Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful interview. I really enjoyed getting the actor's POV for the character he played. I watched Farscape years ago and I love it, but I have never seen this before. Lani Tupu is a very fine actor and he gave a stellar performance in the show.
I just watched that episode with him in the Aurora Chair, I will admit, seeing Crais like that was pretty hard, then finding out why he does what he has been doing and that makes it all the more painful, Bialar Crais is one of those characters I just can't really hate on, because the man was broken and he lost all control he had, but that's the illusion I grew up watching this series and I have to admit, every character on this show had great character development
Damn I expected him to look different out of his costume but I never expected him to be so handsome! WOW I dunno if I've been influenced by the other Samoan actors I've seen Jason Mamoa and Nathaniel Lees both incredibly sexy also, but I am stunned as if hit by an energy pulse!
At nine months into sobriety, I have discovered so many wonderful things and as far as sci-fi goes, Farscape is an absolute treasure and a work of art. But my favorite reason for watching it? Lani Tupu! I don't often get a wild crush on an actor but from the minute I saw him, that was it. The look, the voice, the passion in his work as Crais and Pilot... so much more I could say. IMO, hottest guy on the show.

I'm still in the 2nd season, so I had to stop the video after a few seconds; no spoilers! I am in disbelief! I'm no acting critic, but I'd like to say that I can usually identify when it's the same voice actor, and when I do get it wrong, usually after I find out, I can go back to the video and rewatch it and say, "Oh yea, you're right, it is the same person!" In this case, though, even knowing the two characters are voiced by the same person, I still don't hear it. I'm flabbergasted! Amazing!

Omg! I loved this show and im just finding out that Captain Crase is Pilot? Thats great acting. Such different characters. Plus, no internet bact then to find this stuff out. Lol. I do remember seeing his name an awful lot. We had watch parties and none of us knew. I never really saw Pilot as a puppet the way I saw Rygel.
Yes, I hated Crais. Then he did some good things, and when I started to like him, he did something very bad again, and I hated him all the more. Then bad things happen to him and I started to like him again. Then he died, and I hated him for dying, because he had make me like him. An emotional rollercoaster! But it was a great consolation that he was still on the show as pilot!

Loved this show.. wasn't till lockdown and reviewing on amazon I noticed Lani Tupu played Pilot. Really great acting.

2021 and I've just found out he did pilots voice....
Tupu played the bad guy, and good guy perfectly. I never knew he was pilot, and i seriously hated crais as a character! Bravo good sir! Bravo!
Lani Tupu in Farscape is how I visualise Lord Vetinari in the Terry Pratchett Discworld novels. The elegant presentation of the role.
Not a bad idea! Personally, for that role I could always easily imagine Cliff Simon, but unfortunately that´s not possible any more

I'd forgotten he voiced Pilot. Quite a change in gears from Crais.
It was good he was there throughout Farscape. Losing Craig's but knowing he had Pilot made him family too.

I would have liked to see the rest of the cast in the MCU besides Ben Browder. All are excellent actors.
Lani did an absolutely fantastic job of making me hate Crais and love Pilot.

There was a female pilot in one episode in the early season 2 and an elderly female pilot in the 1st episode of season 4. Maybe you saw those?
