- The David Goggins 4x4x48 challenge! This one is no joke and for the people that don't know who David Goggins is, I recommend looking him up. He is a former Navy Seal, Army Ranger, ultra marathon runner, and record holder for most pull ups in 24 hours. His resume is far more impressive than what I can write in this description so take a look for yourself. Goggins is someone I look to for motivation and encouragement whenever I am down and out. I hope you enjoy seeing me go through this grueling workout over a 48 hour period.
Rules:
Run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours, which equals 48 miles in 48 hours. If you can't run, you can walk, bike or ruck. You can even substitute the cardio with pushups or pullups if you need to.
Personal Goal:
My goal was to complete each of my runs in under 40 mins, which is a sub 10 minute pace.
This is one of the toughest challenges that I have been a part of, but I must admit I enjoyed the journey of going through it. You will learn so much about yourself in a short period of time. The positive self talk that you're able to give yourself is a powerful thing. Your mind is much stronger than your body and it will push you past breaking points you never imagined to take. I am looking forward to doing this again next year!
60 years old and 6 down 6 more runs to go in central NY snow and 20-25 degree weather.
Folks who don't make content have no idea how much harder this is recording everything. Nice work! No excuses! Nobody cares! Train harder! Peace, brother.
Great job two weeks out from my own 4x4x48 and as part of my prep watching these posted videos which really helps so appreciate you posting ... nice support from your buddies as well .. stay hard
What a great achievement mate. Good on you for sticking to it right through. This is not only a great personal feat, but something you can call on in the future with anything standing in your way in life 👊🙏👌
Love your community of runners, nice support system. Congrats, I'm prepping the 55 and older group next weekend's challenge.
I've been watching a lot of your new content and had no idea you did this challenge. Fast forward 2 years later where I'm doing the challenge now and 5 legs in, seeing your video now is definitely giving me some extra motivation in the tank.
Good stuff man, I did this earlier in the year. Run 8-10 were the hardest IMO. I found this was harder than running a full marathon
Awesome stuff, Matt! Love it! Keep it going.
Respect for your hard work and not giving up.
Just finished this. Great video- captured the feeling!
I like that you rec yourself during the run, instead of just talking about the whole thing.
You beast 👊🏻 good job!
Congratulations brother!! That was hard af
I did the challenge this weekend and your log of your attempt was very useful... Didn't have a goal perse, but liked your goal of sub 10min/mile for each session and followed it... Thanks Dude...!!!

So beautiful:,)
After watching this I need to try it. Have to let the wife and kids know I need 48 hours to myself Jajaj
how was your level at that moment bro? I am a pretty average runner rarely going beyond 10 km but running 2-3 times per week, I am trying to figure out if it is possible with just two months of preparation
Do you take any preworkout or caffeine?
i cant run 2 miles without being winded… maybe next year after I get my wind up
Is this guy David Goggins? or just another wannabe
He’s just having fun challenging himself. Miserable
