Priceless VC! You are amazing! Love the” why didn’t I bring gloves? I don’t know bruh, I’m a friggin’ idiot!’ VC, you are so human like the rest of us. We love you bruh!
I cannot hold my attention on any of youtube videos lasting more than 5 minutes. But your video, I watched it completely. love your lively commentary and hilarious yet real remarks. great work.
This is my favorite Vegan Cyclist video ever. Not only do I get a glimpse of ME whizzing past the other direction on Del Dios Highway, but some of the trails are literally a mile from my house! See you in 2022, Tyler???
It was nice meeting you at the race. We talked about kids for a little bit during the expo And You passed me on the dirt climb 🤙 this was my first bike race ever haha can’t wait until next year. Used your videos for training motivation! Great video and keep up the good work!
This is probably one of the best edited road races on RUclips. Love the moving graphic on the bottom whilst watching your edited analysis of your performance. Keep this going.
Im signed up for the 77 mile 12k ft Wafer in Asheville this summer. Its going to be sick! I cant wait til we can hang out in groups like this at cycling events again.
You forgot a couple other skills like...nunchuck skills, bow hunting skills and computer hacking skills. You talk about others as professionals. Well sir, the way you race and the way you conduct yourself is very professional. Keep it up.
I'm no where near on the level that you're even on but by watching this; 40th is damn happy hour. It's just so nice to see you stoked and enjoying the sport!
" I never wanna see a rock again" VC bro your awesome watched this video man that day was killer, sunshine hardly shade with the climbs, the speeds, the gravel, rocks, just bro you and all these guys are killing it! keep riding!
Totally loving your channel and videos. Incredibly inspirational, motivating, and entertaining. Thank you so much for all your time and effort in producing and sharing them with us. VCFTW!
Hey, GM here. Laid up the last 9 days following knee replacement surgery and stumbled across your channel. I love these bro and well on my way to watching all the vids. I’m probably a 60% vegan and notched it up to 85% following some of your recipes. Have to say, the vid that really resonated was the one about your wife. Your a lucky man and it looks like you know it. Thanks and keep em coming.
Imagine getting a flat one in the last couple of miles (especially if you are in the leading group). Anyhow. Congrats VC. 40th place from 1800 riders is like top 2%. You did very well!
30 seconds in and I had to pause and comment. Your thousand yard stare into the camera was epically awesome. Thanks Tyler. You do great work. Keep it up Bruh.
The Canyon performed like a champ!!! That race tested every mitochondria cell in your body VC. Guess you answered the question, "what am I gonna do with all this fitness?" Well done!
Damn your content keeps getting better and better. It's like we're in a golden age of RUclips cycling content with you, Lanterne Rouge, nationsnumber1beast, and yes GCN. Keep it up bro!
@irctires made that final dirt climb look so pro with the banners. Love those guys. I was in the US Military kit with you at the start. Great video, thanks!
Man, serious props! Just watching that gave me blisters on my brain and balls 😱 Can't believe that you survived on that rig - 110 psi, rim brake, gloveless - are your eyes still playing pong, are your bones powdered?? Btw, great crash reenactment. Next time, try putting a drone on your back - it should auto launch when you yard sale.
Thanks for highlighting this amazing event. The course you rode goes by our house twice between Escondido and Ramona. I'm totally adding this as a bucket list ride to do, but I love my road bike too much to do that to it. Your crash sequence convinced me that a CX bike with 33mm tires would be a better bet if I want to finish in one piece. Thankfully, I brought one back from Belgium, so . . . time to make plans for post-quarantine
Wow...this is such a cool and inspirational video really showing the full ups// downs during a brutal day of tough riding...and on a road bike! Well that is so tough i'm sure, very big congrats. I did this in 2016 (i was 4th) but i used a cross bike with disk breaks and all so wow. I could not image doing it on those small tires! Keep pushing forward. I think i put this back on the list and give it another go in 2020. RIDE ON!
I would love to get a chance to ride with you next year. It's getting popular so next year your probably gonna have some serious world tour competition.
Still think you made the right choice with the road bike. You have more pluses than minuses. But the main reason you choose the road is you feel comfortable riding it which is Always good for a 100 plus miles ride. Fantastic work 👍👍
The road bike itself has nearly zero benefits besides being maybe a kg lighter than something like a 3T Exploro or anything akin to that. Aero is basically even. Add on some 30-35mm fast rolling (smooth center, light knob shoulders) the 30 seconds you might slide during big climbs due to the weight of a heavier disc brake equipped frame and wider tires, Tyler won't as climbing is his thing and can make up for it, you now don't have to press after every single track, gravel or sandy section. Being able to be part of the pack at the transition out of those sections at the cost of 5-10 watts more to sit in the pack and up the climbs saves a lot more energy than full gas chasing after every single technical section because you don't have the cornering traction or your skinnier tires dig into sand too much.
Tyler, great job and effort!!! Amazing vid and Congratulations on 40th!!! That photo of you in the chair with your bike is KILLER!!! Lovin' it!!! Great Job again Bro!!!
Seeing Phil and you in one video is like... Man, just imagine you would have started cycling professional as a kid!? Respect dude!! Best vid, similar like the other run when you came in 1. place! Less than 5.000 subs... then finally 100.000!
I see your video and think "22 minutes, ugh", but I click on it anyway and am entertained by every second. Very inspiring riding, and your attitude too. Love what this race is, multi-surface, wild. They compare it to Euro classics, but it's really it's own thing.
Tyler "I was intimidated by him, I'm intimidated by a lot of people" Pearce.
Freaking love you man! 20:10
And he says "The guy looks so fit. I don't know if its those white socks."
It's just so refreshing to hear someone admitting that and being honest about what he thinks!
@@amorton9861 ....*looks on Amazon for white socks*
Get a bike room :)
I thought "wow this doesn't look like Belgium at all" for at least 4 minutes
Asparacycle same! Until I saw the sherif car at the end
@@bradleyjones4220 I'm from Belgium and my first thought was, "well this really looks like the mountains near San Diego" :)

Glad your balls were on point the whole time! :)))
You're too funny buddy. Love the story telling. You made a 22 mins video seem like 5. Amazing content bruh!

"d-d-d-d-d-d-d-dd I'm so over gravel!" Loved that moment. You're a beast, cheers man!
DOUBLE PEAKKKK! My backyard. Solid ride Tyler! The BWR is my goal over the next 2-3 years.
214km in 7.23hr -> avg speed 29.6km/hr
I think you did amazing. And great story telling as usual :-)
yup , that was fuckin fast for that distance , i cant imagine that how that would feel
@jenomsedivam elevation is actually not that much for that distance
it is an average.........
@@maye5307 How is it an average when he finished 40th?

I really appreciate that man, I’m the same way so it means a lot to hear that.
I loved the Gripping Crash Sequence Reenactment. Probably an Academy Award in your future.
At least a guaranteed win in special FX category.
This is my favorite Vegan Cyclist video ever. Not only do I get a glimpse of ME whizzing past the other direction on Del Dios Highway, but some of the trails are literally a mile from my house! See you in 2022, Tyler???
Tyler: I don't want to see freaking rock ever again!
Mountain Biker: Haha tires go dududududu
To think I finished 4 hours behind you. You're insane. the Ride is insane. Loved almost every minute of it

8:40 dude smashing on a flat bar!
Sick video man I'm dying to do this race
Michael Baka sscx flat bar anyone?
He would have better control with a flat bar, correct?
Yeah on the technical stuff
I remember seeing this on prime! I enjoyed watching this

Awesome vid, prob the best I've seen of a PoV race. Great stuff!
Legend nice work la x
I think a cyclocross bike woulda been perfect for this
Swap the Crank out and WHAM!
Think I saw a Canyon Inflite near the start? A gravel bike with slick tyres might be even better.
Amazing to keep up that level of effort for 7 hours. Great video, as always.

Nice footage and congrats. 👍
Check out Salzkammergut trophy the A distance 210,2km with 7119meter of climbing. That is what I call one of the hardest 1 day races in the world 😁
Yes really hard because only 24.7% is road rest is gravel and trail. Heavy stuff.
Super awesome job! Loved this video.
So cool to watch man! Just found the channel a couple days ago, good stuff. 👍
Long time viewer, first time commenter. This is probably my favorite video from you. It's killer.
Thanks for the support bro, glad you enjoyed the video.
Awesome vid, thanks for uploading. Tough race, well done!!

It's a good race. Thanks for presenting!
