      @@FOXCYBORGNINJA Yea it was also interesting that Para Medic from MGS3 was Dr. Clark who was mentioned in MGS1 who was slaughtered by Gray Fox. But from my understanding EVA or Big Mama set Para medic up to be killed by Gray Fox after his defeat by Solid Snake on Zanzibar Land in Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. For revenge for what they did to Big Boss. Same with Ocelot he was loyal to Big Boss too so he dealt with Sigint the Donald Anderson the DARPA Chief while EVA set up Para medic to be killed by Gray Fox. I’m also kinda iffy about Venom Snake being the Big Boss on Outer Heaven in Metal Gear 1 that was killed by Solid Snake while Naked Snake the real Big Boss was hiding in Zanzibar. I thought Big Boss was a badass surviving Outer Heaven but now we know it was only his phantom Venom Snake.

      Actually Liquid and Solid Snake biological mother is Dr Clark's Japanese assistant. The plan of Les Enfants Terribles was planned when Big Boss got end up in a coma after he almost died on battle in the 70s. That means Snake and Liquid were born in case Big Boss died. Having them born before Big Boss was comatose makes the franchise inconsistent.

      Liquid is learning about foxdie. This is why he informs Snake and colonel about Naomy's falsely constructed past. Liquid was alerted that Naomy altered foxdie last minute by one of his own spies. Snake's control group arrests Naomy because they found out she contacted greyfox to give him Snake's frequency. Possibly they then also notice she changed foxdie probably to save Snake and maybe greyfox. Btw Naomi isn't really a spy for the Patriots she is working for them directly the Patriots control foxhound (both sides)

    It isn't really a reference. They simply continued the story and based it on this. They developed this someone into a character. Naomy being a spy has nothing to do with it. She is not really a spy but Liquid wants to know about foxdie and casts suspicion on her in order to dig. Which works because she has done things on her own to potentially undermine the mission. 1. It must have been her that gave Snake's frequency to grey fox. that's why they say she send coded messages to the base. 2.More than likely her altering foxdie like Liquid tells snake is to make so it no longer kills snake. This is never confirmed 100% but it looks like she gave up on hating him before the mission even began.

    This also holds true for the Twin Snakes remake. Whether Meryl lives or dies, in the final phone call with Ocelot he says "What should we do about the woman" which only is said in the PS1 original if Meryl lives. This change I noticed right away and stuck with me for a while leading up to the release of Snake Eater

      The Patriots are simply the government. She is working for the government directly. How can you work for an organization and be a spy of that organization. It doesn't make sense. the only distinction is that she had access to more classified information and involved with more plots than was previously believed. But it isn't exactly a secret or surprise that she is involved because she is the leader of the same project that created the Snakes and made Greyfox what he is here. Although that was her predecessor it wasn't her doing.

Just goes to show you how much of the story and characters were on Kojima's mind throughout pre/post production, development, and beyond! I wouldn't be surprised if most of these characters from Solid 3 and 4 were conceptualized as far back as Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake. Kojima is one of those Japanese auteurs who is clueless about women, is not afraid to ham it up, and is a complexity addict. For all of the flaws of his work, you have to admire his consistency and voice. He and Yoko Taro have produced at-times embarrassing but singular stories that no one else would even dare to try. There's brilliance there marred by an elusive something that has warped their views, but we'd all be poorer off without them.

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 8 месяцев назад +1

      Is Kojima truly "clueless about women" thought? He himself has given interviews where he stated the portrayal of Rose (Jack's fiancee) was heavily inspired on his personal experiences with women he dated. It's funny seeing the most disliked female character in Metal Gear been the one most inspired by real women in the real world.

    • @mrsrobophile
      @mrsrobophile 8 месяцев назад

      Perhaps it's more that he has some immature and strange portrayals of them. I'm a woman and I have never felt I could relate to his quarter-boob showing tragic femme fatales because they aren't terribly realistic. I don't think I'm supposed to, but it gives the impression of a guy who struggles with writing women AS women. I'd argue Rose is the least guilty of these tropes and that's probably WHY people hate her. She IS more like a real, human being woman.
      The men don't fare much better, of course, but the male characters tend to not be run through the erotic assassin filter. If anything, most of the Snakes' foes, when male, are deformed, hideous, or old with a few notable exceptions (and those tend to have homoerotic qualities which I don't even know how to interpret that).
      Unlike most of my "sisters" I will not say Kojima is sexist. It's more like there's a disconnect when he goes to write or create a female character. It's like he stops at "sexy and tragic" and that's all he knows. But, it's a franchise largely aimed at men, so that's fine. I just find it kind of worthy of a groan and an eye-roll, but I can't turn my eyes away from his overall bizarre worlds.
      Kojima is like a roleplayer who tries to write a female character, whereas Taro....well, he's an older teenager trying to shock people with his CRAZY MESSED UP ideas.
      But they have their place in gaming. There's genius lurking throughout, but the taste is definitely acquired.

    • @javiervasquez625
      @javiervasquez625 8 месяцев назад

      @@mrsrobophile Do take note i never said _all_ of his female characters are realistic but simply that Rose is realistic giving Kojima at least some semblance of understanding of real women from the real world if only through the one game. Wether he has the tendency to write over the top femme fatales with non relatable and unrealistic backstories that does not mean he's not capable of writing realistic women as proven with the aforementioned Rose and, to an extent, some of the women in Death Stranding.
      Yoko Taro is just Yoko Taro so like Kojima i wouldn't say he's the guy you want to go for if you're looking for realistic portrayals of women in japanese pop culture.
