I think the sprint profile workout actually aims to push your fat metabolism. Instead of riding at a steady pace (constant oxygen uptake), you increase your oxygen uptake everytime you sprint...and because the sprints only last for 10 seconds - which means you are mostly using your creatine phosphats without any production of lactate - you just keep your body using fats as you continue riding at your FatMax for the next 3min. Your sprinting performance could actually suffer from those kind of workouts, because they will also lower your VLamax (thats why track sprinters take a long pause between their sprints).

You're giving way too much credit to zwift academy. Aerobic fitness gains take 8 weeks to materialise, so the improvement would mostly have been down to the September training block. Great work though!
100% that sep block prepared the gains to be unlocked, but the zwift Academy sharpened the knife. Also, diet was a huge part of this that I didn’t talk about.
why get distracted by the academy, if you have a huge race like BWR lined up? Honestly you should (and did) taper towards the race, but the training prior to the race was wildly different between you and Dylan - Dylan's 5 weeks prior (and more) were aimed specifically for a long distance event like BWR, whereas Zwift Academy is all over - especially the sprint training - for a 100 mile race? and the results show the rest...
I’ll be honest man, I really didn’t think BWR was gonna happen. And I am not a pro, so getting a top 5 at BWR is not my personal focus, it’s more about telling the story. With that said, if I had gone into BWR the way I’m riding now...bro, I might have been there with the D.

For sure, that block shaped the knife, Zwift just sharpened it.
If the name of the game is adaptation, why do 2 w/outs on the same day & then do back to back days? Seems like wasting the specific work for each system .
Wait… Did you say 150 bucks a month for a coach! Dude, give me his number!!
@ATP_coaching on IG. That’s my coach
starting the academy today w/ an ftp of 218. wish me luck lol
@17:02 He shows Zwift in calibrate mode--anyone know to access that feature in Zwift?
On the pairing screen, there should be a wrench icon next to the power connection. Click that, calibrate.
@@TheVCAdventures Thanks I'll check that out!
what course was the second race on up that massive hill?
It’s the France map I think, it’s straight up an hour plus going full dick to the wind the whole time.
Do you use your power meter or the wahoo’s?
I use 2, power pedals and the trainer. I have done better power outdoors though. Just did 361 for 20min IRL
@@TheVCAdventures is it same power measure your trainer and power pedals?
Danke!
bruh i’m gonna do the same thing as you and stack it, you’re my hero not the coach!!
Guys I just finishing 4weeks ftp booster. I'm amator and dont know what to do next.should i go for ZA or just training program Build me up?
Or should i try TR?useing Z for 5 weeks now? Is really huge different between Z and TR?
Thanks 🙋♂️
you should try to have fun :) that's the most important
Zwift academy is pretty good. Also worth doing the group rides that stick to a constant effort such as Herd.
8w/kg 20min for zwift's best??? Did I hear that correctly?
Yeah, but if that’s legit or not...that’s to be seen.
A 40 kg body weight is legit, right? 🤣
What are ketones?
is there any reason why cadence is turned off?
The trainer stopped casting it for some reason. Then I updated the firm ware and now it works.
A couple of the workouts were killers. Much better doing them in a group of 100 plus though
8wpk for 20 min is 50 kilos 400 watts. Or an ftp of 380 qt 50 kilos or 7.6 wpk. That guy is the best cyclist that has ever lived🐐... or full of shit
God we're truly in a black mirror episode ...
Why aren't you recording cadence during your races?
I just updated the trainer and now it works again. It wasn’t working for a while and I couldn’t figure out way. Fixed now though
there's an FTP builder on zwift that I've heard is good. haven't tried it yet.
I’m sorry, 8w/kg for 20 mins isn’t real? Isn’t, just not, it’s impossible, surely. I thought like 6.7w/kg for the hour was world best?
Nice
Lmao I have a better sprint than VC. Don't ask about my FTP though... Absolutely tragic
Who TF did 8w/k for 20min?!?
A weight doper who can't play fair.
@@gamby16a tru. Good news is I'm sure the homie will get weeded out once they actually start going through the data.
Well, I can produce more watts in a sprint than Vegan Cyclist...too bad I outweigh him by at least 50 lb
8w/kg for 20mins?!!! I'm giving up...
Rightttt....im sorry who the FUCK is doing 8wpk now ahah
why get distracted by the academy, if you have a huge race like BWR lined up?
@@TheVCAdventures period 🤣🙋♂️
@@TheVCAdventures fingers crossed for next year! Honestly - the way you're smashing KOMs right now seriously shows anything is possible - you just need to time it right...
