I've got another Voiceplay video coming at you today on the Creative Channel! This was SUCH a fun version of this song. I loveeeee "Fiddler on the Roof" and honestly, this rendition is crazy good. I put it up there with the original! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, and thanks for watching!

This was a layne arrangement, he tends to put the Geoff drops in. Before his last low note you can see layne has a slight smile as he knows what's about to happen
I love watching the byplay between Geoff and Layne in Warriors. It's really subtle but when Geoff hits that really low note Layne gives him a side eye like "still ok over there buddy" and Geoff looks back over at him like "jerk!". LOL
I LOVE THOSE LOOKS!!! ❤❤❤❤ That little grin Layne gives is so cute!!!! ❤
One things you'll learn is that they all have INSANE ranges. Geoff, Layne and Eli can all hit notes from the first to the fifth octave relatively easily. Absolutely crazy.
Layne has actually hit an A0, one note lower than Geoff. He did it as an inhale note at the very end of Sh-Boom when he did the winding down sound effect.
I love how they mix the traditional version of this with a more pop one.

I think you’ll absolutely love when voiceplay sings “friends on the other side” it’s my favorite performance of them
VoicePlay was formed back in 1997, under the name 42five (four-to-five). At first, Layne was the baritone, but he became the beatboxer from 2003, when Scott Porter left the group to pursue his acting career.
Ashley has a beautiful voice, and her riffs are up there with Eli's riffs and runs! I believe she is into musical theatre, so she won't be joining VP, at least not now.
This is some kind of a mashup between Fiddler on the Roof and Gwen Stefani's "Rich Girl". I love this version, and mostly everything VoicePlay does! 💯🤯🔥💗
This is a Layne arrangement. They typically trade off every other one.
Typically if Geoff is featured, Layne did the arrangement. Not always, but more often than not. Geoff said it is because Layne forces him into lower and lower notes. If Eli gets a chance to show off his rock Voice, it is usually a Geoff arrangement. They are both amazing.
Geoff and Laine do most of the arrangements. Can't wait to see more of your Voiceplay reactions.
The beatboxer also has a solo in their 'Little Mermaid Medley Feat. Rachel Potter' video. He does an _amazing_ performance as the cook that loves little fish. His solo is short but awesome.
Oh, you need to do Queen in 5 Minutes and the Little Mermaid Medley... you will love them!
This is still one of my favorite Voiceplay covers.
I love this one because it shows off their flexibility with their voices. Those runs…wow!!! Ashley was introduced to VoicePlay through another VoicePlay guest artist, DeeJay Young. You should hear him in “Bang”, “Your My Best Friend”, and “Man In The Mirror”. These videos have sets but are not costumed. Thanks for your reaction
Love it! This was actually the first song with Cesar as an official member. Prior to this he was in “We’re good”, “Butter” and their minis but as a featured artist. Layne was originally their baritone. To see their original beatboxer, Scott Porter (now an actor), react to Halo. And for more of Layne singing, True colours is soooo beautiful!!
Before reacting to Halo make sure that you have at least two things to throw... And please watch all the way to the end, after the song ends they have a little tribute.
I just love Layne's voice. Geoff said when Earl left the group and they did Heart of Life they decided to dub in the fifth part with one of them. All the amazing background runs, riffs and harmonies are all Layne in addition to the main part he sang. His voice is like velvet so when he did that "hello, Clarice" in the horror medley short it shocked the poo outta me! Gave me the serious goosebumps. LOL

You'll get to hear Layne doing awesome character voices in Little Mermaid, The Grinch, and the Moana Medley. I can't remember the song, but one of their much older ones has him rapping at high speed and it's so good. (EDIT: it's I Knew You Were Trouble with Rachel Potter) He also has an amazing bit in My Shot. I knew Ashley's run would get a Biscuit--it's just wow.
Layne's arrangements feature Geoff a lot and Geoff's give a chance to Layne to shine.
They all have a wide range. And I've seen Geoff do a bit of beat boxing on occasion - plus both Layne and Geoff do almost all of the arrangements. I know Eli arranged one - Eleanor Rigby. So much fun, aren't they? I loved the film so much and this took time to grow on me, but now I love it.
For a change of pace - listen to their cover of Eleanor Rigby. It was beautifully arranged by Eli. I think he also did a short a few years ago... you'll rarely see him arranging, but if this is an indicator, it's our loss that he doesn't do more. It's not musical theater, but the song carries it's own dramatic weight which they lean into.
Eli arranged the “Doctor Who Theme” mini this year as well.

What I love about VoicePlay is the fact that I smile throughout most of the videos, they just fill me with joy...
Layne (the beatboxer) arranged this one... Yes Geoff dose a lot of arranging but so dose Layne
Layne did the arrangement, he'd been working on it for 5 years or so according to a comment from his wife Cindy. And Geoff had been working on Wicked for quite a while too. So both the arrangers have major works out this year. Both arrangers know the group voices so well, and how to write parts that showcase each member in turn. Amazing to have two great arrangers in the same group. As for Geoff's run at the end where he went high, then low--Layne wrote the part, knowing that Geoff would figure out how to sing it. Look at the smile on Layne, when Geoff nails it.
Anyone know if there is another Christmas release coming from Voice Play?
I’m hoping so much for a Christmas song from VoicePlay but haven’t seen anything announced yet. I had hoped to see something on Patreon today but there wasn’t yet.

It's so fun to watch someone fall in love with Voiceplay. I remember when I first found them and it was just a pleasure diving into their catalog. I know they have been reacted to death, but you would really enjoy their Nightmare before Christmas songs, some of their most popular videos, for good reason. For a fun video, check out their Boy band in 5 minutes. There really isn't a bad song on their entire channel. The lineup may change, guest singers come and go, but the core 3 always make magic with anyone.
I enjoy your reactions so much! In this piece, I enjoyed the sly , I know what's coming look Layne gives Geoff as he is about to climb up to that high "wealthy", just before he drops into the subbasement. And before that, when Ashley does that amazing riff, the guys each give her a "what the heck was that" look which triggers the "What?"
Please check out Queen in 5 minutes and Tennessee Whiskey. These both have members no longer with Voiceplay, but are excellent.

Ashley Diane is a friend of Cesar de la Rosa and sings with a jazz group. I'd say HALO and Friends on the Other Side - Geoff hits B0 in HALO and J None, former baritone now in the US Navy, came back on leave to take the lead in Friends, their Halloween song.

This is a wonderful upbeat arrangement to show off their talents.
It took me a while to actually love this arrangement. I love the musical and I just couldn’t see anyone doing this song any differently than it was done in the musical. So it took a while but now it’s one of my favorites.
I am a huge VoicePlay fan but I do enjoy the other two groups - just not as much. That said, check out Home Free Full of Cheer. A Christmas song with a twist. Usually their songs are too country for me (although they are very talented) but I really enjoyed this one. Although it isn’t musical theater, it has that theatricality and playfulness that draws me to VoicePlay.
This is one of my all-time favourite songs, this rendition that is. So much fun and there's so many little "surprises" going on. I just always feel that I want more Eli. Always.

Oh and there is a little something that just come out...Tim Foust with a song by himself...Tim Foust-Come Go With Me...several Tim's and so much fun. Not Christmas...but is very entertaining. Also check out "Daddy Sang Base" very fun lol. Have not heard anything from them I don't love! They do have some beautiful Christmas stuff as well, but Halloween seems to be their holiday lol, Geoff's Monster Mash is awesome and "Headless Horseman" for another with the lead way down in the basement.

The old saying is " if you got it flaunt it " . Layne the beat boxer can sing almost as low as Geoff. Elei has an awesome range & can sing almost as low as Geoff as well. They sometimes undertone for Geoff while Geoff is singing base.
The sky is their limit!

You want something creative please check out 'I Wonder As I Wander - Epic Version' by Simon Khorolskiy. He's a Russian American youtuber who has an 'Epic Version' series of songs on his channel. He also did a collab with Chris Rupp, formally of Home Free. He and Chris did an 'Epic' version of 'Poor Wayfaring Stranger' where he sings a couple verses of the song in Russian. I did not know I needed to hear Wayfaring Stranger in Russian until it happened, but now I know it was indeed something I needed.

He doesn't do as much, that is part of why he left Pentatonix, but what he does is very powerful. Although I do wish that he would show off his base more, since he is a professionally trained choir base.
