one of the favorite scenes, scorpious, given a weapon from john. Tries to fire it at the enemy, weapon fails, resigned Scorpious, "Thank you John."

I think scorpius is the best Sci Fi villain the episode "Incubator" really changed everything he goes from being an unsympathetic character to a man who's ambition and drive to reach his goal is infectious and I felt the whole shows tone changed with it his motivations made total sense.
I remember watching the Peacekeeper wars and I kept thinking please one more badass moment from Scorpius then we got the Sikosu scene and the final stand at the end.
And as for The Harvey idea it was nothing short of pure genius and really kicked some extra life into the show because Crichton was really going through a lot now he had to add visions of his nemesis acting like a fool to the list.

In the Peacekeeper Wars, Scorpius gets what he wanted, but for some reason it doesn’t bring him happiness. A great ending to this character's arc.

@@vit_player2420 He spends the entire series trying to get the thing he's looking at, and... He. Says. No. He calls it insanity. He rejects it outright. He spent so much time and effort to achieve what he's looking at it, and asks John to shut it down.
One of the most epic endings to any sci-fi series ever.

I had a number of nice encounters with Wayne Pygram when I worked at Amoeba records in Hollywood in the early 2000s. And they all came about because I had been watching a bonus feature DVD interview with him where he wasn’t wearing the makeup. The very next day I came across him in the store. Me-“Are you Wayne Pygram ? What are you doing on this side of the world”. He said “the same as everybody else. Just looking for work”. It was then that I noticed his shopping basket was filled with what we call ‘Stoner Rock’. Bands like Kyuss and Monster Magnet. I thought that was awesome. Scorpius was into loud heavy rock bands. Later he told me he was going to Oahu to film a small part. Months later I saw him on LOST. So that was the part he was talking about. When he got back he was telling me that Oahu was so beautiful that he was thinking of moving there. Scorpius is one of my favorite characters ever, so to have actually gotten to make small talk with him on numerous occasions still blows my mind.

I have a list of TV shows and Movies I watch every year. Farscape is on that list. I have watched the full series including the movies at least 7 times. It is one of the most underrated TV shows, for the most part because of the "puppets" on the show, which if people would take the time to watch, you will see this creations of Jim Henson slowly turn into real characters you will care about, you will feel for them as well as laugh. This TV show is worth the watch, if you're a Sci-Fi fan its a MUST WATCH.

"Turns out Scorpius didn't just want to destroy the Scarrans, he wanted to destroy the Scarrans thus saving the Galaxy."
No man, he wanted to destroy the Scarrans for his own revenge. He didn't want the Scarrans to rule the Universe because he hated them, not because he cared about saving people.
And he wasn't really their ally in Season 4. He wanted to be their ally but they kept him locked up most of the time and John certainly didn't want him there or trust him. Well, he started to have some level of trust but only a bit with certain things.

I just started re-watching this series last week.
I notice at the beginning, the show hasn't quite found its footing, it knows it has potential, but it is just lacking that unquantifiable something.
It's when Scorpius shows up that suddenly all the pieces fall into place, and suddenly a fun odyssey turns into a desperate and dangerous game of high stakes jeopardy.

As much as I would love to see more Farscape, I think we have to acknowledge, that good things come to an end - and after all this time, I don't think there's much hope that any revival would even be able to recapture that magic, times change - and so do audiences, and that's okay. Far better that we get a new show with a similar great vision and cast, than attempt to resurrect a past that is already gone. One of the most recurring issues in the entertainment industry at large seems to be the compulsive need to rely on existing franchises and remakes, rather than have any original ideas of their own. Farscape was an original idea back in it's day, and that made it great - we should make room for new original ideas to take it's place.

    • @ericscottstevens

@@LadyDoomsinger AmazonPrime showing the episodes is good news, they are testing to see what the public interest is. The setting for the saga is very unique and able to be expanded upon. As for the former series errors in judgement were made along the way thematically. Yet the biggest gaffe was disposing of all the original film footage so blu-ray or ultra4K renditions are never going to happen .

American bias was going against the show if I'm being honest. If they hadn't cast an American speaking with an American accent as the lead protagonist, it would've had an even more limited audience in the US than it did. It's the same reason, I, as an American, after an earnest attempt never really got into Doctor Who or Harry Potter; those characters are just not relatable to me. Yet somehow the blend of American and Ozzy actors on this show worked, at least for me it did. Also, Jim Henson Company did a masterful job with the animatronics. So many levels above Chuck E. Cheese puppets. It just occurred to me that this show reminds me of the American 90s animatronic sitcom Dinosaurs.
