Losi Micro B | Faster Laps, Zero Upgrade Parts!
Просмотров 3 тыс.День назад
Faster lap times without any upgrade parts! The box stock class is a lot of fun but it’s also really limited as far as what all you can do to your buggy. Luckily the Micro B has a lot of areas where we can improve it without upgrading a single part! In this video I’m going show you how I get rid of some of the slop, and tune the suspension for faster and more consistent lap times! As always tha...
This MICRO Buggy is MASSIVELY Impressive | Losi Micro B Review
Просмотров 2,2 тыс.21 день назад
The Micro B is nothing like the original Micro T. The original Micro T was a lot of fun, and hobby grade but more of a "For fun" RC than a well engineered performance machine. The new Micro B changes that entirely and redefines what I think about 1/24th scale racing as a whole. This is a straight up 2wd race buggy shrunk down into a tiny package, and I believe that Losi executed it perfectly. I...

Tiny Truck Showdown: TRX4M vs. Ascent 18 - New 18th Scale Champion?
To smoothen the mini-z feont end you can do what's called a kingpin flip.
Yes sir the kingpin flip is legal in box stock at my local track. It’s a must do when allowed!
Junk LOL, didnt even have to see it drive, I could tell the quality level as soon as you pulled the mini out the box.
I wouldn’t call it junk, personally. It feels well made but I do think the suspension setup in the front could slow it down some in comparison to the Mini-Z.
I am a died in the wool associated guy but I say that with kyosho being my second brand. You associated backs the car with update and modifications like he owes you should be a winner
Yeah I think if they keep up with it and if the after market tags along it could be a lot better. They’re not bad stock though, they’re definitely fun and capable, just wound up being slower than my mini z.
I own 2 of them along with the modern trucks too..like the X Maxx, but something about the Clod Buster, it’s just a fun truck to run!
I totally agree. Something about the Clod just makes it timeless.
what battery are you running in your FCX24M, the connector @5:22 doesn't look standard?
Im running the stock battery in this video but I changed the connector to an XT30 so that it would match my other mini stuff.
I'm starting to regret getting a high trail for 200 bucks😭
Well the high trail is still really great! It’s an excellent trail truck with a gorgeous scale body (which one did you get?). The Redcat just leans a little more on the performance for crawling side of things.
@Bash_TheStampede I got the Chevy k10 although, I have it fully pimped out with a furitek comp chassis
Thank You! This is the best useful video for the micro-b and I have seen just about all of them. I also want to see your new track video.
Thank you I’m glad you found it useful! The new track is definitely still a work in progress but I’ll make sure to show it as soon as it’s done.
The short wheelbase of the D90 hampers it’s performance compared to any of the other three models, all of which have a relatively long wheelbase. 🤔
I absolutely agree, and you don’t get all that much more maneuverability out of it either which is a shame. I still enjoy it quite a lot though because it’s a different experience from my other little rigs. Steep climbs are very suspenseful! 😂 Thanks for watching!
Depends on definition of ‘box stock’ is. Example: Tamiya TCS races the box based classes shimming is not allowed. Otherwise slop and bindin never helps (exc tamiya tt01 friction shocks and downtravel, if you know you know). -U10
I agree there will definitely be some variance in the rules around box stock classes depending on where you’re racing and who makes the rules. Another good example would be the king pin flip for Mini-Z, some places are cool with it and others aren’t. I’ll bet those Tamiya TCS races are a blast, though. I don’t have a lot of 1/10th scale on road racing around me but I’ve always wanted to get into it.
You don't have to put a signature when it's posted by your screen name. -IPS0125
I see your servo saver is pretty lose, would help with alot of slop!
I didn’t see that! I’ll have to check and see if I can tighten it up.
Yes, love the video. I want to learn everything about my micro B. I’ll watch for the next one until then. Peace and chicken grease😁👍👍👋👋😎
Thank you! There will definitely be more Micro B content in the near future. Probably upgrades next.
👍👍 awesome I appreciate the video the tips and tricks I’m just getting into my micro B. I love it. I bought one for a great friend of mine I have some to race with.
Of course! Amazing to have another one to race with your friend.
Great information. I just subscribed to your channel.👍👍👍👍
Thank you! I think you might have been my 1000th sub!
@Bash_TheStampede did I win 🏆? congrats. I know youtube can be hard work.
Nice man! Do you notice any weird wobble when accelerating from a stop? Mine kinda wobbles slightly left to right and i was thinking maybe uneven tires or a drive shaft but still can’t figure it out.
I haven’t had anything like that happen on mine. I’d guess that you could run it in the air and see if the rear wheels have any wobble. If not, make sure everything is seated correctly up front and make sure there aren’t any broken parts. Has it always been like that?
@ hey thanks for replying. Yes ive tightened everything I could but what ima be doing is testing the tires from another brand new micro-b and swapping them, also will be doing that with the shafts to see if anything changes and go from there.
Of course! I think that’s a good way to root out the issue. Good luck!
@@Bash_TheStampedeloosen your wheels some too tight mine did what yours did loser just a little bit.
Rock van update
It’s coming! I just need to actually buy a new drive shaft for it so that it’ll be 4wd for the video 😂

🏎️ 💨
no metal gears and only a push in plastic pinion ,will not last for brushless setup
I’m sure the aftermarket will have heavier duty gears for whoever out there wants to make a brushless basher out of the Micro B. There are probably a lot of chassis out there that are far more suited to that type of running, but to each their own. At this scale plastic gears could be ok during normal running/racing. The Kyosho brushless mini Z buggies have plastic gears and I think they last alright.
@@Bash_TheStampede i try mine micro b with brushless and it melt the gears after a few runs ,i wage there will be a mini b brushless version in the near future
@ oh wow! What motor did you use? That would be cool to see!
@@Bash_TheStampede 1220 45T 8200KV but u have to change esc and some soldering but careful and not try with 3s which i try and stripped the whole spur and pinions
Good to know!
Amazing little car! Does Losi have any plans for a 4wd version?
It really is pretty great! I don’t know if they have plans for anything like that. I’d assume we would get a Micro T just because not much would have to change to make it happen, a 4wd chassis would have to be a whole new design. That certainly would be cool to see though! Check out the Mini Z buggies and the Carisma GT24B if you’re interested in a 4wd buggy in this scale.
Love mine. Just bought some aftermarket wheels of Etsy that work with mini z buggy tires
Nice! I’ll bet those will be useful since the Mini Z has been out so long. I’ll bet there are options from PN Racing and maybe Kyosho?
I got one of these. They are fun to drive and worth the money. The only disadvantage I found was that I can not find another battery for mine. They are not available yet. Thoughts?
I’m already thinking about measuring it and seeing what kind of aftermarket batteries will fit! It looks similar in size to like the FMS FCX24 batteries and some others. I’ll have to try and let you know! It’s possible that an adapter would have to be made or a connector change would be in order though.
@@Bash_TheStampede It looks like replacement batteries will come out next year. Just not sure when. Thoughts?
Super cool love your little course, question what did you use for that border? The red and white appreciate any info yeah I really been digging on my micro B. I bought the silver one first got the white one for a buddy of mine. He doesn’t know it yet, appreciate the video I’ll watch for the next one until then peace and chicken grease😁👍👍👋👋😎
Hey thanks! The border/barrier things came with a hexmods RC car from target. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen similar stuff to that on Amazon. I may actually have to take a look as I get more into creating an indoor track. That’s nice of you to get one for your buddy! I’ll definitely be doing more Micro B videos. Probably a tear down/race prep, then an upgrading one.
Yeah, they are lots of fun. I bought another one for a friend of mine for I’ll have somebody to race with.
That’s why I got two as well. May form a small collection if I can get enough friends over to race 😂
I am also a proud owner of this awesome car and I freaking love it!!!!!!❤❤❤
Awesome! I’m glad you enjoy it too!
i got to drive one of these at my RC shop last week. OMG so fun!!!!
@@sethzorzi dude I’m obsessed haha
Silver all the way
I agree but I do kinda like the white too. Gives me Castrol race livery vibes
They look great, pre-ordered one a month ago and still nowhere to be seen 😅 really looking forward to it
Yikes! They seem to have hit back order status really quickly online. Hopefully you'll at least get a solid ETA soon.
@Bash_TheStampede i live in Portugal mate , everything gets here with a couple of months of delay , if we get lucky
Ah okay! Well I hope you enjoy it when does arrive!
check your RC shop, mine already had them.
Yes!!! Sweet review looks like a sweet car!!
Thank you! It really is awesome, I've been running one every chance I get!
I got every weight mod possible for my top heavy defender lol, 3 piece weighted wheels too
Awesome! I’ll bet it’s not so top heavy anymore. It’s surprising how much better they get with a little brass on the axles, especially the front one 💪🏻
Damn i wish i got in the hobby back when these were new. My buddies had them tho. Great Video.
I wish I would have held on to my original one! I feel like so many cool RC cars got lost to time lol. On the bright side, you’re in the hobby at an awesome time, everything is so much better now 😂 Thanks for watching!
I have both and love both for different reasons. Also have a FMS FCX18 and that took waaay more work to get it where I wanted it
I think that’s the right way to look at it. Out of the box the Redcat is a more capable rock crawler, but the TRX4M is a great looking scale trail rig. Once you start upgrading them, either one can become a perfectly capable comp rig. I love my FCX18 though! I don’t really use it like the TRX4M or Ascent 18 but it sure does get a lot of trail time. It’s a trail rig 100% and I’m usually pulling a trailer with it these days 😂 Thanks for watching!
What transmission you running, are you using the stock Traxxas transmitter?
No I’m using a different radio system. And the transmission is the stock case with injora steel gears in the stock gear ratio.
Was this filmed last year, or are you just an early decorator?🎄
Haha we got it up really early this year 😂
That's awesome, i bought the mini monster truck one! I love it!! I dont have the issue of it sticking on in reverse tho. As im sure ur aware there are buttons to turn the steering down and the throttle up and down too, so maybe one of those will help. I do love it tho, it was a bit expensive, i paid $125 for mine, im in Canada too tho, so everything is more expensive here! I thought about doing a video too, if i do, i will come back and leave u the link, thanks for the video, enjoy ur car! P.S. I love the Bronco u have down in the bottom right corner of the video!!!
The monster truck one looks really cool! I never tried messing with the throttle trim since the issue was kinda intermittent but I’ll give that a whirl and see if it helps! Good suggestion! The on the shelf there? I love it too that’s my TRX4 probably one of my favorite RC cars to take out. Definitely leave a link if you decide to make a video and I’ll check it out. Thanks for watching!
OOOOHHHH sweet!!!
It’s a pretty cool little guy!
So do they actually do rc twisted metal?
Like RC cars riding around destroying each other? I don’t know! That would be pretty cool though.
Well... you talked me into it! Working on some upgrades on my Rock Van when I found this. Thanks for the great review and good info on the dry gears - appreciate that.
I’m glad you found the video helpful! Going for the big 370?
When you have upgraded all those parts, what is left of the TRX4m? Why not just buy separate parts and build your own car from scratch?
That is absolutely the way to go if you’re trying to do a fully built TRX4M platform rig. In my case, I bought my 4M on a rainy day so I could do some indoor crawling. I never expected to go crazy with it like I did haha. Next time I’d go from scratch for sure! All that is left stock on this one is the transmission housing and the skid.
Are you using the Traxxas Brushless ESC with this as well? Also, is it still waterproof? Thanks!
No, this one has the Furitek Lizard Pro ESC and Micro Komodo brushless motor. I’ve gotten it pretty wet without any issues but I don’t believe Furitek advertises this system as waterproof.
They advertise the motor as water proof for some reason. It's an out runner with holes in it😂.
It should come with the max 4s combo in it 😂
I mean that would be pretty cool! Lol
Thanks for sharing. A big fan of these two speed brushed trucks. I recently grabbed this exact truck up in green! I love this early version. I plan to stock up on spare parts to keep it going forever!
It’s so good! My first one was green all those years ago but I couldn’t find one at the time. Have fun with it!
I’m completely shocked 😳. I had no idea the stock shocks were oil fillable. I just did this and it makes a huge difference, very smooth. Thanks 👍👍
Im glad I was able to help! Thanks for watching.
Really?😂😂😂😂😂😂 i gonna do that tmr
Good luck!!
Curious to know the differences between this and the 16207. Both seem similar but the 16207 includes 3s packs and is cheaper? Thanks!
They do seem very similar! The differences that I can see from looking online are the batteries (like you said) and the chassis. The 16207 appears to share the same chassis and battery design as the H16BM so you will get the 1050mah hard L shaped packs that are held in with a locking mechanism. The H16PL chassis looks a little different overall, but the main thing you’ll notice is that it uses straps to secure the battery and it comes with larger capacity 2000mah 2s packs. So the 16207 will be faster thanks to the 3s pack but you’ll have to get creative when it comes to mounting other batteries. You’ll also want to buy or make an adapter for the balance port if you ever wind up using a real battery charger to charge the included packs. The H16PL will give you nearly double the run time and will be much more flexible when it comes to installing different battery packs thanks to the strap mounting system and larger capacity batteries. The downside is that it’ll be a little slower out of the box because it comes with 2s packs. I hope that was helpful!
@@Bash_TheStampedethanks. I decided to go with the 16207 as it’s cheaper, 3s included, and 80 on Ali express with three batteries. Thanks again for the info.
@@nebulight Nice! Enjoy!
I have a 24m Range Rover. Aluminum wheels, the OGRC weights, and RC4WD BFG KM3’s(50x18) made a big difference. But what made a MASSIVE difference for my truck, was moving my battery to the very front of the truck. I used a rubber band to keep it in place. I’m going to be designing a bolt in 3D printed mount for the battery to sit up front! It climbs so much easier now! Batrazzi lower links also helped, but not a huge difference! Haven’t added the steering links, but I will be soon! More weight in the front helps it climb! I also did 43mm double barrel shocks, but there’s actually so much articulation now, that the shocks will bind on their pivot balls! So Im going to try 45mm normal shocks(not double barrel)!
Very nice! I was also thinking about printing a new mount/tray for the battery up front. It would be even cooler if you made it where you could mount the battery lower too. Help center of gravity a little bit! You’ll have to let me know what you come up with I’d be excited to see/hear about it. On D90 the rear drive shaft will pop out before you get any binding so I never got to find the limit you’re talking about haha.
@@Bash_TheStampede I found I needed longer driveshafts after I did the 43mm shocks. I had originally purchased metal driveshafts, stock length for the Range Rover. But fcx24 driveshafts are a hair longer! Might need to shorten them a little for your truck!
@@erichfranke more good info!
Mofo driveshafts rock !
Can you get them for this rig?
@@Bash_TheStampede yes. 40-53mm front 60-83mm. Rear... Mofo has them. Injora ones
@@stevekelley677 that’s good to know because my rock van is in dire need of some new driveshafts!
Swapped to brushless? My evo rock van doesn't move like that in 2nd gear. Got the Furitek stinger brushless kit with micro komodo motor on the way though.
No it’s got the RCAWD 370 brushed motor in there. I think that’s on 2s too since it doesn’t have the sweet tooth body on it in this video - 3S is wild! It’s completely useless as a rock crawler with this setup though.
@Bash_TheStampede OH wow! That still awesome. I'll send a video of mine with the Brushless motor when it comes in on the 15th. I've been playing with this thing all stock with the 130 brushed motor and it crawls damn good. If I actually let it just slow crawl it goes well. Going to get the 20 percent over drive portal gears and make it faster.😂
