    An Apache, Cobra, or Hind style tandem, yet enclosed front fuselage would be nice and low on drag, but a bonkers time for the plexiglass industry.
    With close stacked rotorheads, a 4 place could get going, and the hot dogging pilots skilled at these can be hired for charters, use of aircomm, and flying tight tolerance, compass heading holding, for max fuel mile. There is a gap where helicopter's expense and private jet range can be filled, and not put everyone in a 70's 9th life prop plane for interstate or county flying.

    The UK have had these for years...they were perfected in the second world war by towing behind ships for reconnaissance.early crashes put people off but constant development especially in materials has mean pilots are returning to this design.....evolution has a long way to go still.

    • @chipfriday8166
      @chipfriday8166 7 лет назад

      Peter Jones: You stand by your statement that they have a long way still "to evolve"? I'm not a pilot (yet) but I have done a little looking and they seem very safe to me. Also economical, fast, and fun! bWhat say you?

    • @openbabel
      @openbabel 7 лет назад +1

      The concept has come alone way from the ww2 flying bike label and the dark days of the killer labels.Italian innovation and more recently German engineering design has helped this concept.There s no denying that development has been in the hands of small companies with limited working capital to make giant design leaps. The application of new materials and aero technology is driving interest but more needs to be done.The development from open to close cockpits serves to expand the market appeal but the train crash of CAA licensing within the EU is destroying such industries by doing it's level best to exclude private pilots in such large numbers from flying. we look forward to a complete change of direction based on the FAA model to drive jobs in the UK and innovation within these sme's.

      Best of luck with that. Seems that Big Government just has to stick it's thumb in the pie even if it has nothing to add or offer. Can't stand to see the Little Guy make it in the niche market. Only room for the Giants even if they have no interest (says Government). Or maybe I'm wrong.

    Looks much scarier to fly than the typical aircraft, but it is actually safer for all the reasons explained in the video. Can't afford the full scale one ?, buy an MIA EZ™ 1.0 Gyro, RC model, it will give you much understanding of the operation of these excellent machines.

    When the Gyro industry rids itself of the 'sporting' tag and replaces it with the 'Honda 90', or the 'Volkswagen of the Skies' image it will get more interest. They are fantastic, relatively cheap (just waiting for some real competition), and fun to fly in a mobile mountain view seat. They should be everywhere. However as is typified in this video risk-taking seems to be its main purpose, just waiting for that dickhead moment when someone shoots past their skill level; and that, in a nutshell, is the popular image of this plane. Furthermore women make nearly 90% of the purchasing decisions and do you think she's going to risk her kids in one? Not bloody likely. So we have them sit in cars to a blurred view on longer trips. Brilliant strategising.

    Just a question: These gyros seem to have a thrustline aligned in the wrong way, which could lead to a tendency to pitch over. Why has this manufacturer violated the need to have the thrustline aligned with the pilot weight, like other modern gyros? Do they have a solution not obvious in the design?

    • @Tecnobingo
      @Tecnobingo 7 лет назад +1

      It is quite obvious you have never experienced such machines. Have a flight in a Magni, and you will understand.

    • @hillock10
      @hillock10 7 лет назад

      Why avoid the question? Just answer it: Why is the thrust line NOT aligned with the pilot weight, which designers say is important?

    • @Tecnobingo
      @Tecnobingo 7 лет назад

      Simple: I am a pilot (limited experience on light machines), not a designer; too many people out there talking about things they don't know.
      I had a flight in Magni gyro (M16 tandem trainer); feelings? Very steady machine, very difficult to put it in an unsafe situation; I couldn't report any bad behaviour from idle to full power and back. What you are worried about didn't look to be important.
      That's my direct experience. I could talk about others' experience, but it would be a nonsense.
      As I said (and repeat): have a flight in a Magni, and you will understand.
      Let the words to the snake-oil salesman, and try it yourself: I believe you will have a good feeling. And you will understand better than a lot of words about thrustline and co.
      Best regards.

    • @hillock10
      @hillock10 7 лет назад

      This thrustline stuff is important. Many people died in pitch overs on early designs, due to high thrust lines. After that, manufacturers changed their designs and some even put on small elevators or stabilizers on the tails. That's why I'm so curious why this design violates previous experience.

    How does the Rotar creat lift without power?

    • @mass4552
      @mass4552 5 лет назад +1

      It works as a fixed wing that rotates because of the wind passing over it. The rotor tilts slightly which helps the aircraft turn or in level flight it creates lift because of the engine that pushes. The good part is that if the engine quits the rotor continues to free spin and you can descend to the ground in a far more controlled descent than a helicopter by gliding more like a plane.

    how the gyro plane is working without, tail rotor in helicopter.due to newton"s 3rd law of motion, without tail rotor it should revolve, under force devloped by force applied on main rotor

    • @stol41
      @stol41 6 лет назад

      That's exactly the point: gyros have no driven rotor! Autogyro means self rotating and that is the case: no force applied, no torque, no need for tail rotor.

    • @ohwell2790
      @ohwell2790 6 лет назад

      The rotor freewheels so does not intorduce any rotating forces on the air frame.

      Olha englishtown é lixo. Eu falo fluentemente e aprendi e ainda aprendo online. Baixa Rosetta Stone. Tem várias linguas. Você acha piratão na internet. Assim você aprende a pronunciar e a entener o que eles dizem. Eu aprendi rápido porque quando comecei na internet tudo era em inglês. Vi a wikipedia nascer sem nada em português. Como eu sou cabeça dura usa o babelfish, babylon e dicionário normal pra ir aprendendo e também pra xingar os gringos. Foi assim que eu aprendi a maior parte do que eu sei de inglês. Depois ver filmes e seriado que nunca tinha legenda fechou tudo.

    Those two bolts holding the rotor blades on the mast look like they are critical to keep the gyro from falling. I hope they are high quality aviation bolts and not something from the local hardware store. I think helicopter mechanics call them Jesus nuts and bolts. I like how the gyro can descend faster than a plane to the runway. Looks like an aerial roller coaster ride.
