    I have both and love both for different reasons. Also have a FMS FCX18 and that took waaay more work to get it where I wanted it

      I think that’s the right way to look at it. Out of the box the Redcat is a more capable rock crawler, but the TRX4M is a great looking scale trail rig. Once you start upgrading them, either one can become a perfectly capable comp rig.
      I love my FCX18 though! I don’t really use it like the TRX4M or Ascent 18 but it sure does get a lot of trail time. It’s a trail rig 100% and I’m usually pulling a trailer with it these days 😂 Thanks for watching!

    Nicely done. The TRX4 is heavier than the redcat that is why it beat it in the tug of war, it is also lower to the ground.

      I have never weighed them but I suspect you are right. The lower to the ground part probably helped quite a lot as well since the Redcat flipped. Thank you for your comment and for watching 👍🏻

      Was thinking the same thing. I know from experience, I have one of each!

      One of each is the way to go! They’re both a lot of fun.

    Great comparison vid and love the Mortal Kombat throwback.
    Did you find the Ascent to have similar throttle control to the TRX4m, or is it smoother? From what little I’ve gleaned in videos, the Traxxas seems to require a bit more throttle bump to get it moving over obstacles, especially at slow speeds.

      Haha thank you! I had a bunch of fun putting all the MK stuff together. The Ascent has a lot more punch and needs less convincing to get up and over things. It’s pretty smooth too for RTR electronics. I’d definitely say it feels smoother than the TRX4M. It seems to have more torque which helps a ton. Definitely a great performing rig out of the box. I’ve been enjoying it a lot! Thanks for the comment and for watching!

    I have two trx4m defenders and a Bronco, and they're cool, but I am planning to get that new Redcat. It just seems like it'll be well worth it.

    I'm starting to regret getting a high trail for 200 bucks😭

    • @Bash_TheStampede
      @Bash_TheStampede  10 дней назад +1

      Well the high trail is still really great! It’s an excellent trail truck with a gorgeous scale body (which one did you get?). The Redcat just leans a little more on the performance for crawling side of things.

      @Bash_TheStampede I got the Chevy k10 although, I have it fully pimped out with a furitek comp chassis

    I've never really liked the Trx4m, and the reason is the heavy body.
    Nothing wrong with "scale", i just prefer more performance.
    But to be fair, this is not a fair comparison.
    I would like to see a test of both rigs with equal bodies.
    Put a lexan body on the trx4m, what would the outcome be?..

    • @Bash_TheStampede
      @Bash_TheStampede  8 месяцев назад +1

      Oh yeah definitely not a fair comparison aside from the fact that they’re both stock. The Redcat is built more with performance in mind while the trx4m is obviously more on the scale side. That said, with the same body on each truck I think the Redcat would still be the winner in a lot of this. It’s better equipped out of the box and the portals and larger tires helped it out quite a lot.

      @@Bash_TheStampede Good points, I'm loving the Redcat, such an awesome platform to mod!
      New sub. I love crawlers. Mostly 1/24 and now 1/18.
      Gonna have to make a mudder and a trail rig next. My daughter loves the mud, but also is old enough now to see that MY truck is much better then hers, and wants it upgraded and modded.
      Lol

      @@MrsRabbit8 Thank you for the sub! I’m glad that you and your daughter are both into the hobby together it’s definitely more fun when you have someone to enjoy it with. Yeah there are so many different builds with these little crawlers! It’s hard to not have a build going with them 😂 I’m modding my Ascent 18 now and am excited to make more videos about it. Again thanks for the sub and thanks watching the video. I really appreciate it!

    Fun fun got more more crawlers im waiting for Traxxas to hit back with the ultimate crawler Traxxas update radio and servo portals and 2 speed make body better maybe entire new platform idk its getting interesting for certain id be willing pay 250 for something that was just way better 99.99 great but how about 300 with better everything rtr m

    • @Bash_TheStampede
      @Bash_TheStampede  6 месяцев назад +1

      I agree, the TRX4M could use an update and that’s crazy because not too long ago I would have considered it one of the best options after you fix some of the issues it has. I wish they would have made more changes with the TRX4MT as well. It would have been great with open diffs and more power. Hopefully we will see something new soon! For now, with the money you’re willing to spend you should check out some 1/10th scale stuff if you’re into it. The mini guys are fun but 1/10th performance is a whole different ball game!

    Lol, whut? There’s literally no comparison. The Trashxxis cant do anything, and it’s way more expensive. The aftermarket for the Trashxxis sucks, too. For the $60 price difference a person could buy the fanciest brass wheels, tires and inserts for the Ascent, and have a very capable rig.
    The Trashxxis runs on frigging bushings! C’mon!

    • @Bash_TheStampede
      @Bash_TheStampede  3 месяца назад

      Idk about this claim regarding the aftermarket, but the Ascent certainly out performed the TRX4M.
