Beautiful. I said the badges were too big for the rear... but the comments said... oohhhhh noooo they are not... well, Im glad you also mentioned it as you are a more credible 'Scale Nerd' than me, so thanks for backing me up 😇
The earlier FJ40 had the upper hatch with the small split doors below. Newer ones had the full split rear doors and upgraded rear lights. This FMS missed a few things, the windshield "catches" on the hood are missing, the antenna is in the foot vent, and the rear side marker lights should be red. I had a brand new FJ40 in 1978... absolutely loved it!
I did a mazda rz7 body on my first custom drift body....back fire...exposed inner cooler..roll bars..wing..all that.... When you go to superg and look at their body selection...it's insane at the possibility and potential for customizations....unlimited...
When you get to episode 69 you’ll have to be working on the sand scorcher and Capra for sure! And try not to do too many innuendos along with it…😂 and that Land Cruiser is pretty cool too! I’ve got an old proline bushwacker body (before they got the license if you don’t know, it’s pretty sweet!) on an scx10 i cobbled together, complete with a chassis from an scx10 that had been run over by a 1:1, i call it my salvage title truck! 😂😂
Love that you are enjoying the FJ. You will love it on leaf springs. Single leaf front and main and long in the rear worked out great for me. The shocks don’t hold oil btw.
I love the fms fj40. The 1 thing I was disappointed about was the holes in the roof when you remove the roof rack. Hopefully knight customs gets ahold of this and makes some inner fenders for this and other parts, lol.
I personally reckon adding some leaf springs and 80mm shocks and maybe some 1.9 Goodyear duratrax in 96mm in diameter will give it a nice ultra scale look to the old girl😊😊
- I have no idea what new body you will select, but if I got into drifting, besides my Gmade (GS02F) and Axial SCX10 II crawling addiction, I would drift with a Datsun 510 2-Door, from the old... ... (HPI) "Cup Racer" RTR, but I'm not sure that HPI will bring this one "back". 🤔...!!??? ...But it would be stellar if they did !!!! 😀🤞 - I do like FMS's new FJ40, looks pretty darn good !!! Although, I can never get passed the difference of the box-y & flat back-end, 😖 ...where the front looks asthetically pleasing !!! 👍
{Prob... / No Prob. !? 🤔} (1:54) ...Maybe the "not-so-strong" magnets are intentional to allow for the "sah-weet" body/s to "give" upon even light- impact, so the fragile components, like your resin-wing/spoiler, has a better chance of not getting broke or "totalled". "💡" - For a crawler, or trailtruck, I would definetly want/need stronger magnets, but of course, ultimately this depends upon application, as we all know, by experience !! 😉...👌✌️Very nice car !!!!
Legitimately interested in your other hobbies, or whatever else is on the floor lol. I collect Transformers/Diaclone robots, and breed a few types of freshwater fish. Hope you had a good break, and GO GO MCLAREN TEAM!!

I do hope the drift car body is not going to be a 1964 split flat windscreen VW. Although the solid chassis in that years VW might be suitable for drifting use your better judgment to build a more period appropriate vehicle. Enjoy the holiday and take time off from UT if that’s what you need to relax?
I had said it before if FMS starts coming out with 1/10 scale RC’s all the other companies better take notice. How they pack all those features in at that price is unbelievable. So now that we all see this it’s like ok are the other companies ripping us off? 🤷🏻♂️
Glad to see the window rubber painted on the FJ! Makes a huge difference. I put the leafs from my spare Jimny on mine. I like it much better. Just need to sort some shocks (sans springs). They will have to be fairly short... I also plan on printing some rubber bumpers for the bumpers (say bumper one more time...) 😁.
I was looking at putting a 2 in 1 motor esc. I might have eyeballed it incorrectly, but there may be clearance issues. Also, as far as the functioning louvers go, a WPL has had them. I don’t recall how long it’s been.
Reve d rdx chassis is amazing. Just built my first one a couple of days ago and it is like a cheat code compared to my other chassis. Build a Lancia Delta body for your next body. I really like the squared out look for a drift missile build.
☝️...Anyone ever consider starting-out with a "beater- drift car".....!!?? ...Nahhh !!! - Mr. Matt... you "are kinda crazy"... ...but we still ❤️ yuh !! ✌️ - Who drifts their squeaky- clean porsche, as a new "drifting driver"...!!??? 🤔 ..."Matt", that's who !!! 🤯 I hope you have insurance for that fabulous over-glorified Volkswagon !!!? 🤨... 🙈 - That is "way cool" of the guys there, to "stay-clear" of your shiny cream-puff !!! 👌👏 I love the videos, as always, - Thankyou !!!! 👍
I absolutely love that Porsche! Also, that FJ40 is so fricken awesome! (I think your tires are on backwards though. 🤔) I'd love to get my hands one either of those rigs...or better yet, BOTH! 😂😂😂
I have the FMS FJ40 as well and I've been looking all over for those CC Hand (closer to the right size) Emblems. Can't seem to find them anymore. Thoughts?
@scalebuilder'sguild - do you have a video how to work the controller for the fj40? im new to 1/10 scale and thats alot of buttons, and the manual isnt too clear.
Matt, nice pre-review of the FJ! Could you let us know where to find that mesh? My LHSs don't carry much of it, and I'm always afraid to buy that stuff sight unseen, fearing I'll get the wrong scale. Have a wonderful vacation!
I am so happy you bought the FMS FJ40! I bought one right when they were announced, ripped all the electronics out, and ordered the leaf spring kit. I love that RC4WD tire on there so much I just ordered a set as well. Any suggestions on wheels that are more period correct? I was thinking at taking my first crack at weathering on this truck as well. Will you be using the same method you used on the Landrover? Or the oilbrushers?
They really did hit it out of the park with this one! That mustard color is masterful. Really capable rigs I hear as well. Man, you and Gabe From RUclips channel ; “Make stuff Better “ could be bros Dude. Great overview my friend!👍🏻😎
My dad had a '77 Land Cruiser, it had barn doors, pretty sure that wasn't exclusive to Japan, living in Southern California, same place he bought it from. I had to get this one when i saw it, i got the blue one, same colors as dad's '77. The only thing that bummed me out was the back end having the short doors and hatch, especially since it's always popping open! Lol
I've never owned a FMS product are they any good with basic driving around, fun? I am normally use to traxxas. And I'd like to try out other brands, thanks!
You are so dang adorable! Love your content, personality, sense of humor, face, skills and taste! Now I gotta try to find your IG to creep some vaca pics. Hope you enjoy the time off. Cheers.
I'm still trying to figure out who authorized you to leave this room, this person should be taken out back and instructed proper procedures for RUclipsr's lives.
Redcat Monte Carlo body for the drift missile. Even print up a little LS motor with some eBay turbos. Also, are you a big hot wheels collector, and if so, how many do you have?
Somebody needs to tell your sound guy to stop 🛑 photobombing the video with the microphone 🎤 lol 😆 nonetheless always enjoy your attention to the scale details and informative content. Keep up the great work 😊
I have waaaaaay tooo many Hot wheels and Matchbox cars. The FMS FJ-40 is awesome. Upgrades: RAW 500 servo, big bore shocks 65mm, Mytrickrc headlights, tail lights, 2 light bars and flood lights. New wheels, new receiver and tons of 3d printed 1/6 (1/7) scale accessories. Headlight bulb removal takes a lighter, a scraper, a drill for 5mm bulbs and bulb backing to screw them in.
Excellent. Especially like the bit about the new Landcruiser. The FJ from that era is my favourite too, as anyone who's been to my channel will tell you. Lots of nice details on the FMS to break off and leave as offerings to the trail gods. We need more of that.
“What’s on the floor…Episode 1.” 😂
I actually want to see this episode, Even if it's just a pilot episode!
Beautiful.
I said the badges were too big for the rear... but the comments said... oohhhhh noooo they are not... well, Im glad you also mentioned it as you are a more credible 'Scale Nerd' than me, so thanks for backing me up 😇
A simple look at the back of any real one would silence the critics! You were right!
The earlier FJ40 had the upper hatch with the small split doors below. Newer ones had the full split rear doors and upgraded rear lights. This FMS missed a few things, the windshield "catches" on the hood are missing, the antenna is in the foot vent, and the rear side marker lights should be red. FMS going to be big players in the not to distant future
80's Volvo 242 for drift... there wouldn't be many, and you could put a crystal shift knob in it, too.
I wanted the FMS FJ40 until I found out how big it is. Im not sure I can buy an FJ that is larger than my Defender, C-10 and Sierra 3500.
Fair enough! Thanks for watching!
Drift missile yes! It better be Volvo 240 like in the picture then! Aplastics makes one ;)
Wifi on the plane? How'd you get so rich 😅 FMS just keeps getting better and better. Enjoy the vaykay dude
Didn't spring for the wifi on the plane, but all of the hotels and Airbnbs had it, so I edited there!
@@scalebuildersguild 😅👍

Volvo wagon drift missile

Not expecting those details at $350, the best value scale RTR for what its worth
The FJ40 looks amazing , now to talk my wife into letting me have one. Have a great holiday !!
Good luck convincing her. We had a fantastic time in Ireland... just got back yesterday and answering comments!
I love the fms fj40. The 1 thing I was disappointed about was the holes in the roof when you remove the roof rack. Hopefully knight customs gets ahold of this and makes some inner fenders for this and other parts, lol.
@scalebuildersguild A plastics makes Volvo drift bodies.....
Drift body...volkswagen Bug...just because I haven't seen one done for a drift car...plus is like the cousin to the Porsche...lol
Drift body idea: 240sx with rocket bunny muscle car body kit
I personally reckon adding some leaf springs and 80mm shocks and maybe some 1.9 Goodyear duratrax in 96mm in diameter will give it a nice ultra scale look to the old girl😊😊
You should build a Nissan Skyline Hakosuka GTR for your drift body...

Matt have a safe and enjoyable trip, I just might have to check into rehab for SBG withdrawal symptoms

new body Volvo perhaps I'm getting a 745 for my drifter
As a Volvo 240 owner I’m hoping for 240 for the new body
Oh yeah, please do a 240 drift body!!
Or a Datsun 510 wagon!
Heck ya Drifting....A super built
I do hope the drift car body is not going to be a 1964 split flat windscreen VW. Congratulations on your 60 show!
Always a great inspiration und fun time watching your updates on your channel!🎉
Thanks so much!

For the new drift body, I'm guessing Volvo 850R (or T5)

Very cool!
New body: Volvo 240
Yes fms should have put leaf springs on the fj and mashigan from factory due to weight.
FMS should make a cucv m1009 with that amount of detail 👌
Porsche needs more low, but looks good. Wanna get the Land Cruiser and put AR60s under it.
I was looking at putting a 2 in 1 motor esc. I might have eyeballed it incorrectly, but there may be clearance issues. Also, as far as the functioning louvers go, a WPL has had them. I don’t recall how long it’s been.
Toyota Chaser? I know you would love a big square Japanese body to thrash
I'm thinking about getting one of those FJ40's and I'd definitely want to do the leaf spring conversion so I hope more content for it is on the way! 🤓
Hi I have a new build for ya how about a shopps,y hotdog car that would be cool have fun G.Whyte
Drift missle… got to go with a jzx100 or some other Toyota chaser. One of the most common missle cars in Japan!
Reve d rdx chassis is amazing. Just built my first one a couple of days ago and it is like a cheat code compared to my other chassis. Build a Lancia Delta body for your next body. I really like the squared out look for a drift missile build.
The new drift body will be a Volvo 940 gl wagon and you can’t change my mind
you should get an Aplastics Volvo 242 body
🤣 Missed that Flying Cars joke the first time time I watched this.
There's no such thing as "too many Hotwheels" js. ;)
Volvo 240
Enjoy your vacation!
And it better be a Volvo wagon body!
Next body will be a Nissan Hako....or at least it should be.
New body for the drift car: Volvo 240!
VOLVO drift build coming up!!!😮
I'm not the only one not to want to use bodies on which I spent a lot of time 😂
Have good time during your vacation.
The new body is going to be a
Datsun 510..👌🏻😎
BTCC 850 estate wagon drifter?
Drift HooniVAN or drift truck would be cool.
4:30 the new body will be a B13 Nissan Sentra.
I’m guessing a Nissan gtr but the first one like he got in hotwheels
Try adding some velcro to the magnets
pandora ae86 with the inner fender set or the s13
Volvo 240 drift missile please lol.
New body Datsun 510.
Just be on vacation, FFS! lol
Maybe a old Volvo drift missile?
☝️...Anyone ever consider starting-out with a "beater- drift car".....!!?? ...Nahhh !!!
- Mr. Matt... you "are kinda crazy"...
...but we still ❤️ yuh !! ✌️
- Who drifts their squeaky- clean porsche, as a new "drifting driver"...!!??? 🤔
..."Matt", that's who !!! 🤯 I hope you have insurance for that fabulous over-glorified Volkswagon !!!? 🤨... 🙈
- That is "way cool" of the guys there, to "stay-clear" of your shiny cream-puff !!!
👌👏 I love the videos, as always, - Thankyou !!!! 👍
I know, I can't help myself, but as you know I love to build!
Wait
Who said you could leave the room
Aplastics Volvo 240!?
I absolutely love that Porsche! Also, that FJ40 is so fricken awesome! (I think your tires are on backwards though. 🤔) I'd love to get my hands one either of those rigs...or better yet, BOTH! 😂😂😂
MT/R's are asymetrical by design. One side will always look weird.
Received my stickers today thanks🏴
Thanks for your support!
lol 10,001 hrs watch out punks
Some times it feels like you live at that desk
cant wait to see the weathering on the fj!
I have the FMS FJ40 as well and I've been looking all over for those CC Hand (closer to the right size) Emblems. Can't seem to find them anymore. Thoughts?
Hmm, try Aliexpress!
@scalebuilder'sguild - do you have a video how to work the controller for the fj40? im new to 1/10 scale and thats alot of buttons, and the manual isnt too clear.
I'm sorry I don't, what precisely are you having trouble with? There's not much to fiddle with outside of the throttle and steering.
Matt, nice pre-review of the FJ! Could you let us know where to find that mesh? My LHSs don't carry much of it, and I'm always afraid to buy that stuff sight unseen, fearing I'll get the wrong scale.
Have a wonderful vacation!
It's made by a hobby company called K&S. Should be in the metal section of most hobby shops! Good luck!
I haven’t decided yet, still a few things to do first. Might just airbrush this one. Thanks for watching and good luck with the build!
They really did hit it out of the park with this one! That mustard color is masterful. Really capable rigs I hear as well. Man, you and Gabe From RUclips channel ; “Make stuff Better “ could be bros Dude. Great overview my friend!👍🏻😎
I cant wait for more fj40 content!
Please do a leaf spring conversion video on the fms fj40. And weathering video.. and Running Video.
Check, and mate!
My dad had a '77 Land Cruiser, it had barn doors, pretty sure that wasn't exclusive to Japan, living in Southern California, same place he bought it from.

My guess is a Volvo 😊 240 or 740😅
I've never owned a FMS product are they any good with basic driving around, fun? I am normally use to traxxas. And I'd like to try out other brands, thanks!
Yes they are. It's not as premium of an experience, but some simple and cheap upgrades they can be made quite good. The main focus is scale trail.
You are so dang adorable! Love your content, personality, sense of humor, face, skills and taste! Now I gotta try to find your IG to creep some vaca pics. Hope you enjoy the time off. Cheers.
Thank you! We’re having a great time!
If you don’t make a Suga drift middle a thing, I’ll have to start watching WNL through Josh’s feed 😅
😂
I'm still trying to figure out who authorized you to leave this room, this person should be taken out back and instructed proper procedures for RUclipsr's lives.
😂
next week can be "What's on the bar"
Redcat Monte Carlo body for the drift missile. Even print up a little LS motor with some eBay turbos. Also, are you a big hot wheels collector, and if so, how many do you have?
I'm not a big hot wheels collector, really just started getting into it in the last 6 months!
I hope you have a great vacation!
Of course...... it was a Volvo.
Somebody needs to tell your sound guy to stop 🛑 photobombing the video with the microphone 🎤 lol 😆 nonetheless always enjoy your attention to the scale details and informative content. Keep up the great work 😊
Sound guy? Ha!
i guess its gonna be a volvo-wagon.
You love hot wheels dont lie LOL

Safe travels Matt. Hey one question, what airline are ya flying? Cheers!!!
Air Canada, eh!
Looks awesome !! Do you know if the leaf spring kit will fit the Willys 1/6 ?
If it’s the same chassis as the Mashigan, then yes.
I’d say that pic was a Volvo
New body will prolly be a Volvo
Can you do a video on bobbing and dovetailing a crawler body like you funhaver
Funhaver is a lexan body and I didn't change anything on it. If you want a demo on styrene, watch my first road to the scale nationals.
