@@JnEricsonx He would have done a phenomenal job. Far better than CGI Peter Cushing for damn sure. I would have almost rather seen him as a different imperial officer though. So he could have been in more new star wars, and could do his own thing with the character.
I have never regarded Scorpius as being a Villain. Here's why: DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VILLAIN AND ANTAGONIST An antagonist is not necessarily evil, he merely has opposing actions, thoughts, motives, etc. to (in a story) the protagonist. The term does not say anything at all about the actual personality of the character. It is simply a plot role. Now villain, that's a little more intense. Characters may be antagonists without being evil - they may simply be injudicious and unlikeable for the audience. In some stories, such as The Catcher in the Rye, almost every character other than the protagonist may be an antagonist. The antagonist is the opposing force that brings conflict and is instrumental in the development of the protagonist, or main character.
Scorpius genuinely didn't hate Crichton or wish ill upon him. John merely was just a means to an end: to get a military edge over the Scarrans and to exact revenge upon them.
@@lgd1974 He murdered a surgeon without reason and fucking ate a piece of Crichton's brain. Also murdered thousands of people simply because he had no use for them.
I honestly believe Scorpius is one of, if not the best tv villain of all time. Then you have his back story and you see how much suffering he endured and you feel sorry for him.

It is a very difficult thing not only to write but to convincingly cast a villain whom, at points in the story, pulls the strings of your perception about them. Are they really evil? Or is it the only means to an end? Those dynamics are so hard to balance but the writers and Wayne knocked it out of the solar system with Scorpius. I just started watching season 4. As much as I love the other characters, Scorpious is my favorite. He's not only a fascinating character, he also looks amazing. His look is a bit reminiscent of Pinhead and the cenobytes from "Hellraiser". The artists and costume designers that worked on his clothing and make-up should be very proud of the work they did on him. And Wayne Pygram's performance is such a pleasure to watch. He's so good, I'm always so happy when he shows up in an episode. Scorpious always seems so calculating and razor-sharp focused, but when he loses his temper, it's chilling. As scary as he is, there's an elegance to him--At first he appears so calm and rational on the surface, but he's actually quite cold, and vicious.
I honestly think he is one the greatest villain characters I have ever had the pleasure of watching in a show. I feel absolutely the same as you about Scorpius, he's just so perfect, never does he let you down with bad performance, it's top notch every single time.
Farscape was a brillant show. When Syfy canceled the program, I was one of the fans wrote to them to please keep the show on the air. I never did that before, nor have I done it since. All these years later it's still boggles the mind. I only forgave them when they agreed to have the movie to tie up all the loose ends. Wayne Pygram, as Scorpious, was amazing. He drew upon evil and manifested it into a truly terrifying character. I was awed by his acting talent while simultaneously being scared of the character.

Scorpio is like Darth Vader in Farscape. He is my favorite character in Farscape. He is beyond pain and suffering. Scorpio is strong, but at the same time he is smart. He is evil, but at the same time he is good. He is a layered character with many layers of behavior. And in the end he saved the situation by Helping Crichton in the most all complicated situations and settling the peace between the Skarans and the Sebastians.
He's so good in this that I had assumed he came out of some elite British academy and spent his life anchoring Shakespeare productions. He and Simcoe and some of the other Australian/New Zealander cast are the kinds of character actors who might have had 150 IMDB credits if they'd come through Hollywood. Lani Tupu was another one. Completely detached from the known, yet the characters are all struggling with relatable issues. The loneliness of being engulfed by deep space and alien cultures, just trying to get back home while also being attached to the new relationships you formed in order to survive. It is a series that invades every corner of the mind and when over it leaves a chasm.
