I enjoy the pacing and cadence of your instruction. It leaves space for us to process what you're saying, without moving too slowly or sounding, for lack of a better word, condescending. Thanks for that. :)
2:15 get faster without singing louder or heavier, stay light 4:30 how to apply pentatonic scale practice to a melody in a song 4:40 instead of just ending melody at.... you add some more notes below it/extend it on the pentatonic scale 6:35 think of the one tonic scale as building blocks of melody You can use them for short riffs like before but also extend, go up and down, go up and down with doubling or tripling up notes and get creative
Thanks so much for this...I learned more in this brief lesson than I have from my vocal coach in 20 years! Will check out your lesson downloads. This is brilliantly laid out instruction...
I still remember my Skype lesson with you 2 years ago and to this day i regret none of it. My RUclips covers are proof of this. You are a true master ,Saher . My best wishes with you .
I did. When we sing we usually sing like stepping up a staircase. But with that one you need to bring your voice straight down and back up without taking breath. I don’t if that makes sense to you.
I've watched a lot of videos, you're the only one that actually helped me figure out how to insert a riff / discover riffs that fit within my melody. Thanks.
I have a question though it is out of this topic but I cound't find the answer anywhere. so hope u would help me. - I have band, genre alternative rock. we wanna perform a live show in our city. by considering the genre we need to use some electronic sound and beat played through computer or sampler. so how would I do that? what gear I need? and.how would I mach the tempo/bpm of the sound in live performance. please help?????
I've been trying to find a technique that works for me and this is also brilliant. Another vocal coach suggested using vowels first in place of the runs and then stager them in between notes. But this video is very precise on how it's done. So my questions is how long does it take a person to make the runs come together more distinctive? And the other is, I sing alot of rock songs and so should I stop singing them if I want to develop riffs and runs. I can do some but runs but accurately. Thanks for this video.
Can you please tell me how to count notes on a riff like if the riff sound sa-a-a-a-a-a-ad , then how will i count how many notes being used just by hearing ???
This is really helpful! But I can't sing that fast..... Could someone help?? I've been trying and trying for 2 months now but will accidentally make a sharp or flat note on a run, or make a weird slight whisper in my voice....
I can't express my happiness after getting this video cause l was searching run and riffs insanely but could not find a good one so I was depress but you give me a big relief

So cool! I would love a part 2 to this! It would also be cool to analyze some runs that are in songs. So cool! Thanks for the education!

this inspires me to give my voice a try, even if I know I'm a very bad singer ;)
That's awesome. You can do it--just takes practice. You'll be golden in no time.
So what's up??
Aki I didn‘t keep it up, but practiced my instruments instead, that seemed more successful for me :D
