    This was super cool. I watch both of you guys and honestly didn't really know who would win. The thing I like about you is you have this raw passion that is contagious. You always go full out 100% and we can tell, and it drives us to do that as well. Keep it up dude I look forward to watching a rematch (and the race from Cam's perspective) and my Kickr Core is showing up in like 5 days so I can't wait to get in there and see what I am made of!

    Good job! If you ever do a rematch, have the race between Cam and you start at the bottom of the Alpe but still stick with the front group until then. It was a bummer to see Cam stop and wait for you because at this point you know the front pack won't stop. So you have to chose between racing the front guys or racing you. And you can't just compare times up the Alpe because you're not as fresh when you've raced from the start.

    • @TheVCAdventures
      @TheVCAdventures  5 лет назад +7

      So I asked him a few days before the race what he wanted to do. He said chill ride to the alp climb. It wasn't a race from the gun, as we wanted to get the whole group to the climb if possible.
      I even asked again in the staging before the start. He again said chill. So it sucked to see I was a minute down 10s into the ride. Next time we need a full in road race.

    You clearly could see that there was miscommunication at the beginning, and cam realized it that he mislead VC (not intentionally). I thought it was a true gesture of sportsmanship by cam but then it kinda got ruined with cam insta story saying "next time im not waiting"
    It was a great race to watch, i was rooting for VC and I think he had all the good things on his side today, I'm not sure next time he will have all this: fitness, cam poor tactics, cam in no mans land (even with 1k people), motivation

    • @TheVCAdventures
      @TheVCAdventures  5 лет назад +1

      @@ClockCutter I didnt care about the front of the group. It was Cam VS me and Cam and I had agreed via text to keep as big of a group as possible to the climb. The race WAS NOT from the gun, it was just the main climb. So I figured Cam and I would hang out in the meat of the group until the climb (as agreed apon, which I asked him and he is the one that said go chill till the climb). I think he just got caught up in the event and tried to stay with the front group. Eitherway, we will rematch from the gun.

      +Requiredfields2 :
      Yeah, the winner 18:27 looks so legit, that he was disqualified www.zwiftpower.com/events.php?zid=125848
      +L. traveler :
      I watched for the profiles of the the first four places, and none of them look legit (at this level of performance).
      1st : disqualified.
      2nd : Cevaz pending, not an elite competitor (not any proof of having finishing one), only a solid cyclosportive.
      3rd : *EX* elite racer (typically below 5w/kg FTP anyway), now supposed to be below that, practicing at a hobby (264km a week during the year, last month 292km a week. Honorable, but nothing amazing.
      4th : *EX* pro. And this isn't ping-pong : in cycling you have to maintain a consistant training to keep a high level of performance. Typically 220km a week during the last year, 255km a week during the last month. Honorable, but no way enough to be competitive. Note : now he has a business as a coach, and perhaps pretending to be strong without training consistantly can have some advantages...
      Now, 5.4w/kg during 1 hour = 5.4w/kg FTP. And that represents 5.68w/kg for a 20' test (if you have a high level of endurance, which can't be the case with that few training they have : not enough volume). With a bad level of endurance (like they all must have, excepted Sean Vintin who has enough km), the gap is bigger between 20' and 1 hour test. But even if i'm tolerant, and I would consider they've a high level of endurance, 5.68w/kg for 20' is mid div. I/II pro, and the lower limit of world class. decaironmantraining.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/power-profiling-chart.gif
      Typical Continental pro is 5.19w/kg for 20' (so 4.93w/kg FTP).
      That's consistant with Jasper Verkuijl and Cameron Jeffers, who can ride at this level, and develop this power (Vegan Cyclist has probably not enough endurance to do so, even if his FTP is nearly enough).
      Most of these zwifters are mythoman, even zava approved. You can be approved and cheat further : approved at 5w/kg (probably by cheating), then develop more, and with less effort. Or being zava approved when you're at your top (like when you're pro), then still be considered at this level after 2 years of stoping training like a pro (like from 800km a week to 250, and being considered to have the same level for life). I've checked several zava approved, and I can easy see they cheat : their cardio doesn't fit at what is possible (way too low comparing to their max power and max heart rate) + doesn't fit at what we see at CVR races and on their further results (lower cardio for the same power compared to what we could see on live videos).

Tyler is an excellent cat 1 rider in his 30's with family commitments from an area with much lower population density. On paper you'd expect Cameron to win, but such credit to Tyler his ability to go so deep is very impressive. Great job bro!!! I'm loving the zwift scene more and more as it continues to evolve. I don't have it due to the beautiful outdoors that we have hear in California. But, I may have to look into it... Maybe... Race season in three weeks away. 😎 Ride don't and smart in 2019. 🤙🏽yutttt

    Great ride man...way to represent. Interested to see his video too. Can't wait to see the rematch...although you just gave him a ton of info (in this video) about how you were doing during the ride. With all his in the ear coaching and whatnot I'm guessing he's able to use that against you next time.

    I didn't comment the first time I watched this but, I have to say well done! My guess is that you have a couple of years on Cameron. He seems to lead a pro rider lifestyle. He does not have two kids and a wife. All of those things are a handicap in performance. Yet you hung on to win! I am very impressed!

      Ian Ffield Younger doesn’t equate to greater physical fitness. Younger rider might recover more quickly from hard efforts, but that is a completely different thing from being more fit. Doesn’t matter anyway. The original comment is silly.

    • @prestachuck2867
      @prestachuck2867 5 лет назад +1

      @Ian Ffield That's good to hear from someone who knows him off-camera, because in his videos he often appears to be angry with the world and overly opinionated. Maybe it's all part of an online persona or something.

      This was not a typical performance for me man, this was achieving 100% of my physical ability. But being able to recover under stress is very important. I recommend doing over under efforts to help your recovering ability.
