Just completed this project using your video! This TV went out almost 5 years to the day when I purchased. This video is Amazing! Thank You! Some extra tips for people attempting this: -The suction cups made handling the Screen easy. -You will Strip screws. I removed 2 corner bracket screws without damage. I used a screw extractor to get the rest out. It took awhile and was frustrating. To place them back, I used pressure from my thumb. Hoping it holds up. -I replaced both sides of the LEDs strips as I wanted consistency. If this broke again, I’m not going to take the time to go through all this. -I have 2 screws left over and I don’t know where they came from. MARK YOUR SCREWS! -The new led strips are slightly off from the center as the originals were (my fault). Doesn’t seem to make a difference in light distribution. -Gloves for handling screens at all times -I was rough with the screen face down working with the drill. So far it seems that I lost about 6 pixels on the screen. Worth it for the experience in my opinion. -have a 2nd table large enough to set the other screens down in the correct order. -The white papers behind the LED, not sure exactly what they are for, I ended tearing them into many pieces while removing them (take off before taking off LED’s) I placed them back and as Flat as I could to not block the LED’s. Hope you have success if attempting this! I found it to be a fun project.

Right, it's always best to replace all the LED's as a unit. I just replaced all the LED's in a Sony KD-70X690E. Before I removed them, I turned on the TV just to see how bad it was. About half the LED's were turning blue. Only two half strips were entirely good. I took them all out since I had all brand new matching LED's for all the rows. Plus they will all age together from new. If they don't turn blue before then..

Yes, The Diffuser screen(s) that lay right in front of the led strips is what spreads the light evenly across the whole screen.
