    Raimi's webs may not be comic accurate but they're much more accurate to the idea of gaining a Spider's abilities. Like I get his inventiveness and high IQ are important but there are other ways to show that, like how in "The City that Never Sleeps" (a DLC to the 2018 Spider-Man game) it's revealed Peter does math in his head while swinging, comparing himself to a pendulum.

    • @medafan53
      @medafan53 Год назад +276

      A possible middle ground could be Peter gaining the ability to secrete web fluid, but not with any kind of useable velocity, prompting him to create the web shooters to take this seemingly useful ability and adapt it into a useful weapon and traversal tool.

      ORGANIC AND TECH BASED WEBSHOOTER????
      He finds out he can create organic webbing but it runs out, so he shows his genius by analyzing how his mutated body creates those webs and he manages to synthesize it.
      Let's then give him the problem of his synthetic webs being inferior to his organic webs in terms of quality. So he keeps using his brain trying many ways to succeed his organic webs, but ends up making different kinds of specialized webbings instead.
      How bout that?!?!

      Agreed. It's the ability I think of when I think "Spider".
      Being stronger, and his 'spidy senses' don't really make too much sense to have come from a spider.
      I think if they absolutely required him to have artificial web slingers, they should've been just that, "web SLINGERS"
      His body creates the webs, and the slingers are what lets them shoot out, with advanced ones modifying the natural webbing by adding stuff.

      @@Valcuda Spidy sense actually makes sense. Most spiders don't really have good eyesight, so they sense vibrations around them. This ability is so developed, that spiders can sense a persons heartbeat through vibrations, and that's how they know to stay away from humans. So for example if a villain throws a car at spiderman, what spidy sense actually does is probably sense the vibrations and send a signal to spiderman's brain that something is flying his way at high speeds. Same goes for heartbeat. Spidy sense probably senses the vibrations of the enemy's body, their breathing, their heart beating, and so on, which gives away hostility or any kind of other emotion. This is all just speculation from me though.

    I think Spiderman having organic webs, makes him a more unique character. Without the webs, he's just a strong, durable guy, with an amazing reaction time. Very dull. Captain America, Superman -flight, Wonderwoman -flight, Hulk (scaled down tremendously), thor -flight, Black Panther, etc.
    Also, Raimi/Tobey Mcguire's Spiderman was not unintelligent. Yes there was much less focus on him being a complete nerd, but those movies are much more heartfelt. A bit awkward and cheesy, but Raimi looked at the soul of who and what made Spiderman an attractive character. It's his empathy, humanity.
    Not that all others fail to capture the same/similar ideas, but of the live actions, even if he's not comic accurate, he is probably the best.

    • @sebaschan-uwu
      @sebaschan-uwu Год назад +10

      So true. The web slinging ability is integral to the spiderman. He's just an abnormally strong acrobat without it. Jeanne claude van damme could be spider man if he found out a way to make those web shooters.

    • @spyder_gaming9251
      @spyder_gaming9251 Год назад +3

      A lot of people seem confused with his powers, strength comes from a spiders incredible proportional strength, his “reaction time” comes from a Spider’s uncanny ability to instantly react to anything that touches it’s web, his acrobatic skills come from a Spider being able to hang and move on any axis, and I don’t have to explain how his climbing works.
      If he had organic webbing, he would need to grow entirely new organs and basically tubes for the webbing going throughout his body which is a lot harder to get behind than his body just developing like his barb-like hairs growing, his muscles growing, etc. he would also not shoot webs out of his wrists, instead there would be an entirely new hole on his abdomen somewhere; and it would not come out in high velocity, only slowly coming out.
      I get that he is a comic book character so it doesn’t have to be realistic whatsoever but superheroes have so much more depth and character when they are somewhat grounded in reality.
      Finally, he became Spider-Man because he knew a Spider bit him and he knew he couldn’t quickly navigate through the city to fight crime, so using his knowledge and the technology from Oscorp; because of his friend Harry, he made web shooters to travel quickly and imitate the abilities of a Spider.
      (Actually finally this time): This might be a stretch but I think him having organic webbing takes away from his unique situation of being able to use his knowledge and intellect to be a better hero, and shows why he is able to choose the right thing. If it’s some random person without the knowledge and intellect they would not know how to use any of their abilities and that would just end up with a dead Spider-Man, but if that Spider-Man is shown to be smart enough to make web-shooters then I feel as though he can use his abilities responsibly. That might be a little bit of a stretch in your mind but in my head-canon, these things can’t exist without each other.

    Japanese Spider-Man bears a resemblance to MMPR because they were made by the same people. Let me explain. Supaidaman, as it is also known, is a tokusatsu series, meaning it makes heavy use of special effects. Other tokusatsu franchises include Godzilla and other kaiju films, as well as superhero series such as Ultraman, Kamen Rider, and Super Sentai. Kamen Rider and Super Sentai are both produced by Toei Company (the parent company of One Piece, Dragon Ball, and Sailor Moon's animation studio Toei Animation) and the latter was adapted into the Power Rangers franchise, dubbing the action scenes over and making new scenes with American actors. Not only are Super Sentai and Supaidaman in the same genre, they are both made by Toei, and the latter is a result of a multi year partnership with Marvel that created some of the early Super Sentai series. The inclusion of the giant robot (or mecha) Leopardon in Supaidaman and its success led Toei to include Mecha in every Super Sentai series from that point, and those mecha would become what we know as Megazords in Power Rangers.
    TLDR; Power Rangers is based on a Japanese show in the same genre and produced by the same company as Japanese Spider-Man, hence the similarity.

    power rangers technically took inspiration from SUPAIDAMAN because Leopardon was technically the first megazord
    Toei made Super Sentai, and would later feature giant robots in it after it was so successful in Supaidaman. Then several years later Zyuranger would be adapted to mighty morphin power rangers.
    So your statement "bares a resemblance to American MMPR" is because Supaidaman literally invented tropes of the giant robot fights which are still used today all these years later. If you go an watch Supaidaman, you can even see him interact with a few Sentai and Kamen Rider characters because Stan Lee also had a hand in making Battle Fever J on top of Supaidaman.
    The large metal box on his hand also was the spider needle injector which gave him his powers by injecting him with venomous spider spines on top of controlling his webbing.
    So please, give Japanese Spiderman more credit next time.

      is it more interesting to just have him shoot webs from his wrists instead of making a device to do it? i'd say it's more interesting that spider-man's powers are a mix of both his superhuman abilities and his intellect, instead of just the former.

    To me, without the ability to organically create webs, Spider Man is just 'another super hero' but he decided to have webs.
    His natural powers aren't inherently spider related. Super strength, and good reaction.
    If you want to show that he's smart, do it some other way that doesn't take away from him gaining spider powers!

      @ArloMathis Год назад +10

      Wall-crawling and basically precognition? The whole thing about the spider-sense is that it takes the spider's real-world ability to sense air current and pressure changes to detect threats and amps it up to extremes.

    • @Valcuda
      @Valcuda Год назад

      @@ArloMathis Wait, you're telling me he can't naturally make webs, yet can naturally climb walls???
      I always imagined he did that by covering his hands in webs!
      As for his spider senses, I think you could easily apply that logic to insects as well. I've always seen it as a way to mimic the way insects and arachnids always see our attacks coming.

    • @ArloMathis
      @ArloMathis Год назад +1

      @@Valcuda Admittedly, my first Actual Spider-Man content was the Raimi movies where the wall-crawling thing is explicitly separate from the webs. But still, they are technically separate abilities.
      And sure, I bet you could. Spidey was created for comics in an era of Total Comics Bullshit where they did wacky stuff. It's not always going to make sense, it's kinda vibes based that has been sorta solidified, expanded, and explained bit by bit over the years as different writers did things. Not a unique comment but I do prefer the organic web shooters to the usual technical ones. I think it’s way more fascinating to have Peter think on the fly and use his knowledge to capitalize off his spider powers, as a means of illustrating how smart he is, rather than him just making web shooters. I think a compromise could be made here with say, Peter creating tools to try and modify his naturally occurring webbing with effective tools that an ordinary but very smart person could manufacture, such as adding an electric discharge to his webbing to stun his foes, or some kind of funnel to alter the webbing’s shape so as to preemptively produce a net of the stuff or something.
