Top video my 75inch Sony is apart at minute it and it was 1 led not working!!! Shop said main board or t con board!!!save me a lot of £££££ Just waitin on the new strip arrive...thank you so so much👍🏻

Thank you for your advises, it's really helpful. I have exactly the same problem with the same tv. One led was faulty. You can test the leds individualy with a 3V battery and 2 small electric wires. Thank you again
I replaced all the LEDs and they continue to break. This TV is faulty. Just.
Product aging. that's what it's called. Sony should pay damages. I do not recommend buying their products.
This is big job. And not as easy as John has tried to show.
I have a 75 inch doing exactly as you have said. Was yours the power supply or the LED strips?

Mate, I've got a KDL-65W855C with exactly the same problem! I got as far as replacing the PSU and main board, neither of which helped. I'm guessing one of the LEDs has died.
Is there a guide I can follow, step by step?
I was able to replace an LED of my 65W850C but I cant fiddle the two black plastic brackets on the bottom side that should fit into the frame without damaging the flex cables of the panel. Perhaps you got some pictures of the disassembled LCD unit that show how the flex cables go around the bottom side.
Fortunately I screwed it together but I must have damaged one of the flex cables because I see two verticle lines on each side of the screen. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
thank you for a great video! fixed my problem. BUT after 2 weeks i had to do it all over again. a different led had died. do you think it was bad luck or do i have a nother problem?

So lcd facedown and remove the back by lifting up? LCD screen is loose once removed all edge clips? I have a 75" im worry about cracking the screen. I guess I will need to find a big table and lay it face down and remove everything and then lift up back-cover only and while leaving the LCD on the table ?
Thanks for the advice on the led back light can a ask you a for a bit more advice please as I was putting it back together I notice a very small crack on the side of the screen can see 2 copper wire on the side where the crack are broken can this be fixed or will it just give a thin line on screen the crack is about about 0.2mm
Good video and info. you stress the importance of keeping the screen ridget but you start the video with the screen and defusers removed, no tips on removing the screen safetly.

Ugh... My Bravia kdl w850c went out and I suspect this issue. No one in L.A., CA., U.S. will touch it (even if I got the parts). If I decided to attempt this repair (looks like a giant pia), I'd replace all the LEDs. Replace only one, and then possibly have more go out soon. Not. Maybe I'll just go buy a Samsung. No more Sony crap for me. My set is barely 3 years old! Shame on Sony.
Hi jan, On Aliexpress you'll find for (75 dollars plus delivery) 16 backlight led strips necessary for this repair. You can do it by yourself, that's what I did. You'll find many tutorIials on youtube. In France no one too wanted to attempt this replacement. Be really careful with the glass and make sure to identify where each screw goes..
@@cineman7227 thanks. I do lots of DIY, but this looks like a major pain, especially re the glass and bezel. Spoke to a woman who said her TV technician tried to repair one of these and kept breaking the LEDs. Wonder if she meant something else.
I have a question does anyone know what order the lenses should go in as the fell an I am trying to get them back in to order I need to put them in
working from the led back lights you have the thick white diffuser then I think you have a thinner then a thicker white and then the magnifier silver is next to the glass is that correct Please help me
Do not order the double sided tape. Just in case you need to replace another led.
I have a Question for everyone the black plastic edge that goes around the screen. Does it go between the frame and the glass screen or the glass screen and the light filters? I followed all the suggestions and they have worked amazingly but when I took the back off the black plastic frame moved so I didn't know exactly where it came from. but all filters are in the same position and the screen isn't cracked (knock on wood) and the LED white reflector is in great shape I'm just not sure where the plastic frame goes. Can someone please fill me in on where that frame goes please. (you can see this black frame at 17:01 in the video above.) Thank you Russ

Hi mine had the sony logo flash up then the white lower illuminates then goes to red and blinks 6 times.

This is one horrible job, i did mine and the lcd screen is stuck down with 4 double (extremely sticky) sided adhesive strips, 2 long the top and 2 along the bottom, when trying to silice thru these I slightly twisted my blade and chipped a tiny piece of the screen. On further inspection I noticed tiny tracks imbedded in the edge of the screen and the bit that was chipped broke all of these tracks. Disaster. What a total crap design shame on sony what a cheap and nasty product. Lifting the screen was a piece of cake on my own to.
Worse tv than I have not seen. This shit breaks down right after the warranty.
All Sony is one big shit. My Sony Aqua phone has broken down as well. He was two years old.
