Yes to the dining table! If time permits.
Hi Chad! How is Safety Dan doing? You guys were always the odd couple. ;o) Bill and do the table video. Thanks.
That was a really nice idea, using the rasp after the saw, to flatten the part! I would have tried it with a chisel. Much more risky :)
Cheers from Greece!
thanks for sharing that 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
How did I know you would choose Option 2 LOL. Production comes first, but you could always just 'Build' and film. No voice or fancy camera angles. That way, you get some time efficiency and we can look over your shoulder and pick up tips as you go :)
Interested in seeing ANY video you can make! Nice example on how to improve appearances at a joint. I particularly liked that you mentioned the wood grain and how to work around an unfavorable tendency for tear-out. When you build a mock-up, what kind of wood are you using? I am a beginner, and I made a mock-up end table using 1/4" underlayment for the table top and aprons. Then made the real end table with 3/4" cherry. It would be interesting to see your mock-up and perhaps show us how it helps you decide on changes you want to make for the official build.
As far as making mock-ups, I use any scrap wood laying around in my shop. I just roughly nail or screw it together. It's not pretty but it just helps to give me a full-size image of what the final piece will look like.
I watch everything that can teach me something new, Chad. I never made a table. So...
Excellent tip, Chad! Will be sharing. Thank you!
of corse i would like to see the dining table , but if it's asking to mutch time for you i'll understand .
Yes, I would enjoy watching the dining table.
Really enjoy your content. Film the table build!!

I would love to see the dining room table build if its not to much trouble
great lesson, fun to watch. thank you share your great job.
Definitely make the vid chad
I enjoy seeing how you work so seeing a table build would be great, but I understand time is money.
Your efforts are appreciated.
Thank you, Charlie, my friend. I am filming it. Holy cow it's going to be a LOOOOOONG edit.
Chad, Thank you - Yes, we are interested in watching the build. Happy Holidays
Thank you David. Happy holidays to you too
Claro que nos gustaría ver el vídeo 🙂👍

Nice job Chad
Yes to the table!
Yes! Film it!!!!
nice gaps chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad
Hi Chad, great videos. and very inspiring too !!! I'm a beginner woodworking from UK. I would be great to the back end the project as you have have sawn us the Level 1 to 5 already.
My first thought was to run a leg proxy with a low grit sand paper wrapped around it... But your way looks WAY more accurate. I'm a beginner and here because I guessed the method, first, then watched to see if I was right. I'm glad I wasn't!
Hate to ask for video, cuz it already looks mind-bogglingly tedious! I'm glad you can find customers who appreciate quality hand-craftsmanship, and pay you enough to build it several times over.
Like another person, your method of using a rasp is better than my old method of using a chisel or saw is sized permitted. I've learned a lot from you over the few years I have been wood working. As far as the table goes, yes I would like to see you build it IF you aren't in a crunch for time to meet your deadline. Thank you.
I love you bro. Great info. Major talent. Puns so bad they’re funny. A haircut so bad it must be on purpose! 😀
Nice fix for the loose tenons matching the curvature of the leg to the stretchers, The dining table sounds like a great project to document. If the legs are turned round and tenons cut in rails. skirts to match mortices in legs a quick video on fitting those would interesting.
As somebody here already said...yes to the table but no if it hurts your productivity. Thanks for your videos and woodworking info!
Maybe a compromise and just make an overview video of the table and any extra tricky aspects to it you had to solve like the stretcher to round leg connection. Thanks for all the great content.
I’ve learned a lot from you and would like to see the table build. Thanks Chad.
If you can please record it would love to see that table you do excellent work and I enjoy your videos God bless everyone.
No doubt..the whole project build would be great to view. This was a great tip!
I’d love to see the dining room table build video.....
The table build? It's a yes from me. Pretty please :)
Yes to the table video, but no if it hurts your productivity.
I would like to see the table video. Keep up the good work.
Just use the camera and do a voice over later to speed it up the build
I would be interested in watching the table build.
Real nice recovery from those unsightly gaps, thanks for sharing all your knowledge.
I would absolutly enjoy seeing the table build. I am about to build a modified farmhouse table 9 feet long and I have never built anything that huge, any help I can pick up from a professional such as yourself would be gratly appreciated.
Sure. If you have questions write me and i'll help you out
Please film the dining table build.
Please film dining room table
I now before true master💯
Great tip. I vote yes to the table build.
I read all the comments and it's 100%. Guess we will be getting a table video!!! Yea!!!
Hahaha it seems so. I should have never said anything :-)
Always like to so your work lol
What about wrapping PSA sandpaper to the spindle leg while on the lathe and pushing the stretcher into it to get that shape? Although the hand tool method is much more impressive.
Ah interesting method. That's the thing I love about woodworking. There is no ONE WAY to do something
Easier and faster way: Use drill press and hole saw cutter to those horisontal woods to match the legs. Hole saw cutter's diameter same as the leg.
The leg tapers. So the top of the stretcher (and apron) would be slightly different than the bottom of the stretcher. Would the hole saw trick still work? Do you have a video of it? I'm having trouble envisions the process.
As always, you're a pretty good teacher Chad. Thanks alot!
Thank you Michel
That was an outstanding tip Chad. I really liked your solution to the problem and how you went about making the piece look right.
Great technique and problem solving.
Your ideas are always helpful.
Great tip and idea on recessing the aprons. It would be great to see a video on the table even if it's just the jointery part of the build. As always thanks for what you do.
Nice job!
Film it.
I was so inspired by your work that I had to try it, myself. Worked great! But, my wife is a little peeved that I put a new stretcher on her dining table.
thanks
Nice technique. I never would hav3 thought of the rasp.
Great job… thank you
Oh thank you very much. I hope you subscribe to my channel. I would very much appreciate if. 😁
Yes from me for the table build. Time permitting of course.
Great tip, Chad. I would really like to see the table build, too. Take care.
Bill
Would love to see the dining table! Really outstanding content. Thanks a lot!
I all the time love to see you at work!!
So yes definitely if there is an options to film whit the time frame then for sure yes
Hi, Yes to dining table, Thanks
It would be interesting to see the full table build
I like your solution. My problem would be four different recesses cut, getting the stretchers to seat properly would drive me nuts. How did you maintain an exact set of depths?
I was thinking one could make a jig that attaches to the leg that provides a flat reference surface, so a router plane could be used to insure flatness and make the consistent depth.
Thanks for sharing. Don’t you have to account for the lesser distance between the legs now? IF the width is critical
Yes if it's really critical it might be. In my case, it's probably just slightly over a 1/16" less in width now.
Great tips!
Another nice and helpful video Chad! Thank you. And of course we would love u to film that modern dining table you are currently working on. We would definitely learn more on your proper methods and techniques on how to build it. The rounded legs with angles are challenging enough its already worth watching! Thanks Chad for keeping on dancin for your viewers and subscribers.
a forstner bit of the right size would have done the job, faster, and with better results
