I had the high honor ending. However, with low honor, not only is the dialogue is different, but the fact that this ending is much shorter than the high honor death says a lot about how much he matters or doesn’t matter. High honor means that he was a good man, and people liked and respected him regardless of him being an outlaw. With that said, (high honor) we get to see Arthur die slowly, but at least in peace. Low honor means that he was bad and that nobody cared about what happened to him, as long as he was dead and forgotten about. So the low honor death was shorter and Arthur dies in darkness. Great job on details Rockstar.
“Nobody cared about what happened to him in low honor” wtf r u saying, the epilogue is the same, john sadir and charles cared about Arthur so much that they avenged him
@@lastplayer5838 that’s not the point though. It’s to show the indifference of the rest of the world. Yes he made a difference for John and Abigail, but ultimately he never changed and the world continues on, just another dead outlaw. It’s truly a more realistic ending imo
Now I got the high honor death, but watching this moved me the same way it did in the low honor. The "May I! Stand unshaken" lower tones work welly with the low honor. The black canine scene is also very beautiful, how the blue lightning strikes the sky in the stormy night. It matches this Arthur's death and how it zooms out on the lonely mountain, in which Arthur (low honor) has always felt alone in his own way. *Beautiful.*
Use the fucking most brutal shit ever. And kill him with no mercy, Fucking kill him slow and let him feel the pain. Also bring his corpse to hell or the alligators...

I just been shoked when Micah just killed Arthur. I just been shoked, and doesn't believe that. I thinked he lived the headshot. Once one second, i thinked John in the beginning of epilogue after Arthur death, is Arthur. (Sorry for my Eng)
I feel this is (or should be) the cannon ending. Arthur goes throughout the entire game/story being the bad guy he is meant to be (the outlaw) and shows no mercy to anybody. Then when he finds out he has TB, he begins trying to redeem himself and be more honorable, but it’s too late and the damage has been done.
@@selectdevotee6810 Not exactly. They were representatives of elite corporate interests and an imperialistic/expansionist government. Me too. I was so pissed and was going to be forever angry if I didn't get a chance to kill Micah lol. I didn't know honor mattered my first time around. I have played it twice more since then and couldn't bring myself to have Arthur go out like that!
I like that no matter which route you take, arthur is never pretentious or cowardly. He knows that he has wronged so many and that he deserves no better than any of the gang. Arthur truly is a great character even if hes not a good guy.
GER Production he looked pathetic good or bad ending, but I like how he says “Damn us both!” Cuz those words can’t be erased with a gunshot. Arthur was the wise one and Micah was the child, so it’s really perspective who really looked pathetic, but also it ties up the overall story message better, like all these good deeds a good man, who’s a criminal, does, and no one ever knows or sees or cares. And in the end a good man’s bad deeds as an outlaw finally catch up with a gunshot to the head
Jake Bulette Yeah, but it goes against the theme which is redemption. This ending is certainly more tragic, but also makes everything kinda meaningless. Also Micah and Arthur will both own each other’s souls in hell lmao.
Manu J. It doesn’t make it meaningless. He says “damn us both!” And he dies, which is powerful. One might say his redemption was saving John, or that it was John who made the redemption by killing all the gang members who disagreed with Arthur. I can see your point of view with him looking at the sunset as the redemption; it works. There’s more ways to perceive this. As a stand-alone game maybe the sunset makes more sense for the title of the game, but for the two games combined maybe the latter is more empowering for johns redemption
Jake Bulette I respectfully disagree. Although I agree that the: “damn us both!” line is powerful, the path to low honor seems kind of strange. To get low honor, one has to kill lots of civilians or start unnecessary shootouts (or even worse). It makes Arthur seems like a complete heartless madman, which seems off-character (yes he was bad, but a low honor Arthur is a whole new level). Arthur calling out Micah for his bad behavior only makes hims seem very hypocritical. Also John killing the gang members who disagreed with Arthur doesn’t sound like redemption, but more like revenge. If the game was really mostly about John’s redemption, they might as well slap him on the game cover, hell they might then even delete Arthur as a character. I think Arthur should have his own redemption arc to truly make him more well-rounded. You could call the complete low-honor playtrough a tragedy, but it wouldn’t actually be one. For it to be a tragedy, Arthur would have had to start out as descent and slowly become more awful (similar to Dutch), this is not the case. Arthur was clearly shown as ruthless in the beginning. If he also dies ruthless, he becomes a less interesting character.
This was the ending I got. My honor was just barely below the middle. To me it really symbolized how Arthur wanted to live a good life but his past eventually caught up to him, no matter how much he wanted to be better and run away from it. Beautiful ending in my opinion.
Even though I tried to turn everything around, I still got this ending but I’m kinda satisfied with it. I find that in movies, books, shows, etc it’s so much more impactful to the viewer/reader when the protagonist dies when they least expect it.
Honestly looks better with the hat on also side note how does he get his hat back especially with the Pinkertons around why should he bother getting it back his only cherished belongings are his guns so why does he have the hat on epilogue I think in low honour go back for money ending Arthur should have kept his hat and in that final fight in the epilogue Micah should have worn Arthur's hat as a trophy as one massive fuck you to the player who got the worst ending
To the people who say “why would you be low honor, high honor ending is so much better” the reason low honor is realistic is because it wouldn’t make sense for Micah to leave Arthur lying there and shooting Arthur I’m the face really proved Micah “won” with his hate for Arthur
I've always liked this ending most. It feels like a much more realistic way for an outlaw to go out, but the way Arthur faces his death is what sells it for me. He knows his time is up; he knows he's done all he can do; so now he's ready. He uses his final words to antagonize Micah into shooting him because he simply doesn't care anymore. His work is done, and that's all that matters. He's ready to be done.
I feel like low honor Arthur would be more canon to the ultimate RDR1 story. How John never seems to mention him and for the reason that he was just another member of the gang that he switched up on… which depending on your honor is money, or loyalty.
You can find a interaction in the epilogue where he mentions he doesn’t want to talk about him cause it hurts him, although he thinks about Arthur a lot
To me this was the most cannon ending, speaking for my playthrough, Aurther lived a wicked life, and despite the illness he couldn't change his wicked ways, but in the end all he had was his moral code and loyalty to those who mattered most (John, Saide, Abigail, Charles) Going back up that mountain and saying to hell with the money WAS his redemption, So to "win" as he says and go out the same way he lived, by the gun. Made this the most cannon ending. It's supposed to hurt more for a reason.
I prefer this ending for Arthur. Live by the gun and you die by the gun. This death is hardcore and it makes Arthur a bad ass even while he burns in hell
Ever notice that in low honor, the screen faces west when Micah shoots him, but in the high honor, it shows the other side facing east because of the sunrise? Doesn’t make a lot of sense Or it symbolizes Maybe it respresents the past that the gang had out west or that the change of it moving east symbolized arthur being a good man and seeing the way he hoped to go out doing
Rat: Damn you Arthur: *Wheezing laugh* Nah son, *Violent coughs and holds his jacket, making him fall to the ground. Arthur reaches inside his mouth and rubs some.blood inside micah's mouth* Damn...us...both. Micah reaches for his pistol and kills arthur.
When I first played rdr2 I had only ever seen the high honor death on RUclips but when I witnessed the low honor ending during my play through I was damn shocked
I hate to say it but this is the realistic ending. Micah stampering away cursing to himself always felt weird to me. He hates Arthur with a passion, why wouldn't he finish him off?
Ya it was either because he felt somewhat cowardly for only barely being able to kill him while he was sick and weak or because deep inside he actually didn't want to kill Arthur. You can sort've tell with that laugh it sounded really fake and I think it's because that's what Micah wanted to do but he had to fake it to keep up the lie he's telling himself that he's either happy with what he did or that he was glad Arthur was dead and wanted to be amused at his body.
At least with the low honour ending, we can imagine this happening: Micah enters hell Arthur:- Welcome to hell, vermin. Micah:- Black lung... I knew you were no better than me. How long's it been? 8 years? Arthur:- 8 years of waiting for you to come. Now that you're finally here, I can get my revenge. Micah:- Please, both of us remember how things went.. the last time we fought. Arthur:- Things have changed since then. Arthur then throws the first punch against Micah. Micah tries to fight back but Arthur easily overpowers him. Arthur:- Something strange about hell is that it cured me of TB. So "black lung" don't really apply no more. And the last time we fought, I was half dead. But even then, I almost won. We're gonna suffer.. for all of eternity together, rat.
I got this ending my first time playing the game and I felt so guilty that I went back a few saves to get Arthur’s honor high enough to have the good ending
"Whatever you say you fool." Is honestly such a powerful line. Its like Arthur knows a better comeback isnt even worth the effort for trash like Micah. Arthur got what he wanted in the end and both him and Micah know it. And even though you can't really see his face you know damn well Arthur looked straight into Micah's eyes until he pulled the trigger. To not even give a fuck like that in the end is such a statement.
the worst part about this ending was the fact that Micah seemingly gets away after everything he’s done to Arthur and Dutch’s gang; if it wasn’t for the epilogue this’d easily qualify as one of the worst conclusions in a game, ever
Love that end shot where the moon is eclipsed by the mountain side so no light touches the land behind, as the slain Arthur lays to be forgotten by the new day. In that ending, Arthur was a tool that shaped the dark, while the rest of the world has to move on from its wake
This ending makes a bit of sense because in the Good Honor ending the sun rises earlier than expected even though it was only sunset when Arthur confronts Micah, whereas in the Low Honor ending it is still dark when Micah finishes Arthur off for what this ending makes more sense
My first playthrough I went with super high honor and my Arthur died with full honor. Second playthrough I wanted to do the polar opposite but I just couldn't bring myself to. Arthur is too good of a person and he doesn't deserve that kind of ending man.
I got this ending when I played, I only knew about the good honor ending and had no idea this one existed so I got so shocked when he pulled the trigger.
I think they shouldn't have differentiated between low and high honor endings for Arthur. This one should be canon, it makes the epilogue so much better.
Actually prefer this over the high honour death. Fits more thematically IMO, as Micah would never walk away from a fight. If there was a way to mod the game to get this cutscene while doing a high honour playthrough i would do it.

I feel like this is the canon ending tbh. It seems fitting. Considering the whole power struggle between micah and Arthur throughout the whole game
The SunChaser Tbh the whole gang was evil. The characters in the story who were kind of heroic, were the Pinkertons.
@@selectdevotee6810 Not exactly. They were representatives of elite corporate interests and an imperialistic/expansionist government. Their historical namesake would be utilized as strikebreakers to intimidate strikers and sabotage efforts to unionize. This often turned violent.
Nobody was really "good" in this story beyond a few individual people, like Thomas Downes.
@You just lost the game Uh, no. No they weren't. Go look up the history of the Pinkerton Organization if you really don't believe me.
They were a group of militant strikebreakers working on the behest of oil barons and other corrupt, abusive tycoons. Among other nasty things. They beat and killed people for trying to get better working conditions and fair pay.
And the ones in game were on the take of those same barons and tycoons. And of the United States government, which was finalizing it's imperialist takeover of the Americas and the continued defilement of the Native American people.
And the oppression of non-native Americans as well. Again, among other things. Giving the entire breakdown would take too long.

Not even in terms of gameplay or honor, but the pure aesthetic of the shot of the wolf with the lightning strike in the background is simply amazing.
The unique and realistic ending in a western scenario. It turns much more intense the epilogue gameplay after it.
" *..DAMN US BOTH!!* "
Probably one of the most badass ways to go. He had absolutely no fear of dying, only anger.
I like that no matter which route you take, arthur is never pretentious or cowardly. He knows that he has wronged so many and that he deserves no better than any of the gang. Arthur truly is a great character even if hes not a good guy.
I love this ending honestly. I feel like it’s so much more meaningful
Agree, but it's very sad and Arthur looks pathetic, in my opinion. He knew he could be better.
Imagine how Dutch felt after hearing the shot while walking away
This was the ending I got. My honor was just barely below the middle. To me it really symbolized how Arthur wanted to live a good life but his past eventually caught up to him, no matter how much he wanted to be better and run away from it. Beautiful ending in my opinion.

I'm not ashamed to say this was my first ending
Me too
Honestly I think the reason I got this ending was because I rushed through the story and didn’t try to raise my honor by doing out-of-story stuff
To the people who say “why would you be low honor, high honor ending is so much better” the reason low honor is realistic is because it wouldn’t make sense for Micah to leave Arthur lying there and shooting Arthur I’m the face really proved Micah “won” with his hate for Arthur
Honestly that was the saddest death scene I’ve ever witnessed
I've always liked this ending most. It feels like a much more realistic way for an outlaw to go out, but the way Arthur faces his death is what sells it for me. He knows his time is up; he knows he's done all he can do; so now he's ready. He uses his final words to antagonize Micah into shooting him because he simply doesn't care anymore. His work is done, and that's all that matters. He's ready to be done.
Yeah, you see high honour Arthur does care, the high honour ending is best for high honour and the low honour ending is best for low honour Arthur.
I'm the only one here who died my Arthur in low honor, I don't regret it because he died as an outlaw. _Outlaws for life_
2:47 “TENNIS BOAT🎾🛶🔥🔥”
He probably bragged about killing the great Arthur Morgan for years until his own death
R.I.P arthur morgan

Ever notice that in low honor, the screen faces west when Micah shoots him, but in the high honor, it shows the other side facing east because of the sunrise? Doesn’t make a lot of sense

Maybe it respresents the past that the gang had out west or that the change of it moving east symbolized arthur being a good man and seeing the way he hoped to go out doing

That would be THE perfect ending
The ending where morgan isn't the only one who will be dragged into hell
It woulda been so satisfying to see micah shit himself knowing arthur just gave him tb
You can tell Micah had a hard time pulling that trigger I mean listen to that struggle
At least with the low honour ending, we can imagine this happening:
Micah enters hell
Arthur:- Welcome to hell, vermin.
Cant believe this is the same company that made GTA
This shit caught me off guard . I didnt know there was a low honor ending yesterday
This.
And the "Damn us both!" is really nice last words for a low honor Arthur.
the worst part about this ending was the fact that Micah seemingly gets away after everything he’s done to Arthur and Dutch’s gang;
if it wasn’t for the epilogue this’d easily qualify as one of the worst conclusions in a game, ever
Love that end shot where the moon is eclipsed by the mountain side so no light touches the land behind, as the slain Arthur lays to be forgotten by the new day. In that ending, Arthur was a tool that shaped the dark, while the rest of the world has to move on from its wake
Yeah. Not even the moonlight wanted to touch that lonely mountain.
This ending makes a bit of sense because in the Good Honor ending the sun rises earlier than expected even though it was only sunset when Arthur confronts Micah, whereas in the Low Honor ending it is still dark when Micah finishes Arthur off for what this ending makes more sense
"DAM US BOTH" Just epic.
