@Faultline Ent I bought mine for about 700usd with 18-55 lens in Dubai. So, I picked it about on feb of this year. I know it's quite old model now ,but not ancient though. I think it's still very good camera.🤠

Thank you Peter...I sold my 80D and kept the 5DMKIV--along with a few Nikons and Sonys. I've always been disappointed with Canon's upgrades, but I love the 5D and their L lenses!
This is some seriously great news. I'm looking for a hybrid APSC shooter for both video and sports/nature. This is looking better and better every day! Thank you again for all your work Peter.
I work with the GH5 and I love the 24-60 in 4k, 180 degree shutter lock, 120fps, articulating screen, IBIS and it never overheats. If the 90d competes in these spots, I'll trade up
I have the 80d and enjoy it. I also have a 6dII and an SL1 and enjoy them too. The one I use most? SL1. It's pure joy. Lightweight, take it everywhere and the image quality is EXCELLENT. Only two things about the 90d would make me want it: 1) The joy stick, for speed of moving focus points 2) Noticeably less noise than the 80d in low light situations (key word, NOTICEABLY, i.e. - obvious at normal view, not pixel peeping/scrutinizing). I have been happy with 80d's minimal noise levels in low light, so the 90d would have to be a vast improvement for me to buy it.

My 80D stopped after 600.000 clicks. Bought a new shutter kit for 45 dollars and its brand new again.
I'm looking forward to the 80D since I've just sold my 700D (rebel T5i), on the other hand the 90D is a bit to expensive as we speak , so I'm thinking that the 80D is still a great camera today
Hi Peter, I'm a Canon shooter (I also use many other brands) and overall I feel that Canon have done it again. It'll be a solid performer with none of the issues common on Nikons (muck/oil etc etc) A few upgrades but nothing too exciting. No, I won't be buying it. Enjoy your day today. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
well one question : I have a 6DMark 2 but i Shoot far subjects, (animals, sports) then I have to crop in my images to close the subject. With an 1.6 coeff for the aps-c 32Mpix is it better, even with the new digit 8 processor to get a 90D talking about final image quality ??

Interesting info Peter. I sincerely hope silent shutter doesn't put the camera in full auto mode or limit user control. It will be interesting to see how close all of the speculation videos are to the production models.
I'm going to keep wringing everything I can out of my m50 and enjoy my popcorn with some of the review videos.
Still holding on with my 70D. Waiting to see what happens. Probably keep going with 70D, maybe a new lens, Sigma 18-35 or Sigma 17-50. Canon’s 18-135 is good but low light/wide aperture isn’t there. Decisions....

pablobarriosjr I have borrowed Sony a6300 and it was very nice, with great results, but I hated the grip and the menus/buttons/dials. The a6400 feels a little bit better grip wise, but not much better re - menus/buttons/dials. Just not my thing I guess. I want Canon to build the performance and features of a6400 with a 70D/7DMK2 body. I think I will have to get used to waiting....🤔

By the way, I’ve often heard the recommendation that you shouldn’t upgrade to the next model, but always skip to the next one again. So I think it’s more interesting to discuss upgrading from the 70D. ...which happens to be my camera! So dear, sweet Peter, could you please do a video about that? But please wait till the 90D is actually out, thank you.
I just wish my 80d had 120fps. I use my GoPro instead when I need 120fps or higher. I just subscribed. How often do you add to your Christmas room decor?
I currently have a T6i, and am looking to upgrade. I’ve been looking at the 80D for a while, but I’m interested to see the actual 90D when it comes out. I’m also considering a 6D Mark 2, to get into full frame. It might just come down to price for me.

I'm in the exact same boat.
There's no AF-S glas for such a high megapixel camera, this sensor was made for the EOS R glas, they just put it in the 90D for ease. So if they don't make any new high quality glas, there's only a point for this camera if you're a wildlife photographer and use EF optics, where you would crop anyway.
I use only EF L glass on my APS-C's, not a single problem I can find.
Canon 90D has to have 4K DPF NO Crop in video for me. I don't have problem on the still photos but 32.5MP is nice. Silent shutter is also nice. 10fps is acceptable in my opinion. I have many EF lenses that I can use. I like DSLR body, but someday I will get into the Mirrorless. I don't think Canon will put IBIS..I'm okay with price of $1200.00
There is no silent shutter on any Canon DSLR.
Very interesting Peter. I have the 80D right now. I absolutely love it for shooting stills. Don’t use it for video. It would take a lot to get me to feel the need to upgrade. But we shall see.

I think you missed a HUGE point for video. All signs point that the 90D won’t have 24P in either HD or “processed 4K,” whatever that means.
I did talk about this in the video, in fact both videos I did on the 90D. Seems like 24p is leaving out of Canon's lineup.

I will not upgrade to the 90D. I will wait to see what the rumoured 83 megapixel (if it comes out) is like. Or I will look at the Canon 5D mkiv or 1DXmkii. Or even the Sony a7riv 61 megapixel camera.
The Sony A7R4 is a beast! If I had the extra cash to spend I would definitely buy the A7R4!!
I think it’s looking more like I’ll be changing to the Sony A7R4 unless Canon comes out with a pro version of the EOS R.
EXPBLUE I currently shoot with the Sony a6400. I’ve been considering making the switch to full frame for a while but the lenses are just so expensive. I currently only have my 16-50 kit lens and the Sigma 16mm 1.4 contemporary. The sigma 16, 30, and 56mm contemporary lenses are some of the best lenses I’ve ever seen when it comes to image quality and build quality. They’re even weather sealed. At this point I’m going to just stick to Crop sensor because with Sony camera technology moving as fast as it is, it’s only a matter of time before crop catches up with full frame.

80D also has 25600, but it is in the additional setting rather than native.
90d (pronounce the t, and it's easier to say) sounds good to me. It all depends on pricing, which Canon mostly gets wrong, apart from the M50, and the RP, which is got right. If the price is right, £1200-ish, then it's time to sell my two 70d's, and my 7dMk1. Lets wait and see.

That's what I am doing their is cons in the 90d but the canon R has alot of features that 90d dont have the canon R more like the canon 5 mark 4
If the 90D is over $1000 it will be dead on arrival, there is still a huge market for an APSC DSLR, but with Canon EOS RP at $1300 a full frame, mirrorless, $1300 for an APSC DSLR is a hard sell.

Not at all. 70D, 80D, 200D, low end camera shooters, sports, wildlife photographers with old gear will gladly upgrade. Tho the problem is that market now is filled with all kind of cameras, and selling any camera is tough.
@@LordArioh only difference between 200d and 90d will be the price. your pictures woun't be 3 times better if you use 90d🤯. they all dingy cameras for me and canon have them to many all ready, so way bother with one more. old trick just sticking new sticker and calling new invention😂

No real 4K just upscale 1080? No 24P? Is there 1080P at 60FPS or just cropped 120FPS? 32.5MP sounds great but what will the dynamic range be like? One card slot? Was hoping for a 7D Mk 3 but that’s probably dead.

I think if I had the money to upgrade from my 80d I would buy nice lenses first. Just wish I had some of the expensive lenses.
First and foremost, this is a very informative video. Does it have clean HDMI out?
At the 6:26 mark though, he says when you shoot through the viewfinder the mirror lifts and then the camera focuses. That is incorrect. When using the viewfinder, the camera focuses before raising the mirror.
What do you know about the Memory card? Will there be two and if so what?
30 megapixels if nice... full stop. It's so difficult to accept Canon's mindset. Feature crippling hurts the users but it is not too clear that it is actually helping Canon. My guess is internal politics more than a singular coherent marketing strategy because we all know that the bottom line is not the only factor. M6 mark 2 is a whole 'nother chapter to this story.

Hi - your question has the answer in it :)
Yes - because a frame is a frame is a frame. Whether it's a "fake" frame or a real frame, it's a frame. IPB is seamless, you never know or can access the smoke and mirrors part, so to speak. Whatever it is getting played or viewed on, the algorithm will always serve you a frame :)
It's a "boys and their toys" thing, there's real sour cream and there's powdered sour cream. As a guy, I want the real stuff even though the powdered is real too ha ha. In this case personally I think (know) you can taste the difference. But you need to dig just a bit deeper to identify the difference in quality between IPB and ALL-I.

Where will the Canon handicap hammer strike. Sounds like a great replacement for the 70D, but waiting for reviews on video first.
Yes, Canon alwasy seems to put a major camera killer in the mix. My biggest point would be if they don't put dual pixel focus in 4K for some reason. Even a crop allows it to compete with m4/3rds, but a camera that can't focus is pretty major.
@@PeterGregg Fingers crossed for official announcement. I don't want to have to switch to Sony and have to by a whole bunch of new lenses. The other hope is for a GH6 that includes GH5 capabilities with PDAF.

As long as you're not getting a mirrorless camera your EF/EF-S lens should work. Even then you can buy adapter for EF/EF-S lens

Here is the simple truth - The 24p vs 30p topic is definitely a hot spot topic lol. If you have ONE camera and are not making movies for a defined audience like independent film makes and RUclips wannabe film makes, you will not miss 24p one bit, not even an inch lol. 24p would come into play like this:
*You personally LIKE 24p
*You have 2 cameras and you shot a video in the OTHER camera at 24p so now you have to match it in THIS camera and you find no 24p
*You are entering a film contest where everyone else is doing 24p - so you should be too.
*You have Monkey see, monkey do syndrome. Someone like Gerald Undone shoots 24p and I wanna be like him.
Bottom line - you could shoot 30p for the rest of your life and never know the difference until someone tells you otherwise. MOST of the big money RUclipsrs shoot 30P :)

1. How about the slow motion process? The 5 times slow motion from 120p? Is there any different if I had the camera that shot 120p slow down to 24p (because it's 5x slower) and the one which doesn't have 24p but has 120p in it (like the canon 90d)? Or is it not having a tiny bit of corelation?
2. Would it be possible to get some kind firmware update to able 24p? Is it ever done before? (For any brand cameras, especially for Canon 😜)

I don't think Canon has any interest at all in giving 24p to the lower priced cameras. it seems to be a clear decision on their part from a marketing point of view so i do not see any firmware for something like that coming probably ever. That is one I hope I am wrong on, but it looks like they have made that pretty plain.
Slow motion is always slowed down to "something". I am not strong on slow motion so you will have to do some research on that and RUclips is the place to do it :)

With the Canon 80D using the 1.4x extender iii and the 100-400mm II, I currently get 27 AF point at f/8.
Anything in the specs for the Canon 90D at f/8?

The 100D was released years ago. It's the SL1 (100d). A great camera. If the 90 gets a successor it will be the 90d Mark II. Happy shooting!

I saved the whole year extra 100 bucks ever month to buy the camera in Christmas but Canon really don't give a f so instead of $1200 now I have $4300 I sold my 2 80d and all my lenses filters and accessories, canon just lost a good customer, I am trying Sony's cameras next week
