I think it would be awesome to start a boat valet service. If you're inexperienced at backing down a ramp, loading or unloading your boat. There could be a two-man service that backs your trailer down the ramp, parks your tow vehicle, while the boat operator picks up the boaters at the dock and switches places with the boating party and vice-versa when your done. Of course the best solution is practice, practice, and practice all while using common courtesy.
There is a lady at one of the boat ramps here on the Potomac that does that for people. This lady is a champ. She'll back your boat down, take your boat off, put your boat on, and pull your boat out. And she faster than everyone there.
Hopefully some of these clowns will figure out having a boat is too much trouble and get rid of theirs thereby making more room for the ones of us who have it figured out. HOPEFULLY.
Here is a tip for new boaters. If you can barely see your bunks or not at all, You have the trailer too far in the water to load your boat. They need to be about 1/4 to 1/3 of the way out of the water depending on the weight of your boat, size of trailer and steepness of the ramp, so that friction can help you center it on the trailer. Then when you pull out, gravity does the rest and sits your boat straight down on the trailer bunks. Learn this, and you've got 1/2 of the battle won for most normal sized boats on most ramps, which is better than not seeming to know a damn thing like most noob boaters and making this part of boating a pain in the ass and making you look stupid.
Should be mandatory for New boaters to dock, load, launch, set ropes, use anchors among other things. To get that done they should go to the Reservoir or Lake go during middle of week and Practice doing it. And somebody should be there to record them and point them to the right direction on how to do things. Then they can download their videos of proof they've done it before they get Permanent tags.
It's so easy on my boat. I have twin axles, and I know that when one fender is just submerged and other is just out of the water, my boat slides up on to the bunks perfectly. (Conversely, I know that submerging both fenders, will cause to the boat to float freely. I don't understand how people can put a boat in more than a few times and not figure out the sweet spot on where their trailer needs to be when putting the boat on and off.

Godfrey is correct, the most common mistake made when trailering a boat is trailer too far in water. But if you have to pull it on by hand, they sure didn’t have it far enough.
Regardless of how far in the water is just right vs too deep, can't they use the trailer windlass to ease it the bumpers? I understand it may damage the gelcoat if not deep enough (or enough water lubrication, etc) but it would pull it straight up the trailer instead of off-center by pulling it manually. (My only useful experience is jet ski loading so I don't know enough, just speculating.)
You can use the trailer winch if you so choose to if the trailer is too shallow. If the trailer is too deep. It’s easy to over run the trailer, the boat is more likely to not sit straight on the bunks, and due to the angles involved when the boat comes out of the water the bow will not be pulled up tight against the front post. Typically it will be about 3 inches from touching post. This causes undue stress on the trailer when towing and cause a terrible ride/tow.
Well I can see why the Tracker boat guy was in such a hurry, he clearly needs the extra time to load his boat. Then the blue boat, maybe try that "winchy" think on the trailer that might help. SMH! two guys in swimsuits both afraid to get wet. These videos are such a train wreck. I'm laughing my butt off over here.
Dude in the Tracker wasn't any better with a steering wheel than she was with the chevy-guess opposites don't attract. Never fails, 99% sink the trailer to power load, then here comes the hand load and doesn't put it under far enough. I'm like Godfrey, sure hope these last 18 month buyers decide boating wasn't that fun after all and disappear.
I’m with ya on that. I sure hope they decide to get rid of the toys they don’t know how to use properly. Same way with campers and campgrounds. You can’t just decide to go camping any more. You have to reserve months in advance. The down side to them selling is, it’ll just be another person with that boat or camper so I don’t think it’ll taper off for at least 10 years until the boat or camper is used up.
Moving to east coast Florida next month. I have never driven a boat in my life. Where should my wife and I start? Is there lessons or is it pretty much sink or swim?
@@damonslazyk8724 If born past a certain date Florida now requires an online safety course before vessels can be registered. I'd review it even If you don't have to do so to get registered. If you've never backed a trailer A LOT in your life find a place to practice BEFORE you go to a ramp.. Use 2 liter bottles as cones and make it difficult. Trouble turning the right way, use your hand on the bottom of the steering wheel then it's like using it on the top going forward-turn the way you want to go. 2 most important things are 1-if vessel is running and not attached to trailer or dock then lanyard kill-switch has to be connected 2-never approach anything faster than you want to hit it. No that's the big problem around there them people don't realize that they are looking stupid because they think that they are doing perfect thinking that's the way it's supposed to be done

That’s one busy boat ramp but at least for the most part people keep their boats moving. In New York City my neck of the woods people tie off their boats and jet skis and go have lunch without any consideration for the next guy. So I just move the boats myself. But that’s because I’m 6 feet seven and weigh 350 pounds. They can't move me that easily.
I can't tell you how many times I have taken a six pack, a couple of cigars and a comfortable lawn chair down to the boat ramp/dock and watched idiots put boats in the water. If you really want to spice it up. Take a couple of buddies and place dollar bets on who makes the worst moves or bet on attempts to back down....... There is no finer entertainment. The really fun ones are the ones who don't put in the plug before launch. Hey, your boats taken on water............. LOL!
Nothing I hate more than people who launch or load their boats and feel the need to arrange rods and reels, tackle, anchor ropes, coolers put in the plug, unstrap the boat, hold twenty minute conversations with another boater etc, while blocking the ramp. I generally unload or load in 2 to 3 minutes and I'm out of the way. Last weekend I sat in position to back my trailer down, while both ramps were tied up for 20 minutes while two idiots had a nice long talk, and the other did everything but an engine overhaul while sitting at the waters edge.
the folks with the Cadallic and blue boat "clearly" have more money than "common sense"!!. But they did figure out how to back the trailer and finally got it deep enough to get the boat out. Did they back into the girl with the suv or did she drive into them? Keep up the good work

He needed a longer run up to the trailer so he could adjust for the crosswind. Trying to line up that close to the trailer gave him no time to adjust for that wind.
@@timothyboone5003 not really. He just needed to adjust and steer correctly.... making it a longer run really just creates more time for error... which he already appeared to not be able to handle....
I think it's funny when people back the tow vehicle up to the bumper under water to load a boat. Less trailer in the water makes it easier. Experiment a few times on a ramp on a quiet day so you can launch or retrieve your boat in a minute or less. I only spend 5 minutes of my day at the ramp including waiting to launch. Dude in the Tracker is clueless. Get rid of the damn boat and do us all a favor
I learned to fly in the 70's. The first thing I was taught was to use smooth and minor adjustments. Works great with a boat too.
my old man was a military pilot and i've found a lot of the stuff they teach for flying translates well to boats and cars. my favorite being "fly the plane first"
🤣 This is worse than the Miami Chit show at the black point marina.
In all fairness... (#likeaboss (09:06)
...NO traffic
NO wake (almost like glass)
NO fighting physics
+ Launching at the beginning of your outing vs. Recovering after a day out on the water
Both should have a routine, but fatigue, hunger, dehydration, and easily surfaced emotions are hazardous
He's about as good operating the boat as she is driving the tow vehicle...
At least everyone moved out so he won't hit them
😆
What a struggle…. I’m having a problem with anxiety just watching….
It's terrible. Lol!
Remind me to stay the HELL away from this lake!!!
Lol!
The dude in the bass tracker 🤣🤣🤣
Feel like I am watching a Jeff Foxworthy skit of " You're so dumb"
Lol!
Lol, the red boat should just pull it on by the dock, hahaha what a joke
Paige and Kevin,it’s amazing how when you put trailer all the way in the water the boat floats right on! Thanks for sharing! Kevin
Actually having a trl. in too deep is the trouble with 90% of loading problems.
I meant deep enough for the boat to get on without a struggle! Kevin
Next time dude, order the boat trailer without the winch.
Thanks for watching!!
Dude in the Tracker sucks.
That "winchy thing" worked pretty good.
I watch Alfred Montaner's channel all the time and notice something: the girls fight a lot more than the boys! 😂
Too much testosterone? Naaah!
So many people that have no business with a boat. I swear we need a mandatory boat operators safety course and license
We have that for road vehicles and it hasn't helped much.
@@scotttaylor5482 but it has helped
9:37 of life I'll never get back
Also the minutes you spent making this comment. 😔
Lol that thing on the front is a winch pal
Dude in the Tracker wasn't any better with a steering wheel than she was with the chevy-guess opposites don't attract. Never fails, 99% sink the trailer to power load, then here comes the hand load and doesn't put it under far enough.
I'm like Godfrey, sure hope these last 18 month buyers decide boating wasn't that fun after all and disappear.
If they cannot back up a trailer then they should not have a boat😂😂😂😂
I’m with ya on that. I sure hope they decide to get rid of the toys they don’t know how to use properly.
Same way with campers and campgrounds. You can’t just decide to go camping any more. You have to reserve months in advance.
The down side to them selling is, it’ll just be another person with that boat or camper so I don’t think it’ll taper off for at least 10 years until the boat or camper is used up.
Moving to east coast Florida next month. I have never driven a boat in my life. Where should my wife and I start? Is there lessons or is it pretty much sink or swim?
Get In the blue boat and pull it up on trailer. Jesus. God this is not that hard.
@@damonslazyk8724 If born past a certain date Florida now requires an online safety course before vessels can be registered. I'd review it even If you don't have to do so to get registered.
I'd also pull up USCG rules and regs, learn the meaning of channel makers, buoys, emergency channels if offshore, etc. I'd also use tag words on yt/google to pull up vids on things like launching/loading, ramp procedures.
Enjoy Florida and it's waters!!!
Time for private boat ramps 😃
OMG!!! Get a run in a little to the left of the trailer and turn the engine right when you start to drift off. Some people should never own boats.
Found my way over here from Wavy Boats. Great videos but wow I sure see a lot of people with boats that maybe shouldn’t have boats lol.
Thank you for watching!! 😊
is that Lake Wylie and Larry Johnson's old house across the lake?
It is Lake Wylie. 😊
It was a little painful to watch the black escalade at the end try to load the blue boat. I usually load my boat the same when when I'm alone, but my trailer has rollers so I can load it and still hold my beer.
Oh my goodness, Cady boyo is every bit as bad as tracker boat boyo. It is very scary to think that these people are operating a boat and driving cars. Makes my shake my head and wonder. God help us all!!!!!!!!
The way that pale guy was moving around reminded me of Buster Keaton. I was waiting for him to do a goofy stunt.
Don't people know why there's a Winch on the trailer?
I suppose some people would rather look dumb or stupid rather than try to learn the simplicities of launching and picking a boat . Sounds cruel but true ....
This is the worst place to learn for sure!!
No that's the big problem around there them people don't realize that they are looking stupid because they think that they are doing perfect thinking that's the way it's supposed to be done
All I am wearing is shorts and yet I won't step in 1 ft of water to make my job of loading the boat any easier. I like the dockview have them backing up that was really good page
Thanks for watching!
I think the Escalade driver was afraid of getting his SUV's tires wet.
I love watching people act like idiots at a boat ramp 🤣😂😆🤣.
Me too and so does 159k others the only thing better would be sitting there watching
Lmfao. Let's pull it as far as we can then use the winch, God I wish I owned a boat dealer there
Lol!
Where is this launch ?…….So I can avoid it like the plague !!
Lake Wylie, SC!
I have been HEALED ! Never want to own a boat .
😂
At least they didn't act totally crazy about the accident.
I agree. They stayed pretty calm. Tempers flare when it's hot out and a long day and you're just ready to get home.
The guy in the red tracker needs to go to boating school!!
I don't think the brotha ever parked a boat in his life...
I think he dropped his Anchor in that big Ass white girl!
People that cant handle a boat in the wind know nothing about vector physics.
Some people have no business doing this.
was it everyone's first day with a boat and trailer??? WOW!!
When Walmart hits the water. I am so grateful for my private lake and dock. Oofah that looks scary.
It's going to be nuts this year with Allison being closed!
LOL!
Best way to spend a Saturday!
Keep up the good work
I didn't see it happen, but I think the girl with the red boat hit the other car.
@@paigeattheboatramp neither one were driving a car
@Justin Savage, you know what I mean. 😅
Boat ramps and rednecks, a marriage made in Heaven.
Maybe the little guy trying to load his boat needs to invest in a winch
There is a learning curve to launching and trailering a boat. :)
Looked like a Florida plate on that trailer.
I didn't even notice that!
Half the people shouldn't even have a boat. I wouldn't even give them a rookie rating.
Only fight I saw was the boaters trying to get the boat out of the water .
OMG, how long are they going to fiddle and fuss over a $10 broken tail light? having a $70K tow vehicle like that I can't imagine they will go broke replacing it.
It's like watching pontoon hell...
You never disappoint
Thank you!!
02:35 TO 05:50 Why did it take that dude in the little red boat SO FK'G LONG to put that tiny boat on the trailer? And the blue boat? Friggin' NOOBS! Good grief, my boats twice the size. When the trailer hits the water, you POWER UP ONTO IT!! Then hook the hand winch & pull it the last 6-10 inches or so, if you can't drive it forward enough to get the bow to settle into the bow saddle.... chain it AND GO! He was hanging around for to more than 2 1/2 minutes driving in circles???
The Tracker guy never stood a chance because he didn't line up properly. Power loading is easiest when you are by yourself but it takes practice.
That tracker boat was sitting pretty low in water smuggle struggles loading
I think it's funny when people back the tow vehicle up to the bumper under water to load a boat. Less trailer in the water makes it easier. Experiment a few times on a ramp on a quiet day so you can launch or retrieve your boat in a minute or less. I only spend 5 minutes of my day at the ramp including waiting to launch. It's not very difficult to go boating if you have at least 2 working brain cells
These folks have no business, owning and operating boats. Make it so difficult.
Boats and drunk drivers don't mix.
Broken tailights don't generally clip back on.
3 words people, Drive On Trailer !
Yes!!
I feel for the guy in the Tracker.
Why, he drives just like his gal that runs into trailers. So similar they could be jelly and jam.
Same WmRob!
