    Hello Eva,
    I can relate 100%
    I am 63 from Canada. There are many women, like myself, who have been through a lot over the decades.
    I do not have children, my pets have passed away and my ex-husband ended our marriage almost 2 years ago. I also lost my job this past January.
    Being on my own has given me the freedom to decide what my next steps will be in my life.
    I moved out of the apartment I was renting for 12-1/2 years and I have given much of my things away.
    I am a pet sitter on the side, so I now have pet contracts up until mid-September. After that, I am moving provinces. Plus, I begin a new job next week, 100% remote, which means I can work from anywhere.
    One of my future goals is to volunteer at animal sanctuairies all over the world. Like you Eva, I love animals. I love them so much that I became vegan in February 2012.
    Being on my own, I have the freedom to live the way I am.
    I am not lonely. I am on my own.
    If it ever happens that I do "feel lonely" (which is rare), I will get together with a friend, do an activity on my own, or go somewhere where there are people and/or animals, and the loneliness subsides because of interacting with others.
    So, yes. I am grateful and happy to be on my own.
    It is not for everyone to want this lifestyle. We are all individuals with our own wants, needs & desires.
    What's important is to learn who we truly are, deep down inside ourselves, and to follow that path ❤️🙏

    I'm an extrovert, however I will not let anyone interfere with my desire for peace and quiet. In the last five years, as I learned what really occurred in our history and to our world, I found few people researching as I do. I also noticed I was depressed after being with shallow people. Being alone allows me to learn the truth and not have to hear stupid people's opinions that come from ignorance. Like-minded people are on the internet, and it is so much more interesting to me. Thanks for saying what needs to be said. I agree 100%.

    I’ve learned that just because I am single, that doesn’t mean that I am always lonely. Just because I’m doing my shift at a busy grocery store, at an arena at a concert surrounded by 30,000 people or at a packed restaurant with family members doesn’t mean that I’m NOT alone!

    • @evaellenjoan

      Absolutely! 👍 Being single doesn't equate to loneliness, especially when you're surrounded by people or engaged in activities you enjoy. It's about finding contentment and connection in various moments, whether alone or in the company of others. Thanks for sharing your perspective! 💥

    We can live a real, unapologetic, authentic life when we live alone. For all of the reasons you’ve stated. And one of the biggest luxuries of living alone, for me…is not having someone insist I share my bed with them every single night anymore. No one snoring to ruin my sleep. No one’s multiple trips to the bathroom during the night to interrupt my sleep. No one’s tossing and turning all night, or hogging the blankets…or watching tv in the bedroom when I’m wanting to fall asleep, or wanting sex when I’m dead tired, or sleeping, or first thing in the morning when I haven’t even opened my eyes yet. So intrusive. Sharing a bed with another person became such an unbearable annoyance when I was married…it is one of my biggest reliefs post-divorced. Never again…will I be in a position where I have to share my home, and especially - my bed, every single day (or night)…with another person. Never. A pure luxury…living alone is. 🙏

    Since 2009, I've been a widow and raised our 2 kids alone. They are now both living away from home and I have learned to adapt and appreciate living alone. I don't think I'd ever want to live with anyone now and I am happy I never remarried. I had a near miss but thankfully I saw the light and ended the relationship before it became legal! Yes, living alone can be incredibly liberating and I have discovered I can be just fine with our without a smart man at my side.

    Fabulously alone, 100% ! I love to live alone for all those reasons you’ve sited, and really enjoyed your unapologetic take ! Thank you! I’ll look forwards to hearing more from you, and congratulations on the new channel. I sometimes feel people I know don’t really believe I choose to live alone because it makes me happy, they certainly don’t feel the same and often assume in an ideal world I’d be living with a partner . I also get invited out a lot because friends think if I’m just kicking about the house by myself I must be bored or lonely. I’m never lonely and I’m very very rarely bored, because I’m already living my ideal life! It’s great to hear I’m not alone in my love of being alone 😁

    One of my girlfriends was visiting me then all of a sudden she had to rush home because her husband called complaining that he was hungry. It's so nice not to have to take care of a man; not to have to cook for, clean up after, always have to be ready for sex for him, etc. I don't need the love and attention of a man; I give that to myself.

After years of serving others in the family, it gives me wings to have freedom to look after myself, my way. Once you have that feeling, its hard to go back. I guess the things I worry about if my husband passed, is security, someone to get things done besides paying all the time, and loneliness, although I am an introvert also

    • @evaellenjoan
      @evaellenjoan  9 дней назад +1

      Joyce, it's understandable to have concerns about security and managing tasks alone, especially after losing a spouse. ❤ It's great that you've identified these challenges early on. Many people find ways to address these concerns through planning, support networks, or even exploring new hobbies or social activities to combat loneliness. Your self-awareness as an introvert can also be a strength in finding fulfilling ways to enjoy your own company. As for things being done besides paying all the time, there are solutions... I could make a video on that for you soon! 🍀

    • @evaellenjoan
      @evaellenjoan  18 дней назад +17

      Hi Lisa,
      Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I appreciate your concern and the opportunity to explain my perspective further.
      Living alone doesn’t necessarily equate to being lonely or dangerous. It's a choice I've made for several reasons, and it brings me peace and fulfilment. Here are some points to consider:
      *I lived with my life partner until he suddenly passed away. Living alone was not a choice back then; it was put upon me, and I am happy that I learned how to live happily on my own. Here in Spain, at least, it is normal that you stay alone at home after your partner dies, so it is nothing out of the ordinary that I choose to do so.
      *Still today, I continue to serve others extensively, dedicating about 50 - 60 hours a month to volunteer work. This commitment ensures I'm engaged with the community and surrounded by people, even virtually.
      *As an introvert, I need alone time to recharge. This self-care allows me to be more present and effective in my interactions with others.
      *For over 45 years now, I've dedicated myself to serving both humans and animals. I've always prioritized giving to others, often at the expense of my own needs and health.
      *Being self-employed, I interact with many people daily. The few hours I spend alone at home are crucial for my well-being, allowing me to maintain a healthy balance and continue my service effectively.
      *Being alone and being lonely are not the same. Solitude can be enriching and empowering, providing a necessary space for reflection and self-care.
      I hope this clarifies why living alone is a positive and nurturing choice for me. It’s not about being superficial or self-centered; rather, it's about finding a sustainable way to continue giving to others while also caring a bit for myself in those few hours I have to myself every day.
