what i think is weird is that they specifically say the genkidama can receive strenght from the sun, but on namek, despite the planet having 3 suns, they never mention it effecting the attack.
I think spirituality has a huge part in the use of the spirit bomb, Goku is one of the very few who can use it because he has such a pure and goodhearted soul that he is worthy of the universe giving him energy, Like in the buu saga where people chose to give him energy i believe the universe does the same, and thats why cell would be unable to use the technique because the universe doesn't want to give it to him.
I always thought that because it was king Kai’s technique that the long range energy gathering sorta bootstrapped his long range psychic communication, basically needing king Kai to actually use the attack, even if it’s purely passive on his part
Correction: What we call "traditional chinese medicine" is actually a quite recent invention by Mao Zedong. The whole "It's a thousand years old tradition" schtick is pure marketing.

Whereas a lot of people who discuss Dragon Ball will do the opposite and typically use the english attack names _except_ for the Spirit Bomb. Presumably because of the reasons you listed here. I wonder why they kept it for that version of the dub. If they scrapped the names "Destructo Disk" and "Tri-Beam", I don't see why they felt the need to keep the name Spirit Bomb.
You should mention the variants of Genki Dama. Each variant have different power levels or execution. For example, Revenge Death Bomber is a Genki Dama forged through negative emotions while Genki Dama Super Saiyajin is a Super Saiyan empowered by the Genki Dama.

That’s not true. The kai world is bigger than any planet in dragon ball. It’s literally stated to be a 1/10 of the size of the universe lol
