- Here's IGN Jonathon Dornbush's Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales review for PS5. Miles Morales will also be available on PS4.
Miles Morales is Spider-Man in this all-new chapter of the Marvel’s SpiderMan universe. Play as the young Super Hero as he masters his dynamic new powers. When a war between Roxxon, a devious energy corporation, and The Underground, a hi-tech gang, threatens his new home of Harlem, Miles will learn that with great power also comes great responsibility. To save the people he loves and all of Marvel’s New York, Miles will have to take up the mantle of Spider-Man and make it his own.

I really love how they changed the finisher system by only unlocking them when you've achieved a specific amount of combos. Now people can't really say "it's just spamming finishers".

The game was coo not better than the last Spider Man (it’s only one Spider-Man) and I don’t like how they just took the black culture out of Harlem. Harlem nick name is “The Black Mecca”. I enjoyed that there weren’t any sections where you play as a side character with no powers. Also enjoyed that side missions had meaning to the community and resulted in featuring a cool new suit. I feel like it needs a few sub villains though to make it a little longer.

Reviews are based on the scale of how much the reviewer enjoyed the art and are not an obejctive metric of how close the game is to perfect. Agreed. Took me a while to 100% Spider-Man PS4, this game only took like 3 days.
Not to mention, we go from a Super Hero capable of Solo-ing the sinister six in minutes to a kid who can barely hold his own against an untrained girl with metal hands.

@@wack1921 I mean not really, they told us from the get go this isn't a sequel but merely a spin-off expansion like Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Being shorter should come as an expectation going in.
@@SemperSalam No, they said from the beginning they wanted to make a shorter expansion to the original not a full sequel, that's still coming a few years from now.
I would have preferred if the suit power was tied to the suit. After unlocking the suit for its power, it was pointless to go back to it. It makes sense there is a reason spidey uses the electricity suit (my favorite power). Also, I wish there were story or gameplay reasons to use the suits. Eg. areas that can only be accessed if certain powers are used. Or shortcuts for example.

When an expand-alone game gets a higher score than the original, you KNOW it’s something *GREAT*
Exactly, I appreciate that it improves upon some of the shortcomings of the original like stealth and side-missions despite it just being a shorter expansion.

I’ve never felt such exaggeration of a black teen in my entire life.
I'm so happy with how beautiful this game looks. I do feel like it could be an easy 10 but still such a great sequel by entering into the life with Miles. It makes me wonder the continued connection with Peter in the 3rd game when Miles's story ends too. I can't with to keep going through this stunning storyline as Spider-Man

I’ll be playing it on the PS4 Pro since the new generation of consoles are going to be hard to come by at the moment when it comes to purchasing and I’m sure it will look amazing and play amazing as well on my current gen PS4 pro. Hopefully when things settle down, I’ll end up getting one in January or Feb 😊👍🏻

The game was absolutely amazing, only thing I have to complain about is the length. When it said that I was about to go to the last mission and to make sure my gear was ready and everything, I was so surprised to realize that was it. Still an amazing game though, definitely recommend getting.

Pretty sure that's gonna be in the sequel. If it's not full blown co-op (which would be sweet), it will at least be like the co-op battles in Batman Arkham Knight. Being able to do a combo and then end it with a special duel finisher that switches from Batman to Nightwing at the end. I'd be ok with that.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales feels like a DLC to me. Story is 8-10 hours apparently.
That’s because it was originally meant to be dlc for Spider-Man ps4 but they decided to make it its own game
I do think that it’s a bit short but I honestly don’t have a problem with that, I’m just glad we get more Spider-Man ps4-like gameplay because I’m bored with just replaying the missions again after 100% the first one

I am about 7 to 8 hours in now, and I think I almost at the end already. Although the game is fun and there are some improvements, I just don't know if it is worth the full price of 60 Euro's/Dollars. If it was 40, I would not be bothered by the price.
Man, the 60fps performance mode is just so much better. It's so smooth and the visual differences are minimal. Definitely going to play my first playthrough using that.

This game is just as fantastic as the first. I really hope people stop saying that this is glorified DLC, because that really undersells just how awesome nearly every part of the game is(plus it’s like 8-12 hours long...I’m unsure how people judge dlc at this point)

technically, Miles wouldn't be the Amazing Spider-Man, that title is reserved for Peter Parker in the main universe. Miles usually gets the title of "Ultimate" Spider-Man.

Miles is the main focus. That's why it got a better score. If it were Peter Parker it wouldn't get a 9/10 score. this is what marvel and Sony is trying to do. Make us forget about Parker.
The PS5 having a launch title exclusive in Miles Morales is it's biggest strength against the Series X- I just really wished Halo Infinite launched with the Series X man, Xbox really needed that game to compete with the PS5 and this game. As much as I'm a Xbox gamer, I will not deny that all the hype's pointed towards Playstation right now. 👌

Should I buy this Spider Man or Assassin C Valhalla? Please help (can afford 1 or the other during lockdown)
I haven’t finished all of the assassins creed Valhalla, but if you have to select one, assassins creed is probably better because it has more replay value, with the male/female thing and the dual wield weapons you can always do something cool with it whereas once you watch a play through of Spider-Man there’s very little point in playing the game.
