They may be sewn by hand, machine or any combination. 1st Prize - £1,000, 2nd Prize - £500, 3rd Prize - £250
In all categories the judges will be looking for:
* Visual impact and the emotional response the quilt evokes
* The originality and content of the design
* The composition and use of colour
* The choice and suitability of materials
* Surface design and embellishment
* Construction and accuracy of piecing
* Design and execution of applique
* Design and execution of quilting
* A suitable finish (the edges of the piece) and how well the piece hangs
Credit is given for individuality and innovation in all entries.

I just have to compliment the filming of this show! It was done so expertly; the backing up and then the closeups were exactly done the way visitors who were present would taken the artistry. Thank you!
Thank you so much.
Thank s for this video. It is so encouraging, as a self-taught quilter, to see quilts that
I would feel confident in making. The one with the bicycle would be perfect for me as
I cycle everywhere. The selvedge quilt made me laugh. This is a video I will definitely
view again 😍
We're delighted you enjoyed it. Thank you for your kind comment, and we hope to see you this year at FoQ
Thank you for sharing. Without a doubt this was the best video photography of a quilt exhibition I have ever seen. Great job!!!!!!
Thanks so much 😊
Wonderful video, the music was fine, not too loud, or obnoxious. The filming was excellent and the closeups were great! Thank you for sharing this video, was like being at the show!
Excellent!
This was the absolute best recording of a quilt show I've ever seen. Beautiful job, I felt like I was physically there able to peek closeup. Perfect music. Many thanks🙏
Glad you enjoyed it!
Einer schöner als der andere! Wunderbare Quilts.
Excellent thank you.
What a great show! Would love to attend one someday.
How totally awesome to hear Kaffe’s comments on some quilts! And what a fantastic show aswell. Such an inspiration 🪡🧵
Great to hear you liked this video: ruclips.net/video/wKrHKku5pYE/видео.html Thank you. It was a great show too!
An excellent film of the Contemporary category at your Festival of Quilts ,Uk ! I may have to watch it again . 👍🇨🇦💗
Brilliant video of the quilts in this category, although I went to the show I have watched this with the catalogue. Lovely to see the quilts again. Thank you. 👏
You're very welcome. Glad you enjoyed it!
Sorry, but music is creepy, had to turn off the sound, very distracting
Funeral dirge 😂😂
I saw my name on the quilt called “respect”. My name is fairly uncommon - as were many of the names listed - so now I’m intrigued to know more about this quilt… -Charissa
Hi Charissa. The following information was published in the Competition Catalogue by Festival of Quilts 2023:

London
"Respect"
Appliqué, back stitch, hand stitched/quilted.
Cottons.
Every Year the names of women killed by men are read out in Parliament by Jess Phillips as a mark of respect. As my mark of resect their names have been back stitched onto the quilt for those who died in 2022. It is a sad fact that 92% of the women know their killer.
Not for sale.

Wow!
Нет слов,красота,воооообще кайф
stunning work!
Is that your real last name or one for utube? My first name is Jayne. 🩷🇨🇦👍
Love the filming of this show but simply had to mute that "music" or sound effects.
Horrifying music.
Can’t watch as the music if you can call it that, is sickening. Too bad as the quilts pls interesting
Sorry you feel that way. Maybe watch without the sound on and have your own preferred music on in the background? That way you can choose the track and still see the quilts!
Yeah, it's called a mute button.
How hard can it be to turn it off if you don’t like the music?
I liked the music.
Dreadful soundtrack had to silence it!
