The thing I love (among other things) is that they included the list of all the pieces they were doing. I thought Hall of the Mountain King was creative, but Layne outdid himself with this one. The creativity and invention, in addition to the music is out of sight!!
Did you see Cesar dancing can-can? Oh, Lord !! Between this one and the twerking in "Drunken Sailor", he's gonna kill me just by making me laugh. I promise. 😆
Since you commented upon 'how cool would it be to be on set' - that is one of the very best perks of their Patreon! Yes, those are 'real' horns (not CGI). The Behind the Scene video this time showed rehearsal (and what their actions actually would be/staging), then we got to watch MakeUp and Costuming and then into actual filming. FYI - this happened NOW (and not closer to Halloween) probably because Layne and Tony had built a forest in PattyCake's studio for the most recent installment of their "Villain's Lair". So - not sure how long this was planned ahead, but I find it hard to imagine that they would not want to take advantage of an already built indoor 'forest'! BTW - a hint on costuming - Eli's coat in this was worn by Layne in "Valhalla..." and "My Mother..." and you can also see it on Geoff's Channel on Thorin in "I See Fire" and "Far Over..." Lastly - I know they called Rachel the White Witch here, but I kind of love her Black Feathered costume with the Ravens/Crows at the very beginning of the video. So, in MY mind she's playing 'The Morrígan' who is related in Celtic Myth with Victory in Battle (and in the end here, she WINS!)
Each one of them spent about two hours in the makeup chair. Horns, ears, warts, Rachel’s lips - and let’s not forget Geoff’s chin - all had to be applied and painted. But I think the greatest feat is the soundstage. Layne and Tony hauled in 32 trees and had about 10 more fake trees hand painted for the set. You can only do something like that if you own the studio. (They are using it for a couple of Pattycake videos as well - part 1 of the Villians Lair episode Ancient Relics premiered today also)
Not a coincidence: a serendipitous concatenation of circumstances - and the more I hear it the more I hear and the more I like it. But that's typical VoicePlay, isn't it?
I like Voice Play more than other acapella groups. They are so creative and inventive in their videos. This is a mix of classical music, I recognize an Opera of French composer , George Bizet : Carmen, then Beethoven, and others classicals They are so inventive👍🥰♥️
They changed the color of Layne’s horns to keep with his Carrot Lord image (since they didn’t show an actual carrot in this video like they did in Mountain King.
Layne also included an Easter egg for the Carrot Lord. Watch the smoke change to each character’s color as they solo, then see what happens as Layne sings.
if you look at Layne’s part again and watch the flame it goes orange with a hint of green to look like a carrot 😂 I love how he slipped that Easter egg in it , the first one they did it had been easy since he used the carrot to make themselves disappear , this time someone found the little Easter egg carrot 😆
@@aussiebloke609 my husband had noticed that later on when I showed him , i was surprised I missed the change 😂 but I do love how clever Layne truly is 😁
What an incredible arrangement and performance by VP! The Grundels are my favorite! Singing, acting, set, arrangement and costume was epic! Thanks for reacting to it!
Hall of the Mountain King. When I watched VoicePlay do that at noon, I had the same problem with Rachel. I checked the credits and sure enough it is her.
Hall of the Mountain King is not Rachel. That was Elizabeth Gorrasso. This is Rachel Potter. That is why the different makeup. It is a different character.
@@PAT8888-is2pd Absolutely. That comment was strictly for Saeed who was searching for the name of the one from over a year ago. But Rachel was dressed and made up to kill. A different look for her.

Love the humor they put into their video's! Always a fun time with VoicePlay.
Cesar is so adorable
Love this glimpse into Layne's imagination. So well done.

Now that's a perk 😄.
Thanks so much for taking the time to share this background info!
Finally. Someone agrees with me about the Crow Goddess 😅
@@karenponchak5304 YES!!!! I'm also glad I'm not the only one!
Layne wrote in the premier chat that those were bats.
@@Agnes_EvaR but the feathers on Rachel's cloak are more reminiscent of crow feathers (or raven, but the Morrigan is a female goddess).

VoicePlay's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" released Sept. 2022
Thanks for letting me know! Appreciate that.

Hey cool! You're my first reactor on this! It's going to take a LOT of viewings to see everything! 💙
Thanks so much for being here. Definitely need to watch it many more times. So many details.

Same with Layne's green horns this time, since he doesn't have a carrot in his hand. :-P

Very well said! So good!
Thanks for watching.
Yes it's all makeup and prosthetics. The smoke and such is CGI.
The Grundels are back from The Hall of the Mountain King to infuriate Rachel.
They are so creative!!
They are real horns and real prosthetics and makeup 😅
They look so good they look fake 😅
@@SaeedReacts. Right?? They have an amazing makeup artist!!
So much fun! Thanks for being on top of this!
Classical Chaos at its finest! Thanks for watching.
You should become a Voice Play patron. You would love the behind the scenes videos they do for each production.
Would definitely want too. Im already a patron of two authors, dont think my wife would be happy with another one 😅
