@@MichaelBordenaro The weather classification does change around Melbourne. This area has the best waves in Florida for surfing and one of the lowest hurricane rates of about 10%. You can also grow more northern plants such as azaleas for the spring which have a distinct pink color. Also, the sweet gum tree’s leaves change colors in the fall. I think you can still buy sea grape jelly and wine in Schnebly’s winery in Homestead Southern Miami-Dade County. Looking at and smelling the orange groves in Central Florida in the winter is an amazing experience. I had two close family friends who retired to Melbourne and lived there for 30 years after spending their first 50 years in Miami. All of this knowledge came from them. :)
@@carolm4545 It is an interesting area to me too. Its far enough north where its not south florida anymore and a lot more affordable too... Your friends who retired there sound like coole people!
I enjoy your videos! If you went just a mile further up from Cocoa Beach, the beaches in town of Cape Canaveral have FREE parking. Also, just a note...You mentioned natural sand barriers....Those aren't natural. Unfortunately, it's from repeated dredging the ocean floor to re-build the shoreline. It's been going on for years. You're actually in Central East coast, not northern Florida....of course north of Miami for you :) The water though is much nicer in southern Florida. It's murky here. :( Nice to see you in my area! :)
Thanks Michele! That one beach in Cocoa was actually the only beach i encountered on the east coast where I had to pay so it was nice to see that. Thats too bad that those dunes aren't natural, but its good they rebuilt them, tremendous protection against storms and winds. This is definitely north for me, I enjoyed your area 😀
@@MichaelBordenaro people call San Francisco Northern California even though it’s 8 hours south of the Oregon border but few people bother traveling up to Eureka which has the George Lucas Ewok Star Wars giant redwood trees which is a great escape for the once a year 100 degree heat spells that last a week in San Francisco usually in September Up in the Avenue of the giants the trees block out the sun and its fresh air so it’s worth a 7 hour 1 way drive

Probably not as we are coming off a 2.5 month road trip across the USA pretty soon and then my wifes busy season will start again with her work, so if we do anything like this again, probably won't be until next year sometime
@@MichaelBordenaro Well at least you got a lot of great stuff while you were there. If we need more videos before next year it sounds like you have tons more footage for us! 😁
Well, I have news for you now. Regarding the free parking situation in Satellite Beach, it no longer exists as of this year! This is in the city limits of Satellite Beach though. The ones there now are being enforced by immobilization of your vehicle if you do not pay to park there. They have kiosks there for you to enter your license plate number of your vehicle and then pay with either credit or debit card or other methods of payment. If you don't, you'll come back and find your car booted on your tires. And from what I understand, it costs like $70 or $80 to get it removed. I have friends that live there, and they gave me the heads-up about it. I go there every summer at least once in June going into July. For the longest time, it was free beach parking there. But it's not being enforced in the city of Indian Harbor Beach or at the beaches across the street from Patrick Space Force Base in Satellite Beach. Across from the base is their property so the city of Satellite Beach will not dare to try and enforce that there! So, you can go to the beaches both across the street from the base or in Indian Harbor Beach and you can still enjoy the free beach parking. So sad about Satellite Beach though! I never thought that would happen there!
Nice small town tour. I would think you would like the wind or at least a breeze at the beach. That's a plus for cutting the hot humid suppressing stagnant air during the summer.
In an area like this it seems to be normal for it to be not that crowded. Nothing to do with covid as you'll see in my upcoming videos, other areas I visited were much more crowded than here.
@@MichaelBordenaro I’ve been to that beach all year and it’s never like South Miami Beach even in peak tourist season. It gets more crowded but not that crowded
@@MichaelBordenaro Housing overall is more expensive and it’s a pain to drive up to St Augustine or Jacksonville given there’s not much there besides that mall off I-95 but it’s not as cold in winter as Jax and it’s quieter and emptier so it’s a place to escape from people at Beverly beach or the often cold, windy and overcast Flagler beach neither of which have surfing. It has no St Augustine or Space Coast charm but because it doesn’t it’s never crowded
Beach itself, and surrounding park, dunes and vegetation looked real nice - but the water is not that brilliant tropical blue/ turquoise like the A1A coast in So Florida (Palm Beach down). A smaller town can be delightful, as long as you have access to a bigger place for airport, culture and more dining options. The Space Coast is the part of Florida I am least familiar with (at l east, waterfront-wise). I have driven through a couple times, but never stayed. I do prefer beaches WITHOUT high rises, or at least, not an abundance of them. I always wanted to go to Cocoa Beach to watch a rocket launch (or maybe meet an astronaut!), but the only ones I have seen were from the Gulf coast, so not the same. Cocoa Beach appeared to be a bit more tacky to me, but I am sure I am a certified beach/coast snob - having seen the entirety of both the Pacific & Atlantic Coast. Coming from Ohio or Illjnois or Iowa, every beach is fabulous! Bot once you have lived in LA, La Jolla, Santa Barbara, spent time in Maine, the gorgeous Oregon Coast (especially love Cannon Beach), the Outer Banks of NC, the Lowcountry of SC/GA, and all the beautiful beaches in FL, I am a tough sell on some of these places. However, I cannot pass judgment on a place I briefly saw on your video. Being away from crowds has its advantages! Thanks for sharing! Maybe, on my next trip to the Palm Beaches, I will explore a little further north, as well as finally getting south to Key West, which I have never seen, other than in videos.
Yes I think this beach is probably great for surfers but its not that clear blue south florida beach type. But I still liked it. I also liked it here better than Cocoa beach as it did feel more tacky as you described. Satellite beach just seemed like an overall good place to live. You're not missing anything with the beaches in Key west, I don't care for them. Water is super shallow and the sea floor is very rough with lots of rocks and shells, coral etc. Not that pleasant.
@@MichaelBordenaro Plus, I think I might tire of the weirdness parade and such a small area, so everyone would be on top of you. I just never wanted to make the 3-hour drive across the causeway. Maybe I would take advantage of the short hop by plane one day.
Oh it’s tacky at Cocoa Beach area but in a fun and not really offensive way. There’s a statue of a surfer on A1A nearby and you can take tours on Kennedy Space Center although it’s expensive
@@MichaelBordenaro Cocoa Beach is for the tourists from Orlando who day trip to the beach so they go overboard with the tacky for them and the water is not like Miami but there’s not many high rises that block the sun at 4 pm and if Florida didn’t at least have a couple places with waves for surfing I wouldn’t have bothered moving here. When I was there before in winter of 2014 the military sent me there. I did get free tickets to many of the Orlando amusement parks

This is some serious stuff , no conspiracy theories on this , thanks , always great videos
I personally do not worry about this because a home is real value comes from two things. One is having a secure place to live every day and not needing to move unless you want to. Two it can be used as an asset to rent to someone else and provide cash flow. As long as those two things remain true I will not be worrying about any type of reset

I’m not sure yet. I have lots of traveling to do within the next two years then I intend to move to some other state and work in another pension while I keep building my wealth in the meantime. God Bless the USA! Trump for 2024! FL is conservative and has no state income tax. One of many great things I like about it with the palm trees and nice beaches. 😃👌🏻🇺🇸
Just south of cocoa beach
How about flooding and hurricanes?
So torn…I love the location of so many of these areas…and love the drama of the Atlantic…but would miss that white powdery sand of the Gulf Coast…😢
i live in satellite beach and the beaches are the best but they do have rocks sometimes
I liked that area a lot! Very peaceful and yet not too far away from some major cities if you want that on occasion
Those plants are Seagrapes.
Thanks for filling me in, I knew someone would know! They do look pretty similar to mangroves
@@MichaelBordenaro o
I know it's only been 4/5 months... but will you and your wife be going back up the coastline again soon? I know you mentioned in a few comments about returning and giving some places more in-depth reviews. Take us along!
Way better than Miami. lol I went to middle school at delaura. I love satelitte beach.
Thanks Gary! Breeze is good, full on wind storm, not so good. We've been dealing with that for almost a week straight here in Miami 🙄
Michael, how much of what you see with the non-crowded beaches has to do w/Covid? STAY SAFE.
Unless it’s a holiday it’s not that crowed always find a place to sit
In an area like this it seems to be normal for it to be not that crowded. Nothing to do with covid as you'll see in my upcoming videos, other areas I visited were much more crowded than here.
@@MichaelBordenaro I’ve been to that beach all year and it’s never like South Miami Beach even in peak tourist season. It gets more crowded but not that crowded
I might be relocating to the cape area, do you have recommendations?
How was Palm Coast?
It wasn't what I expected thats for sure. I will make a video about it, but after being there not sure I would want to live there.
Is there any restaurants in that area that’s dog friendly . What else do they have out there to do ? Just curious cause I’m looking for a getaway
@@jonahhex9620 I didn't stop in and spend enough time there to evaluate it much but I didn't see anything that pulled me in enough to make me want to stop so I just kept driving
Great video Michael! If you ever decide to move here, I'm a local realtor and would love to help you! =)
Awesome thank you Lynnessa !
They are sea grapes not mangroves a natural preserve no one can touch them it’s against the law because they’re for the sea turtles to eat.😀💕💫
Those are sea grapes. Not mangroves.
I moved to Melbourne, I’m having serious regret. It is such a small boring area
That’s too bad
@@MichaelBordenaro thanks.. got to suck it up make the most of it and know I moved here for a specific reason not become I would have picked it.
@@awakentotruthmichaelsmith4698 I think that’s the right attitude to have for now until you move to a spot that suits you better

What's up Michael crazy question here , what you think is going to happen to home owners equity on their property's with this great reset 2030 ??? Are houses will be confiscated from owners like their saying and everything will be rented , I'm pretty sure you Heard of this from DAVOS , let me know your opinion , should home owners sell down the line or??? This is some serious stuff , no conspiracy theories on this , thanks , always great videos
I personally do not worry about this because a home is real value comes from two things. One is having a secure place to live every day and not needing to move unless you want to. Two it can be used as an asset to rent to someone else and provide cash flow. As long as those two things remain true I will not be worrying about any type of reset
Beautiful satellite Beach Florida water ocean 🌊 for you surtf you on satellite Beach Florida for you waters ocean 🌊 for you surfing 🌊 for you
