I'd love to see a RDR3 that takes place in the 1920s. Story could be about Jack trying to escape the life of crime and violence. The 1920s having left the old west behind whilst still having outlaw gangs and stuff like that would be a great metaphor for Jack
I know this gets brought up alot, but I'd like to imagine Jack was drafted into fighting in WW1. Perhaps he was arrested and given the option to either enlist or serve.
Even if Sadie lived she was similar to Jack. With no one and nothing, just bounty hunting out of pure bloodlust.Charles, Tilly, Pearson, Mary-Beth and Trelawny are still alive however. If it sounds cool to you he might have visited them at some point but I doubt he even remembers them cause he was 4 so they were not there for most of his life and probably he couldn't even track them even if he wanted to
Sure, John would've wanted Jack working an honest job and not getting into duels, but he still did it to help who he thought was a desperate woman and only after being challenged into one. Which if anything, shows the decent values John instilled in Jack; not that he turned out to be some terrible criminal the way these titles makes him out to be. And as always, it's important to note that we don't know anything Jack canonically does beyond "Remember My Family" as all these side quests can be done as John too.
Rdr3 should be about Jack in the last few years or year of the wild west, and have him to hunt all of the last notorious outlaws from America. They could most likely add some bs to the game for Jack to have some sort of redemption, or maybe make him help people to receive their redemption.

But despite this he just can't let it go and kills Ross becoming an actual outlaw (now he's gonna be wanted because he was asking around blackwater about Ross and moments later Ross dies). And the fact that in the end not only did he fail to live up to all the lessons from his parents but he's become the very thing they didn't want for him is kinda refreshing.
