Well I’ll put something out there that I picked up in relation to this. I believe there is a Billie Eilish theme going on through the song, not a lot but touches on Billies song bad guy. So when Ashley said ‘what’, that’s similar to Duh in ‘Bad guy’ .There’s also the 2 sections where the purple tinge

So when Ashley said ‘what’, that’s similar to Duh in ‘Bad guy’ .There’s also the 2 sections where the purple tinge has them singing ‘if I were a rich man’ and a strong background bass sound, this too reminds of Billie Eilishes music, maybe ‘bad guy’ or ‘Bury a friend’

Geoff usually doubles on the rhythm/bass track when he's singing the lead. While Eli and Layne can sing baritone, they leave it to Geoff for those true bass notes. I love the addition of Cesar, though I miss J. And don't miss Geoff's performance of Misty Mountains, he outdoes himself once again!
AFAIK, they have Geoff sing the bass lines on all recordings, even if he has also the lead voice. In their live appearances, they take advantage of Eli's incredible range and have him sing the bass lines when Geoff has to sing lead.

Adding to Rickie Odem; Layne also can reach bass notes to fill when Geoff is on lead. Geoff just does it best of course. They will also double their tracks as needed in post for best production value. If you want to hear them 'as is', catch some live clips on the RUclips. They only use the talents of Paul, the sound guy then.
Ashley Diane is collaborating with Voiceplay for the first time. She came in through Cesar, as they did the Disney/Universal circuit together in the past. She has great runs in the upper range, so I don't know why they 'tuned her at all.
Love their rendition of this song, it sticks with you like oatmeal.
@@randiskye4444 How that is true, in most videos they aren't singing....which is fairly known. But for the bass while Geoff is singing, they add a second recording of not just him but the rest for the effect. But for mainly him, it's to make the bass sounds while he is singing, so it is both him for the most occasions
@@friedemannkemm63 From what I heard, Geoff has been coaching almost everyone else on how to sing low notes. Eli can hit some decent lows and so can Layne, it only remains for Geoff to coach Cesar now and whoever comes in to join the group to make up the 5 (if it's another guy).
I really wish it could be Rachel Potter as her voice is so amazing and compliments the guys voices so well. Unfortunately, it's not likely as she lives on the East side and has her own business there as well as a family and the rest of the group are in Florida. Oh well, I guess we can dream.

Most definitely. In my view, they are the best acapella group out there. They always go that extra 20 miles to put on a full production.

When I first heard Ashley's Riff, folllwed by the "What" I imagined that they were rehearsing, it got to the point where she gets to the difficult Riff... everyone pays attention to see... she Smashes it, and everyone stops in shock.... she says "What?" as if she thought it was completely Trivial, and they decided to keep it in the Song.
Voiceplay does a great cover of Man in the Mirror. Definitely worth a reaction
This is amazing. The song is fantastically put together. Welcome to Cesar, he fits in so perfectly. And Ashley. That riff towards the end followed by "What". Genius! Love your face too. So expressive!
Oh, and a suggestion for a song I'd love to see you react to. Citizen Queen - Never enough. They're an all girl acapella group put together by Scott from Pentatonix. Definitely worth having a look and listen if you don't have the opportunity to react to them :)
They don't shy away from effects nor does "Home Free". The only time I'm offended when the artists does that is during a performance people paid money to go to. Extreme reverb, doubling and positional surround sound effects are fine by me especially for music video formats.
Unless they claim there are no effects or processing used, I don't see why it's a bad thing, anyway. Are they using amplifiers and speakers? It's already going to be different from plain voice. The audience is there to be entertained, so as long as it's entertaining . . . .

Geoff does double on the bass in their videos, but when they perform life Eli usally takes over the bass/ lead. The also do sometimes use effects, but also dont have those when they perform live.
Jose is also with VoicePlay on "My Mother Told Me". "Dragonborn Comes - Skyrim" features a very talented singer Omar Cardona. One of their earlier pieces with lots of Eli is "My Shot" from Hamilton. #SubscriptionSquad.

I really hope they add Deejay. Don't get me wrong: Ashley is AMAZING. But Deejay blended so well and his higher register is incredible.

I totally agree with that, her voice truly blends well with them. It's not like there is tons of lyrics with this, but the blending is beautiful. Earlier I was thinking that Adriana Arellano would be a good choice but I feel Ashley would be a better fit, so VP becomes PTX 2.0?

Cesar's addition to the group is fantastic, this is the first cover he's done as an official member, before that he also did with them the covers of Butter and We're Good, which you should check out.
You're at your very best when you react to and break down Voiceplay's work, one of the reasons being that you seem to genuinely enjoy yourself.

Voiceplay did such an amazing job with this song. And Ashley was perfect, she blends so well with them. Don't you think she's the perfect opposite to Geoff, where he goes real low, she goes real high? And the post-production is fantastic. I believe Layne takes care of that and he's such a pro. 😊
Layne does the post production himself, he then hands it to a professional mixer to refine it a bit more before production.
Loved the reaction! I believe this is her first appearance with them. She is with a group in Florida called Resolve.

Love your reactions and I love this version of the song, Ashley was amazing. Love how big your smile is at the start when you saw Geoff take lead straight away and how you very rarely lose that smile throughout the video. Ashley from what I’ve heard is part a jazz group called Resolve.
This has always been my FAVOURITE song from any musical - but now? HOLY MOLY this version is a BANGER!!!! New fav FOR SURE!!

Talk about riffs, another great cover by Voice Play is Tennessee Whiskey. The riffs are amazing, especially the one at the end. That is a must. Carry On My Wayward Son is another awesome cover. Best ever !

A lot of Voiceplay recordings seem to be multitrack; hence, Geoff's baseline can be played over what he's singing on other tracks.

Danielle, in case you didn’t know, Ashley Diane sings in a vocal quartet called Resolve. She sings soprano, Elodie Germain sings alto, Joshua Waddy sings tenor, and Christopher Keough sings bass and is the founder and arranger of the vocal group. Here’s one of their videos:

Don't know if you've ever heard of a Polish artist called "Basia". In a lot of her recordings (studio and especially live) the background vocalists would create similar 3-part harmonies to what were in this song. I was going crazy hearing them over and over in this video before I finally placed them from Basia. If you get a chance check out "Third Time Lucky" (Basia on Broadway) or "Yearning" (Sweet Illusion).
Go back and listen to Ashley's riff but WATCH the guys' faces.

You should react to some auror music but if you are still into voiceplay you should listen to just sing collaboration with close caps because it show who sings what or survivor voiceplay and homefree collaboration.

Ashley Dianne is better than Rachel Potter & has more attitude when it counts. I believe Voice Play originally wanted Ashley Dianne to play the female role in Enemy. But they were contacted by Alexa who asked if she could do it. I think Ashley Dianne would have done it better.
