The fact no one was in that building when the plane hit it is the most amazing stroke of luck ever in a situation like that

Lol your so right
I'm a retired USAF maintenance guy. I can usually tell when a plane stalls from a weight and balance problem, and I always know when the pitot-static ports are taped up. Some, however, perplex me. That's why I watch these.
Wow nice comment.

This southwest crew did an amazing emergency landing at Philadelphia poor Jennifer. 😞 Props to captain Shultz and her first officer!
You know when people start screaming it kind of has a calming effect on everyone else trying to take evasive action. That screaming really helps.
The Execuflight one angered me the most because the company knew that those two pilots had been fired from previous employers, but they hired them anyway.
I wrote a whole essay about it and yea this accident was unfortunate
Sometimes I just can’t understand how the pilots get themselves in such situations. Follow the bloody charts; one pilot flies, one cross checks altitude, waypoints, and speed of the airplane with the chart; and you shouldn’t hit any power lines.

The camera man must be the only one alive in all the plane crashes
I think it’s true!
It's just a a scene of how they think it will be according to the voice recorder and data recorder and witnesses if there was any alive
Yeah, camera man's sure always will be the sole survivors.
This would be better if they included WHY the planes crashed….
There still being investigated
@@daljeetghotra5473 Not true. Some of these are years old and they are, as far as I am aware, resolved. Take for example the TWA flight. I believe that this was a fuel tank explosion due to faulty wiring but would have to double-check that. Probably best to make note of the flight and then go onto The Flight Channel or similar for an in-depth summary.
@@RonSeymour1 wow, that is true
They do have full episodes, it's just that you'll need to pay for the subscription. Only the hook is free. Agree with Ron, I normally watch the videos uploaded by The Flight Channel, the only downside is you will need to read, because there isn't an audio narration. But the channel normally gives accurate in-depth analysis of the accidents.
There is one yt channel that makes some sort-of video like this, but they use text instead of narrator, and using animation/simulator. Like TheFlightChannel

The crash of Delta Air 1141 is NOT unsolved as the video states. It was determined that the crew failed to deploy the aircraft flaps and slats before takeoff. Also, they determined from the voice recordings that there was a non-sterile environment in the cockpit before takeoff, with extensive conversations between the pilots and the cabin crew on subjects unrelated to the flight. They even get wrong what type of aircraft departed in front of the Delta flight.
Holy moly
Correct the Aviation channel guy had all the details.

These are interesting . . . but I've watched the Flight Channel too much, because I am left breathless when the crash is described--and they immediately start talking about another aircraft--without describing WHY any of these disasters occurred. I'm left hanging . . . each time!
They have full episodes on hulu but I'm not sure about other platforms.
Yes these are annoying in that way.
the voice over these videos is so addictive and makes more interesting i love the voice and excellent videos from this channel
Probably shouldn't be watching this right before my flight...
😮
1:04 I like how everything is calm he's like thank you peacefully then BOOM panic
It's good to see these videos I know it's not a great feeling because people's life's are involved but we learn alot from aviation crashes. Especially these are sophistcated well built aircrafts so we do tend to trust that everyone is experienced with their knowdge and skills and nothing should go wrong. Even as a general public we need to be aware of this situations.

As an aircraft hydraulic tech. In the USAF, I saw the military aircraft had the landing gear pinned, the pitostatic tube covered and fuses reversed on certain systems, and red streamers hanging from them, as a precaution, that they should be removed prior to flight.
I have to wonder if the same precautions are used in civilian maintenance.
Anti - icing can be turned off on the pitostatic system, with disastrous results in bad weather, if it is left off!
I am addicted to Air Disasters show on Smithsonian it is so interesting!
damn credits tk the pilots on South West 1380 Even though one of the engines was blown snd exposed they still managed to control the plane AND had a bumpy but incredible landing!

We’re out of Coffee “emergency”
Thanks for incredible insight Greg.
That's not what he said, cupcake.
There are different levels of emergencies, some more manageable than others. Pilots saying "mayday" or "emergency" (versus "pan pan") lets ATC know it's extremely urgent and should be given highest priority and attention.
Fantastic history 👏 keeping showing great 👍 video like this God bless everyone watching this documentary

the fact that they had like 20 seconds to understand whats happening on the twa flight is terrifying to think about
I was a passenger on many planes and many airlines, American, Pan Am, United, FinAir, (or Finnair), Hawaiian, Aloha, LOT and few others and was never afraid of flying, now watching these videos I realized how many crashes happened in history of aviation and now feel a little uneasy... don't fly so much anymore and maybe it's a good thing. Once on FinAir had a close call when we turned around after an hour and landed back in SFO after dumping fuel, seeing all the fire trucks waiting for us gave me a feeling of doom but we landed smoothly, pilot got a huge ovation.
That's probably a testament to this method of travel. They say it's the safest way to do it. But I feel you on the fear of flying thing.
@@Smasho8000 Thanks. When I was flying it was safer I think, less terrorism and less corner cutting, I was never afraid, only that one incident was a cold shower but we made it, now it's more scary for many reasons.
You just have to be lucky. Don’t go on days that are events of near events. Like go in October
Or just not unlucky keyboard
The engines are very reliable though, at least chance of crashing due to something related to engine is unbelievable rare, one in a billion

I believe it was August, 16 1987 when a Northwest plane crashed upon takeoff from Detroit Metropolitan airport. It ended up on the nearby highway killing everyone except a infant still strapped in her car seat.
Now that should be a number one miracle. How was this overlooked?
Yeah I heard about that
Yes. Truly a miracle.
Cecilia Cichon (?) was the little girl.
TWA Flight 800 proved that heat can be a factor.
Love Smithsonian little teasers aswell
Lol the subtitles are hilarious 😆
They aren't even the same things the narrator and the people are talking about! They are random!
Only the pilots get credit because they landed the plane safely on the ground but i think cabin crews should get credit too cuz they looked after the safety of the passengers.
so happy all the planes ive ever been on have landed with no problems
When I was 12, I remember our plane landed and fire engines rushed up to it. We were totally nonplussed as we were not aware of a problem during the flight. I wonder how many problems do occur that we are unaware of.
I was on a Virgin Atlantic flight four years ago, and as we were flying for about an hour the plane hit some bad turbulence and violently dropped suddenly, with people screaming. I felt like my heart jumped into my throat. The pilot sounded nervous, and told the air hostesses to sit in their seats. Thankfully nothing much happened after that. But I was on edge for the rest of the flight.
The third one reminds me of the Tenerife Airport disaster
I was on all of these flights but luckily I survived and got all of you all these photos
I was really excited for the galloping ghost until I realized I was watching a plane crash video
Ok.
@@dannyrichards6233 r u good?
I'm watching this after getting off my flight. 😂 I love flying and have flown many times since the age of 15. Still my preferred method of travel.
I love how this veteran navy pilot works hard to save the plane and the passengers, and when she lands, she says “thank you lord” instead of thanking herself for saving the plane.🤦♂️
Great stuff
0:55 When ATC gives you instructions, you don't say "copy that," you read back the instructions they gave you. I'm not even a pilot and I know that.
I must state with crystal clarity that your videos, both dramatized and factual, have validated why I refuse to get on an airplane for any, I mean ANY reason! I avoid riding in vehicles except for the ones l reluctantly have to due to health issues.
You are 10x more likely to choke on your own saliva than to die in an aircraft crash

Really good video but please add why the planes crashed next time
15:57 the plane crash feels like my problem in infinite flight when before take off my 737 hard lefts and veers off the runway but I manage to make it to take off the ground before I hit the airport (also I set the weather to high crosswind winds but I think that's the problem, the winds)
I sometimes set all my weather settings to max and see how long I can control the plane before inevitably crashes just for fun

Flight 1380 was the one with the passenger who got sucked out of the airplane, right? I thought that was reason why it was infamous, not the successful landing, and they didn't even mention her...
