron, etc). The balls are then tossed into a bag, each of you choose one ball blindly from the bag, and which ever color you pick, you have to play that club assigned to it for that shot. The next shot, you throw the ball back in the bag, and go again until one of you hole out. It would be a pretty fun challenge playing this against someone. LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN!

      Yeah seems as though many golf manufacturers are more concerned with getting products quickly to market rather than doing the due diligence on QC. Callaway had issues with carbon heads cracking years ago (and maybe still do) and ever since the M5 driver line came out the it’s seemed to me that TM likes leaving jagged edges on their carbon crowns.
      Seen many people remark about all these reviews and materials being put out for these putters. Always have to remember, the more a product is marketed towards you the more likely the manufacturer wants you to overlook obvious faults in design/quality. Guess we’ll see with this line of putters.

    Just started playing golf, and wanted a forgiving putter. I tried a whole bunch of putters in the store, and my fave were the Cobra Agera, and Odyssey triple track 2. So much forgiveness, and a nice soft feel on both of them. But the Agera looked cooler to me, and had a slightly softer feel so I went with that!

    Lemme tell ya, I am not traditionally a fan of putters with a huge head. I took ahold of the Cobra King Agera at the store and was absolutely blown away by the feel and speed control. 90 day satisfaction guarantee so he’ll with it, grabbed it. Well, they are NOT getting this thing back!! What an amazing putter!! Between my new LTDx driver, fairway3, and hybrid 5 and now this putter, I am seriously impressed with the advancements Cobra has made. Love it. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

    i like blade putters because I learned to putt at a mini-golf course and for the first 5 years of my 40 year career I putted with a blade putter from that same mini-golf course that I won for winning the tournament with a score of 20. I currently use a Taylormade blade putter I like thin blade putters and do not like big bulky ones. The 3d printed ones do not suit my eye therefore, I would not consider them. LOL, I even considered going to a friend of mine who used to have a mini-golf course and seeing if he would sell me one of his old putters.

    I think I like the looks of them. Especially the classic ones. I could get used to the 3d line but like Rick says the busy design elements and the clicky sound may ruin it. The SIK face could definitely help someone like me and I'm pretty certain the SIK branded putters go for more money. They might just have something here, and as their brand continues to get more popular I'm sure a lot of people will try this line of putters. Cobra seems to be trendy and popular right now especially with younger golfers. Great review.

    I’m super about these, the 3d printed ones especially. For me it’s not enough 3d printing, why nylon? I feel a heavy weighted material as the insert would more meaning and wow. Big up to cobra for doing something different and I can’t wait to try them out!

    • @abdurahmanebrahim4563
      @abdurahmanebrahim4563 3 года назад

      A heavy material for the insert would totally defeat the purpose. The reason for the nylon is to save weight, which they can move to the edges with the tungsten weights, that's what increases the MOI and forgiveness.

    I've got the armlock. I've used it once. A small scratch on the top has appeared and is really annoying. Now I can't even sell it.. Also I find the putter head reflects the sun and shines in your eyes.. They need to do more R&D and testing to eliminate these issues if they want to charge a premium like Scotty Cameron..

    COBRA, you want to do something revolutionary? Take your speedback 3wood and make it exactly the same size, same weight from 15-45 degrees. I will be first in line to buy a full set! Imagine, same swing, same weight, same length clubs through the entire bag... you already make a women's speedback that goes to 27 degrees. Why did you stop there? Ping has a $300 women's 36 degree hybrid...which is nice, way better than an 8 iron....but a wood would be much better.
