That Tomley's such a trouble maker... Volvo project is awesome, love all the details. They used to be pretty common in the UK, but sadly like all the cool stuff they are almost extinct now. I used to a have a 940 'Wentworth' Estate (2.0 Turbo). Came in handy when my ex wife locked me out the house and threw all my belongings out the window. I got it all in with room for me to sleep in the back at full stretch haha. She was Crazy! (The ex wife, not the Volvo!)
That is a small workshop, but some amazing things come out of it. Chevy did have a V8 diesel back then, it was not very powerful or reliable, so maybe the Canadian army was smart to go with a normal small block engine.
I feel like I just entered Doctor Who's Tardis with that song "it's a whole new world" playing in the background! And as usual, everything on the bench looks amazing!
You outdid yourself on the busted radiator. My wife walked thru the room and said “thats’s a busted radiator” when she saw the video playing on the TV.
I really like the look of the Samurai - it's so late 80's/early 90's goodness (esp. with the yellow orange wavy decal). The details you added are so right
Credit where credit is due: Matt's ability to turn a tiny workspace into such a vast universe of positivity, experience and community interaction is uncanny. His mellow attitude and film wizardry bring that workspace to a level that feels right at home, it feels like getting an in person update...WEEKLY!
yeah yeah yeah. Jimnymania! Looks like my bench, except Im in franken build land with wpl and mst jimnys. People are saying the wpl jimny is spot on to 1:10 scale. Kinda feel like I need a whole collection of jimny/samurai/sidekicks... tws, element, mst, wpl... some homebrew lj20 with a printed body?!
Love your dungeon! Jealous of it. Exactly the kind of hobby room I would like to have, which is hard to realize in a two room apartment in the city. Well well, one day perhaps.
I can understand that growing up all I wanted was a shop to work out of now I have one and it just stores more stuff nice to have but not a necessity in your case I think you do amazing work with the space you have some people have to build off the kitchen table or an un-air conditioned garage .
That's definitely really really cool what you done with the radiator I'm really glad I found you through Josh LOL I definitely feel like I got the better part of the deal
My 82 gmc 2500 was a dark blue interior and truck was painted highway safety orange by an asphalt comp with dark bench seat. No red. It rattled and shook but it was fun to drive.
That’s a really cool idea with the radiator on the Volvo, I’d try using the inner fenders from rc4wd for the k10 on the cucv and they’ll work with the engine bay too.
In AZ, go to Pinnacle Peak mtn, a great hike, amazing view, and great scenery for redcat photos. If that steaming rc radiator doesn’t get you laid I don’t know what will
I'm not saying that a small space, but I'd have to go outside to change my mind.. 😁 The diesels were actually v8's converted from gas to diesel. Turds.
I think my space is even smaller than your space , you just have way more things going on in yours! 😝 All your projects are looking great ! Just love that Volvo and it’s gimmick and that bushido really caught my attention! Gr eat work on it !
@@scalebuildersguild Fair enough. I know I've been instructed to try and keep the front / rear weight balance around 35/65 to 40/60 and I was curious if that would bring too much weight forward. I know I used to struggle a lot more to drift with a 20/80 balance and had to move battery and ESC weight forward more.
Like many others, I too enjoy the view behind the curtain. I enjoy seeing other people’s work spaces. I like the steaming radiator mod. How long does it run for?
@@scalebuildersguild Nice,.. there's also Meteor Crater near-ish and I can't remember how far away the petrified forest is, back on the east coast now taking care of family, but spent a bit of time traveling back and forth from socal to that area .. my favorite route came up through the black canyon, cool cliff dwellings but watch out, the sand is soft as there and there's also deep dropoffs in the twisties.
I'm liking the new style your doing. Sharing the cave hahaha. It may not be much... but its where you create so much awesome stuff. Love that cucv. I agree with the inner fenders. Engine bay looks so good. That bushito... looks great, and I do think the mini proper sized one needs to be scaled out. Maybe a hard body Suzuki or Geo Tracker haha. I guy I know built the Cheech and Chong van and used those same paper thingys. Because.... well... Cheech and Chong. Haha. The drift car is so good. You nailed that drift missile style.
Thanks for the behind the scenes! Incredible the show you create in that tiny space. Loved the updates on the projects. 👍 Not sure I totally understood how the vapor thing works, it has to be submerged in water?
So disappointed in the ascent 1/18! Said I wasn’t gonna mess with those tiny screws ever again! And here I am….its just soooooo top heavy! And FYI tho, my scx24 bodies fit it perfect!
If you are trying to keep 100% stock looking on the CUCV truck, you need to removed the distributor from the motor. That truck would have had a diesel engine. So, there is no distributor. Diesel engines fire from compression not a spark. Just trying to help.
I've seen elevators bigger than that LOL come think of it I've been in bigger phone booths lol how did you even managed to fit all those Traxxas trucks in there that one time 😆😂 lol joking aside thanks for sharing your shop . I didn't think it was that small when you said it was small LOL
I'm just getting back into rcs after about 6 years away (I'm 21) wanting to build a scale but semi capable truck I'm wanting a long wheelbase to do a 4 door 90s chevy what would you suggest scx10, trx4, gen 8 I'm thinking a trx 4 hightrail what do you think I'm not trying to break the bank but I want the most out of the truck. I'll likely buy second hand what should i go with
Added the vaporizer description from Amazon for you!
That Tomley's such a trouble maker...

Hang in there. Did you keep the rcs.
I guess she's an ex for a reason!
That blown/overheating radiator look would be perfect for a Jeep Cherokee scale build
All the years of you saying your shop was small, you weren't kidding. Just goes to show that great things can happen in small spaces.
Best on youtube
Thanks!
Thank you!
The broken radiator is SO COOL!
Thanks for sharing. Always wondered what the trip down there looked like
It's awesome seeing what you do in that size of a workshop.
Thanks!
I like your little cave 👍 kinda like a secret club house 😊
Agreed!
Matt that “busted radiator” is the best!!! You are correct to be chuffed!!! AWESOME!! 👍
Thanks!
Damn... that is a small workshop! Wow... have to step outside to change your mind
😂
Nice closet your working out of Matt. Keep up the awesome work your doing
Thanks! Will do!
Only thing matters, is YOUR get away space and you enjoy it as you please! 👍
Agreed!
That leaky radiator is rad! Great idea!
Thanks!
Thanks for sharing Matt , my set up is in my laundry room. We work with what we have , you have some amazing creations out of such a small space 👍
Very true! I'm grateful to have ANY space! When we lived in our 2 bedroom condo, it was quite tricky!
Best SBG intro in like foreva
Thanks!
Man..86 weeks! That's like 6 and a half years! Great videos! You have given me lots and lots of entertainment!
Thanks for watching and maybe you should check your math 😂
@@scalebuildersguild lol I will! Thanks for always replying to all of us crazy people!
Always love seeing the CUCV, and a Volvo.
I wish I could get a lexan top or a longer interior and cage to the Bushido to be more accurate to a samurai
Love the Redcat Ascent. Excellent little truck. Definitely worth upgrading and spending time on.
Damn. That's a small space. And it's awesome.
I'm grateful to have any space! It was tricky to build in our 2 bedroom condo!
...but the most important of all are all your rc builds 💪👍❤️
"that guy". That's me.

The interior and drop bed on the bushido makes breaking the no lexan streak worth it methinks, the truck looks great 🤘🍻🤘
Agreed 🤘
Was so excited when I saw the 01 on the board 👍🏻
Your work space is exactly what I envisioned !!! It’s amazing what you do in there !!!
Thank you! I think a lot of people are very surprised at how tiny it is!
I feel like I just entered Doctor Who's Tardis with that song "it's a whole new world" playing in the background! And as usual, everything on the bench looks amazing!
Would love to see a walk through of how the radiator works in more detail :)
Noted!
You outdid yourself on the busted radiator. My wife walked thru the room and said “thats’s a busted radiator” when she saw the video playing on the TV.

(I hit the like button 3 times BTW)
Thanks!
Pretty sweet addition to the Volvo!
Oh No! A Lexan encounter only one day ago!!!! Please go see a specialist to make sure that you do not have any lasting harm.
😂
That's a RAD idea.. I love how that could be a good recovery call for my wrecker.
Glad I could help!
I would totally watch the British Baking Show, RC edition.

That ascent 18 is sooooooooooooooo cute 😊
PS. I’m incredibly jealous of your cookie
Get your own cookie 😂
It’s relaxed Matt? No top button face looks less red 🤣
Very cool on the broken Rad 💯
Radiator looks awesome 👌
Thanks!
That’s a really cool idea with the radiator on the Volvo, I’d try using the inner fenders from rc4wd for the k10 on the cucv and they’ll work with the engine bay too.
Bro you make that place look big with the cameras.
You’re right, it is hella cool
Love my ascent 18. Best 18th by far
Glad to hear it!
Shoe Goo! Rad radiator dude!
In AZ, go to Pinnacle Peak mtn, a great hike, amazing view, and great scenery for redcat photos. If that steaming rc radiator doesn’t get you laid I don’t know what will
We actually went to Tom's Thumb, which was a great hike!
Nice hobby cockpit! You look good driving SBG😂
You maximize your work space 💯
I try!
i think your shop is cool
Wicked rad looks just like my real Volvo 😍
I'm not saying that a small space, but I'd have to go outside to change my mind.. 😁 The diesels were actually v8's converted from gas to diesel. Turds.

It's not the size that counts, right? 😂
The realistic self steam cleaning Volvo engine bay!
Your space reminds me of Riot in Cell Block Eleven...look it up!
But less RCs! 😂
Looks like a decent space!
My wife says size doesn't matter 😂
How much extra weight do you end up adding with the busted rad? Does it throw off the front / rear weight balance of the car?
It’s pretty negligible. I’m also no drift expert, so I don’t really notice much of a difference.
@@scalebuildersguild Fair enough. I know I've been instructed to try and keep the front / rear weight balance around 35/65 to 40/60 and I was curious if that would bring too much weight forward. As long as it has water, easily 10 minutes!
made me feel claustrophobic for a second or two, i'll try to erase the memory while watching onward
If you're not already going there, you should go to Sedona.. love that place.. but the plains near the Grand Canyon and the Grand Canyon are awesome!
We are going to Sedona!

LOL! Matt you are awesome !!
If you happen to be in north scottsdale when your in AZ. I build a 1/24 course for the hobby garage. Scale course with some great lines.
We were in Scottsdale near Taliesin West, but we're back now!
The camera lens makes it look a lot more spacious.
I have about that same amount of space but less cool trucks then you have lol
Okay, now you need to stick a moose antler in the grille
how are you preventing calcium build up on the atomizer? Distilled water?
Any water will do, it’s not being used so frequently that I would worry about build-up. But, yeah- distilled water would probably help with that!
The ascent needs an 80’s ford ranger grill and headlights. The grill and headlights on it are too 70’s Datsun yet the body is clearly an 80’s ranger
I'm liking the new style your doing.

There's a reservoir that I built that holds the water.
I didn't notice element released a smaller bushido. I know what my next rc purchase will be, not that I need another one 😂
"Need" is a very fluid term when it comes to RC!
Man I had no idea how small your shop was!
Yep! It's tiny!
IMTHATGUY says he doesn't want to be "That Guy" 🤣
😂
If you’re coming to Phoenix bring the drift car and stop by TandemRC!
Friday nights are always a good time.
Maybe next time!
Need links to the electronics for the vaper.

What's the best rock crawler for a beginner but can still upgrade over time? Axial basecamp?
I like the Basecamp, the TRX4 Sport, Element Enduro or the Vanquish VS4-10.
we had both at the wpg base. gas and diesel, and red and tan seats
Very cool!

I always know when someone has commented before watching the whole video. 😉 Canadian CUCV’s had the V8 option.
The diesel variant was a V8. 😉
Are you coming to scale nationals in Leeds again this year ?
There was no announcement for Nationals this year, so we decided to go to Colorado for WE-RC-Rock
Holy crap, I knew you said your was small before, but I didn't realize you meant "Costanza fresh out of the pool" small.
I was in the pool 😂
What’s the water vaper module on Amazon please, would looks so dope on my drift car

Doing that thing.
Thats awesome 👏
